I just started my fashion doll collecting last December but I didn’t think about thrifting for them. Until watching your finds. Went to my local thrift store last week and found a Barbie Basics Model No. 05 Collection 01 For less than $5! Now I am hooked lol.
Great find! 🤩 I started with just buying online… Then I started finding boxed dolls at antique stores. Now thrifting is where I find most of my dolls! It’s so much more affordable, super fun to hunt for, and fixing up the doll makes you love them more! 😅🌸
The only one I knew was Daphne! I had to look up the rest! I’m really not great at identifying Barbies. 😣😅 Thank you so much for watching my videos!!! 🥹💜 So glad you enjoy them.
The second older Barbie you picked up was Hawaiian Fun Barbie. She was a childhood fave! I also saw a Jem and the Holograms doll on the shelf from 1985ish. Those dolls were 🔥!
I have to close my eyes when I stumble on these videos I am in Australia and some of the dolls people pass over are ones we either never got or cost a fortune to find. Jem and Bumblebee from Superhero girls to name two and the asian girl from the 90's Kira, but you did save some nice ones though.
Gotta buy only the ones I’m interested in otherwise I’d be broke with a house full of dolls that someone else would love better than me! 😅 But I totally understand why you might wince as I pass these things up. 😂 Thank you for watching anyway! 😅🥰
No idea which one she is cause I can’t find her online, but she’s so cute! Lowkey regret not getting the fully dressed Daphne I saw a while back. 😅😬 Thanks so much for watching! 💕✨
I was born in the nineties so definitely not my era! But I made sure to show her face in the video because I knew others could appreciate her. Like you! 🥰 Thanks so much for watching. 💖💖💖
@@ispybarbie Do you know Jem? did you recognize her ? I just kind of remember her cartoons with pink hair that's it but I didn't have her doll when child because I'm overseas .
@@ispybarbie How lovely❤❤🌟 I only remember her big pink hair in cartoons ... She's so beautiful! I'm still obsessed with her and Barbie ❤ of course! ❤❤🌟
I will say I don’t particularly enjoy the modern Barbie’s either. I’m also a 90s kid so I grew up with 90s golden age Barbie’s!!!!! But I will say some of the current face sculpts are just gorgeous and I do love the Barbie looks line but the regular play line Barbie’s it’s sad to look at the store shelves and see that kids today just don’t have toys the quality that I grew up with. And I really just don’t care for the “Millie” face I’m so over it! And for brunette dolls I LOVE to put them in the darker colors or the really saturated jewel tones!!!! Also they look really really good in red. It’s always a home run with a brunette doll❣️❣️❣️
Agreed! I don’t mind the modern face sculpts, but I strongly dislike the face PAINT. Pixelation City and the style just isn’t my fave. 😣 And those are great tips! ☺️ It’s hard cause I’m usually drawn to pastels and don’t really like those vibrant jewel-tones, but I could try come more red! I just restyled a MyScene doll with two-toned hair and I gave her red accents. Looks great! Maybe I can translate it to my brunette Barbies too! 😊✨ Thanks so much for watching and leaving your feedback!
@@ispybarbie yea the pixelation drives me nuts too! Fortunately I haven’t gotten too many that have a problem in that dept but I agree the current style of dolls is just kinda bla too! But look at some of the actual human fashion we’re working with today. Some of it is just soooooo bla!!! Like I’ve actively found myself walking the streets in NYC looking at the other walkers and thinking this outfit is so bland and I have 100% seen it on a Barbie. There was a time when she was a head of her time and now there’s just too much corporate involvement in the creative stage that it’s all just a boring letdown
@@Elphaboy Yeah I suppose when I think about it, I much prefer vintage fashions to modern day fashions. Back when there were different hairstyles instead of just up in a ponytail or down. And two piece sets with a matching hat and boots. Now you’ve got t shirts and print on jeans. 😭 Where’s the quality? Where’s the attention to detail? Where’s the thought? Lol 😅
@@ispybarbie well the quality and attention to detail get budgeted out by the ppl up top who won’t let the creatives actually be creative. It honestly has almost everything to do with the shareholders. And yea fully agree the vintage fashions are top tier! My absolute favorite Barbie clothes are her original wardrobe from 59-65ish that is literally Barbie couture! I feel like the only other Barbie clothes that have even come close in quality or creativity in design were the 90s fashion Avenue clothes those were just stunning buuuuuut clothing in the 90s was also just flat out way more fun than it is now. Today everyone just wants comfort the end so wut kind of inspiration are the Barbie designers really working with. Everything is oversized Ts gym shorts and yoga pants. Vintage Barbie clothes are unmatched❣️❣️❣️❣️
@@Elphaboy Truly. 😌 I haven’t seen much of the 90s Fashion Avenue sets. I never got any as a kid I guess, but the ones I have seen are gorg and kind of expensive??? At least more than what I’m willing to pay, but I’m cheap. Would love to get my hands on some of those sets. 🤩 *starts chanting* “Bring! Back! Couture!” 😤

Where on earth do you go to goodwill? Mine doesn’t even stock toys. Also, you passed up a Jem doll! I would kill for one of those for $2!
I lucked out with this place for sure! I saw her! Not a fan, but it was cool to see her there! 😅
I am amazed at how quickly you are able to identify all these dolls! Really enjoying each of your videos, thank you.

That little girl was probably waiting for you to finish so she could look at the dolls.
I get excited too. It's fun. you never know just what you"ll find

OMG! it's Esmerelda at 1:20 loooove that doll!
She was beautiful! I was very tempted. 👀😅
Wow!! The intro was awesome! Such good finds!
🥰🥰🥰
Im so happy you’re not into modern barbies! I miss the barbies from the 90s and early 2000s 💕😭
There’s just no appeal there whatsoever. The thick eyebrows, minimal color… It’s so boring to me. 😬
The last one
I loveeeee the new intro! 😍💕
