Really appreciate your honesty Robin, its definitely one of the many things that make you stand out from all the other "life-style" bloggers. You're phenomenal, keep it up!
Robin James it's mainly just some tips. He does recommend Boost Powder by American Crew at one point. If you see that and check it out, I'd love to see a video about that. Also really digging the stache 👍🏼
I watched Blumaan's video too and I think those texture powders are the real deal, going to try out the AC boost pwder. By Villain Blow and Mister Pompadour Texture Powder both look really good as well, but for the price American Crew seems to be the best.
I started using the Nixon system after seeing your post. After 4 weeks on my results are amazing!!! I had lunch with my youngest son the other day, and the first thing he said was “your hair looks thicker!” I had a little thinning via age I’m 51yo, and my hair wasn’t as strong as when younger. Not now! Thank u Robin! BTW the 30 day starter pack is only $29.99 at ULTA :)
Malachi Douglas what hair product you use for b your fine hair bro? I also have fine hair n I try using putty or pomade but it pulls my hair n wen it drys it feels stiff I want something soft& light that you can run your fingers through ur hair Can you tell me what hair product is good for fine hair?☺
Literally have the exact same hair as you. Its just fine hair and for a while it was easy to maintain because I'd get it short on the sides and go no longer than two inches on top. Now I want to grow it out and even see how long it can get. Been trying a lot of products, but this was really helpful. Thank you.
Simon Rockstream you beat me to it. Nice stach. I know you trim it so it is easier to eat and see your mouth, but you should try to growing it longer in the middle👊🏼
Finally a video for us guys that have fine hair. I have really fine hair. On top of my head is fine there is certain spots I would like to have thicker hair. But for the most part that's fine. My biggest problem is my sides. It's super fine and thin if I get a #4 or 5 it looks like it was cut with a #2. It sucksssss. I'm hoping I can get it thicker.
Robin, love the stache! I think it's funny that Blumaan came out with a video about thin/fine hair today, too. I would always trust your opinion more, since you have the hair texture, not him. Thanks for the video and I'd love to see more videos aimed at we thinnies.
Let's just boost the positive comments on the Mo. I was shocked to see it after not watching you for awhile but I dig it. Its unique but you're rocking it.
If possible always try to find a sample of what you want to try first. I had a bad reaction to the nioxin on my skin/scalp and wound up having to throw it away.
Damn bro, i were today in a hair shop because i have also fine and thin hair which i want to make look more thicker, and they literally recommended the nioxin stuf you showed in this video! Thanks a lot, i finally found the key, and will buy the nioxin for sure! Thank you so much
Mr. James you’re rocking style for miles!! You know my ex had a similar stache but all he looked like was a ringmaster, but a creepy one that shouldn’t legally be allowed to come within 100 miles of any children or animals.. 😂 NOT YOU SIR, NO WAY! YOU LOOK LIKE A MUSTACHE SUPER MODEL! Also, thanks for the tips on the “not so hip” great products for extra fine hair! I’ve got tons of fine curly hair and I’ve been looking for anyone who can deliver that no nonsense, honest truth!! Keep looking gorgeous while keeping it legit! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Hey man! Thank you for making this video! I have thinner hair like you, actually we have like the same brown/ reddish tint thin hair and I'm going to look into using this stuff!
Hey Robin! Really liked the format of the video, so relaxed but still informative and honest, now I can't wait to try out both the shampoo and conditioner :D
A good matt make up for men and oily skin? You've said it some of your other videos but I dont remember 🙁 keep up the Good work Robin 👍🏻 Big up from Switzerland 🇨🇭
How old are you? I used to have a head of hair like a horse's tail. I could pull off any hair style. But I got older. A covert, usually not noticeable, sign of hair loss is first the miniaturization of follicles. I didn't realize this was happening to me in my 20s, early 30s, as I had still had complete coverage but not the volume anymore. Then BAM, late 30s, those fine hairs, started dropping. Not saying this will happen to you but just a heads up to anyone who is noticing their hair isn't as thick or coarse as it used to be.
Lol funnily enough both you and Blumaan updated videos about boosting thin hair today. I have thin hair so this is great. I've seen you using the thickening tonic forever so that's been on my list, but he recommended texture powders which I've heard a lot about so need to try it out.
Videos like this help people like me with fine hair a lot! Looking forward for more brand battles and hopefully a review of BluMaan's Hybrid Cream Clay. 😊
Just recently subscribed! Thank you for the useful tips and yup I agree with you that some people(like myself) have to budget with having to buy these products
love your video i have fine hair too and just good a brand new viking haircut not long enough to braid it yet, just wanted to say your video are realy helpful. :)
Also, I'm loving the combo of aveda thickening tonic with Baxter of California grooming cream; either just left for a natural hold or with Baxter paste on too after blow drying. However I just find the paste pomade dries out so fast on my hands.
Hello Robin. I wash my hair with shampoo every 3 days. I don't use conditioner. On the rest of the days I just rinse my hair with water. I've noticed dry flakes coming from my scalp. I'm not sure if it's dry scalp skin or dandruff. How can I tell the difference? Maybe I should use conditioner?
Hey Robin, thanks for that video, found it really helpful! For me, it is very hard to find styling products that work on my fine hair. Like I've tried several pastes and waxes and creams, and they either are not giving any texture regardless of how much I use or they are sticking my hair together and I'm ending up having loose hair on my hand after trying to work it in. Unfortunately, not using any product after blow drying does not look good so it's a real struggle. What do you think of volume powder? I've tried one from Osis and it again felt more sticky than it should be instead of giving structure.
Thank you robin James for easing my worries I have hair like you and I was self conscious because my hair is so thin and I see the scalp a lot I thought I was balding but I don’t have history of that and I’m really young 18 but my hair feels thin and dry and without product I felt self conscious because again of my scalp
thanks so much for your video, Robin. I was inspired by your previous video and tried Nioxin. I think it made my thin hair a bit thicker. But I went back to organic thickening shampoos because Nioxin uses Parabens. I was a bit disappointed when I saw the ingredients after using this for a while. Have you ever tried Kevin Murphy's "Anti Gravity" as a thickening lotion? It feels better in my hair than the Aveda tonic, which I tried as well. Keep up your great work!
Hey Daniel - may I ask what products have you been using ? I’ve been using uppercut but I don’t like how wet/shiny it makes my hair. Thinking about switching and I have label M thickening cream on the way !
Just a quick FYI- for anyone with chemically/color treated hair or for those with curly hair (Nioxin System 5 for chemically treated- hair has sulphate and silica in it.) I bought that system but I have fine hair and wanted to try Nioxin after watching this video but I had to return it since silica and sulphate is not good for curly hair and especially chemically/color treated hair. Alright 😊
Great video Robin, i will definitely be keeping an eye out for Nioxin. Also if you haven't heard of it you should try out Keune thicking cream. I've been using it a few months now and find its great for making my hair feel thicker. It also acts as a heat protecter too.
Awesome video Robin!! On the theme of thickening tonics etc, have you tried/ tested Black Label grooming products?! Was intrigued by their black mist pre-styler! 🤔😘
My hair is very fine/thin. When watching your video I see your hair stays together and and has more volume than mine. What can I do to make my hair more thick give more volume?
Honestly if you wash it less the natural oils will cause the strands to bond together. Also you could try a clay pomade I really like Reuzel. It's the white and blue tin.
Hi Robin! I'm not sure if you'll even see this but I have a question. I have fine hair similar to yours, and I'm growing it out at this moment and it's about your hair length before you got the cut recently. I love using Aveda thickening tonic before i put anything else in because of how it makes my hair look fuller. I feel hesitant using it as much as I'd like to though because of the price. That said, is Label M and Bumble and bumble thickening products have different effect when it comes to thickening the hair? Are there much difference in your opinion? I'd like to try those if there's not much difference in the thickening since they're cheaper and I can be more liberal with the amount I use. Thank you and love your channel it's very helpful!
Hi Robin, great video as always! I have fine hair just like yours if not finer, I have a lot of it though so my scalp is not exposed even when I'm not using any hair products. I'm currently rocking a side pomp (or maybe it a side swept I'm not sure lol, it's a high part with my fringy side combed to the back), can you please recommend some finishing hair products that can give me a full day hold, a little shine would be nice too as I'm trying to pull off a slicker look. I'm currently using By Vilain Silver Fox but my hair tend to fall down to my side later on, I think my hair maybe to fine for this product. Also, it's very hot and humid where I live. Highly appreciated, keep up the great work!
Thanks for the response Robin. Do you have any particular pomade or wax in mind my that fit my need, with the wide range of product nowadays I really don't know what to go for. Especially in my country the price of hair products are double because of shipping so I don't really have the luxury to experiment with many products.
Hey Robin! wonderful video. I too have the same issue and just ordered myself the kit. excited to try it out! I do want to ask, Im not one to wash my hair everyday especially using shampoo. in your experience with Nioxin did you use it everyday or applied it to your daily routine of using the shampoo like every other day? thanks!
Hi Robin! It has been a while since I wrote a comment about your videos, but I have to tell you that I have not missed any of them so far. Great quality content as always and I think I might give Nioxion and AVEDA Thickening Tonic a go as I do have fine hair as well and I know sometimes it is a real struggle to achieve volume. Keep it up Robin and I am glad that your channel has been growing so well! Can't wait for the next brand battle season ! P.S In your description when I am clicking on the IN MY HAIR - Apothecary 87 Clay Pomade , the first link redirects me to ASOS main page. I don't know if this is just a glitch but I thought you might want to know :D
Hi, I did a little research about this product, and as they state on their website, they continue silicones and I wonder if the thickening is from silicones. I also read about some people complaining about the fact that dries their hair ( I already have dry hair ). Did you see an alternative product silicones, sulphates, paraben free? Thanks
Any recommendations for Hair Mousse for curly hair? I'm going to try it because hair paste doesn't work out much for me. Any help is appreciated And great job with the video, once again, Robin!
I got a free sample of Aveda's Pure Abundance Style Prep with a bottle of their Thickening Tonic, and I found it surprisingly good. It doesn't make the hair look as full as the Thickening Tonic, but it definitely gives more volume while also making the hair look thicker. I'm half tempted by the new Aveda Men (idk why they think it's necessary to gender their products) Thickening Paste, but there's not a lot out there on it yet.
Hi Robin, There are so many Nioxin products can you recommend the right products for me? I need something that will make my hair thicker its getting thinner in the last year And a half, and something for Daly use. I don't care about the cost I just need The right products. Thank you
A bit of an update! What I've been doing to my hair to make it look thicker and fuller.
I'm really pleased with how it is at the moment. 👌🏼😁
what about Aveda thickening paste? Its a new product by Aveda and there are no reviews out there
please test Cool Grease Pomade
My hair is just like yours. Fine, but I have a ton of it! So your videos are helpful. Ironically, I also have a moustache.
Robin James ...... is it ok to use the shampoo and conditioner but not the scalp treatment after?
I have fine hair and am looking for a quiff type look. Definitely need more volume to pre-style with, what product do you recommend.
Fine hair gang??
yes and my hair is thick too
hello
Thin fine and breakage anyone else? 🇨🇦🕊☀️🥺😒
Right here homie 🤣
yap here
Really appreciate your honesty Robin, its definitely one of the many things that make you stand out from all the other "life-style" bloggers. You're phenomenal, keep it up!
Ah, thanks Simon. There are some good eggs out there. But there's also a lot of the same old...
Woah both you and Blumaan both uploaded videos about thin to thicker hair tips. Today is a good day for people with thinner hair like me haha
Ooh, I'll have to check and see what products he recommends.
Robin James it's mainly just some tips. He does recommend Boost Powder by American Crew at one point. If you see that and check it out, I'd love to see a video about that. Also really digging the stache 👍🏼
ya
I watched Blumaan's video too and I think those texture powders are the real deal, going to try out the AC boost pwder. By Villain Blow and Mister Pompadour Texture Powder both look really good as well, but for the price American Crew seems to be the best.
Traxus blows good but the pump broke for me
how can you tell what is and isn't working if you're using 2-3 products at the same time?
I started using the Nixon system after seeing your post. After 4 weeks on my results are amazing!!!
I had lunch with my youngest son the other day, and the first thing he said was “your hair looks thicker!”
I had a little thinning via age I’m 51yo, and my hair wasn’t as strong as when younger. Not now! Thank u Robin! BTW the 30 day starter pack is only $29.99 at ULTA :)
Thank you Robin for showing me that I’m not thinning. I just have really fine hair. My mom has fine hair so I got it from her
Malachi Douglas what hair product you use for b your fine hair bro? I also have fine hair n I try using putty or pomade but it pulls my hair n wen it drys it feels stiff I want something soft& light that you can run your fingers through ur hair Can you tell me what hair product is good for fine hair?☺
Pete Martinez I have fine hair I used paste like got2b messy look it even works for non messy styles or axe messy look
Omg I can finally relate to this comment. I'm 17 and thought I was balding but I just have fine hair. So relieved
Literally have the exact same hair as you. Its just fine hair and for a while it was easy to maintain because I'd get it short on the sides and go no longer than two inches on top. Now I want to grow it out and even see how long it can get. Been trying a lot of products, but this was really helpful. Thank you.
That mustache looks so freaking good Robin! Damn!
Thanks Simon!
Simon Rockstream you beat me to it. Nice stach. I know you trim it so it is easier to eat and see your mouth, but you should try to growing it longer in the middle👊🏼
@Marcelle LOL
You are the most honest hair youtuber ever.. ❤️
I'm just an honest person and I care about people not wasting money.
Who could possibly have anything bad to say about that mustache??? It complements everything about your looks to your personality. It's amazing
You're very kind.
i LOVE this guys honesty, even with affeliate links like wow
Most honest You tuber I have came across in a long time. Refreshing to see
This is good!

I'll need to watch it!
My hair used to be like yours but my hair thinned out still I'm trying my best... But I'm going to try this...
Robin , thank you for helping all us guys for Nioxin has made a big difference. Awesome videos. Thank you Roger W. Texas

Thanks Ulises.
Bed Head's Matte Separation and totally baked. Give them a shot Robin and let me know your thoughts. :)
Mayank Bhattacharya bhai bhai bhai
Let's just boost the positive comments on the Mo. I was shocked to see it after not watching you for awhile but I dig it. Its unique but you're rocking it.
If possible always try to find a sample of what you want to try first. I had a bad reaction to the nioxin on my skin/scalp and wound up having to throw it away.
Thank god for you, Robin. Thin hair is literally the thing i'm most self conscious about. Same as you, lots of it but just so thin:(
Thanks James, really do appreciate you making these videos for some of us who have fine hair
Awesome, I also have thin hair, and this is so useful
Glad it's helpful!
Really like the transparency in this video and appreciate the product Advice! I’ll subscribe!
1:02 dude if you think this is thin hair you are gravely mistaken.
Not necessarily "thin" but it's still fairly fine. Super similar to my hair
He doesn't, he's talking about fine hair. Completely different
Damn bro, i were today in a hair shop because i have also fine and thin hair which i want to make look more thicker, and they literally recommended the nioxin stuf you showed in this video! Thanks a lot, i finally found the key, and will buy the nioxin for sure! Thank you so much
Awesome videos! Thank you for explaining these techniques so well. I have struggled for years with very fine hair and you have truly helped me.
Your hair is dope for being straight. I used to have hair like yours but I bleached it and now people call me jack frost😂
Mr. James you’re rocking style for miles!! You know my ex had a similar stache but all he looked like was a ringmaster, but a creepy one that shouldn’t legally be allowed to come within 100 miles of any children or animals.. 😂 NOT YOU SIR, NO WAY! Hey Robin! Really liked the format of the video, so relaxed but still informative and honest, now I can't wait to try out both the shampoo and conditioner :D
Thanks Marco. Just wanted to sit and chat!
First video if yours that i have watched. I appreciate your integrity. Im going to be a permanent follower in your ambitions. :)
Robin, I've been wanting to try the nioxin system for a while now. Thank you for the great video. I'll give the system a try
thanks man, this actually makes me hopeful😊😊
A good matt make up for men and oily skin? You've said it some of your other videos but I dont remember 🙁 keep up the Good work Robin 👍🏻
Big up from Switzerland 🇨🇭
Hey! Try this one: rstyle.me/n/crpmbdb6ah7
The powders are good.
Robin James thank you very much, Im Very well indeed 😂
The video I was hoping for :) your hair really looks amazing, might give this Nioxin products a try by myself and hope they work for me aswell :D
Thanks Philipp. Let me know how you get on!
Not saying this will happen to you but just a heads up to anyone who is noticing their hair isn't as thick or coarse as it used to be.
relaxed, sipping my tea ,watching this vid:)
This is good!
Lol funnily enough both you and Blumaan updated videos about boosting thin hair today. I have thin hair so this is great. I've seen you using the thickening tonic forever so that's been on my list, but he recommended texture powders which I've heard a lot about so need to try it out.
Hey! I woudn't say texture powders thicken hair, they just give it volume.
your hair look amazing!!
Thanks Anshul!
Thanks Anshul!
@@ManForHimself Robin your hair went from perfect to perfect. This tells me nothing about nioxin lol. I am so jealous!
Videos like this help people like me with fine hair a lot! Looking forward for more brand battles and hopefully a review of BluMaan's Hybrid Cream Clay. 😊
Thanks Kim!
Refreshing honesty, love it!
150k soon
Thanks Sonny. We're almost there!
Love this video, keep up the good work
Cheers Leo!
Just recently subscribed! Thank you for the useful tips and yup I agree with you that some people(like myself) have to budget with having to buy these products
love your video i have fine hair too and just good a brand new viking haircut not long enough to braid it yet, just wanted to say your video are realy helpful. :)
Hey! Sounds cool! And you're very welcome.
I rubbed carrots in my hair for 1 month and presto my fine limb hair is now thick and the best...thanks carrots
I have thick & unmanageable hair type..why i m watching this...anyway great video..well done robin!!!👍
Also, I'm loving the combo of aveda thickening tonic with Baxter of California grooming cream; either just left for a natural hold or with Baxter paste on too after blow drying. However I just find the paste pomade dries out so fast on my hands.
Oh, that sounds good. I'll try that.
The vid I was waiting for! Keep it up with the good work.
Good to hear!
I love the honesty here. Subbed!
Love your energy man keep up the good work!
Idk why Dre drexler never admits hes being sponsered by hanz de fuko. Great vid btw!👊
Is he sponsored? I haven't seen his vids in a while.
Hey! I love volume powders but they're not great for making hair thicker. It's more just for how it looks.
Thank you for this ! It was super helpful.
I just went to go eat Red Robin today, made me think about you, come back and surprise new video! 😂 regardless I needed this video, thanks Robin!
Ha ha! Every Thursday and Sunday for me!
Thanks for this video I'm going to buy the Nioxin pack!
Give it a go!
Great vids, very helpful thank you. Going to check out these brands.
I am really feeling jealous about your hair...It's looks lively and so smooth😍😢
Ah, thanks. I've really worked on it.
Robin James Yup bro nothing come from nothing.💚✌
you are a great and honest person. Love you
Thank you robin James for easing my worries I have hair like you and I was self conscious because my hair is so thin and I see the scalp a lot I thought I was balding but I don’t have history of that and I’m really young 18 but my hair feels thin and dry and without product I felt self conscious because again of my scalp
This aveda stuffs amazing thanks for the recommendation!
i have fine hair and when i grow it out the temples look thin due to the weight of my hair so hopfully this helps
Gonna try these products Robin :) I have thin hair too, been really happy with the aveda one.
The Aveda product is seriously one of my favourites.
Thanks bud, will try!💪❤️
Looks good. May give this a shot. Cheers
You're welcome.
Robin James god....used this for the first time today.. I swear already my hair seems slightly thicker
The night one keep us updated on it
Will do.
thanks so much for your video, Robin.
Hey Daniel. Good that you're finding stuff that works for you.
I will try the Kevin Murphy products. It's a great brand!
Yes, it is. I keep coming back to KM after trying other products. Kevin Murphy's "Rough Rider" is a great strong hold clay for thinner hair.
Will definitely look to try it! Thanks for the tip.
Robin James giving tips is what I like to do lol see what I did there 😉... Yeaaaa I'll just see myself out 😅
I agree with you 100% great review and I also use it I have very fine hair n I've used it for a month and I have improved with my hair
This is good to hear. Glad it's working for you.
Awesome video Robin!! On the theme of thickening tonics etc, have you tried/ tested Black Label grooming products?! Was intrigued by their black mist pre-styler! 🤔😘
I still need to try it. Have you tried them?
Robin James Not yet! Was eyeing up the combo deals, just trying to decide between the paste or the clay! 🤔😄
I'm a fan of the stache, I might have to give Nioxin a try!
Cheers Max! And yes, do! Let me know how you go.
:)
Wow lol thanks for making this video. I was just having this exact problem!
You're so welcome.
You should try Bosley! I see them as Nioxon competitors
After a thickening tonic, how about a heavy hold pomade or wax?
Thanks for the response Robin. Do you have any particular pomade or wax in mind my that fit my need, with the wide range of product nowadays I really don't know what to go for. Especially in my country the price of hair products are double because of shipping so I don't really have the luxury to experiment with many products.
Would a hair cream be good for fine hair? Also if using a cream would it be better to apply before or after blow drying?
Hey Robin! wonderful video. I too have the same issue and just ordered myself the kit. excited to try it out! I do want to ask, Im not one to wash my hair everyday especially using shampoo. in your experience with Nioxin did you use it everyday or applied it to your daily routine of using the shampoo like every other day? thanks!
Hey Kevin, I've applied it to my routine and use it every third day.
Thanks Bogdan! And thanks for the heads up on the click. Will change.
Any chance of you doing a facial hair tutorial? Specifically on what looks good on whom, depending on face shape, jawline and the like.
That's a really great idea.
I swear by got2b styling cream this I use as a prestyler and then blowdry the volume and thinckness is amazing you should try it robin
thank you so much man you have really helped me out
Great video man.... you've earned a sub👍
Problem is Nioxin shampoo contains SLS, Propylene glycol etc which causes irritation and itch on my scalp.
Any help is appreciated
And great job with the video, once again, Robin!
Hey! I love TONI&GUY mousse, also L'Oreal and Bumble do great ones!
Pretty new to the channel, really enjoying it!
Welcome! Good to have you here.
Can you review Gatsby moving rubber?
On the list!
Can you please tell whether Pete and Pedro products are worth investing ?
Hi, I've mentioned a few in Brand Battles. Have you see?

Cheers Alexander!
Very helpful video thanks. I didnt know you could do this lol
Yes! I have the Thickening Paste but still to try.
Thanks for the info mate
Great vid keep up the work
Thanks!
