Thailand Ford ranger wildtrak 4x4 only has thin plastic under the motor but I did notice a shield over the fuel filter. There are a few other missing things from the Thailand edition. Like there is no rear towbar so no rear recovery points.
Do the front axles disconnect from the front differential when not in 4H or are they always turning the front differential even in 2H (which is similar in concept to automatic locking hubs but done at the axle)? I believe previous generation ranger was always connected, which was good for reliability of the 4WD system because there was no front axle disconnect mechanism to break but bad for fuel economy.
Hi team, could you pls confirm that these 2 recovery points in the front are rated recovery point? And how much are they rated for ? 5000kg ? It’s very important and I can’t really find it anywhere online 😅 Thanks
Have they fixed the divers seat bolster problem and have now applied the right paint on the chassis as all rangers are rusting mine is a 16 plate wildtrak and is now in for a 9 week rust treatment where the body is stripped from the body and then the chassis is being sand blasted and a coat of primer then 2 coats of 2k paint is being applied, they have given me a curtesy truck but this is also rusting and its only a 21 plate
It's a Ford. By this day and age you should know to expect major issues with anything they produce. Sure you get all the bells and whistles in a beautiful package, it's just not not going to last because it wasn't engineered let alone built too. That being said, those bells and whistles sure are enticing.
Did the distance between the frame rails stay the same as the previous generation, with longer control arms for the track width increase, or did they widen the frame to account for the track width increase?
@@ssoth1762 yes that would seem the logical answer, but since they now have room to mount the rear shocks outboard of the frame, I wonder if they maybe kept the frame width? Can you measure it to get a definitive answer?
@@stillwellford3812 That will be wrong. You cannot use 4x4 on sealed, hard surfaces as selected in tow/haul. 4A yes, but not 4H. Something arse about there!
But why does it activate 4H for towing? I thought you weren't supposed to use 4H on sealed surfaces, that's where the new V6 with 4A was supposed to be better?
better choice als ranger raptor , for lees money you get the same car , differences are no money worth . In raptor series you pay for a sticker RAPTOR nothing else . wildtrak doe the same things als raptor . rr user ,never again

Why would it tow in 4H? Is has no centre diff so everything will bind up on road.....

These recovery points are advertised by Ford as rated. I'm not certain about the exact kg value of the rating.

Most likely just widened the frame.

Hi, yes you can drive it in 4H on road. Its the rear diff-lock that should never be engaged on a sealed surface
