    The ARB GVM upgrade kits absolutely do not increase your GCM. The only second stage manufacturer that offers a GCM with their GVM upgrades is Lovells Engineering. You have a GVM upgrade and an axle load limit upgrade. Not a GCM upgrade.

    Hey guys, brilliant set up.
    You may need to check your tyre size though. Your audio says 265/70R17 but the vision shows 285/70R17.

    Hey great video for me. you said you bought double cap chassis but in the video there was no alloy tray. Can you order without alloy tray and is that more cheaper?

    • @Wanderingaus_adv

      Gday Kim, essentially yes. A cab chassis is cheaper than a tub dual cab Ute.

    Great vid, nice rig. Question - Do you know what the difference in weight was between your empty canopy compared to a tub and canopy set up?

    • @Wanderingaus_adv
      @Wanderingaus_adv  4 месяца назад

      Thanks Brian
      Hard question to answer, depends entirely on what you set a tub and canopy up with.
      We’ve always preferred a tray over a tub, giving us clean and flat access to 3 sides of our tray, or in the case of a canopy like this 2 sides. Makes for accessing, packing and designing much easier.
      Has it a guess, the ally canopy would be touch heavy empty then an empty tub and fibreglass canopy, but there wouldn’t much in it. Especially if you then need to add support bars to your fibreglass canopy so you can put weight on the roof, like a roof platform.

    • @Wanderingaus_adv
      @Wanderingaus_adv  4 месяца назад +1

      Because our GVM upgrade was completed pre rego, fitted out and then chucked over the weigh bridge, Service SA have plated our GCM maintained at 3500kg.

    Nice setup. As much as I love my Ranger, I wouldn't trust it for remote touring. To be honest, I wouldn't trust any modern 4x4 apart from a 79 or pre 2000's 4x4.

    I think the point where this failed was the start when you brought the ranger. 2nd most popular car but the worst for warranty, ford will leave you dry.

    • @Wanderingaus_adv
      @Wanderingaus_adv  4 месяца назад +3

      I suppose it’s each to their own. This is our 3rd generation Ford Ranger. 2009, 2016 and now 2023, our experience seems to be different. We’ve not been let down yet.
      Popularity of car doesn’t come into it. Using that principal, some of the great touring cars of the past you wouldn’t rate?
      Each to their own. But we think Ford have nailed this one.

      @@Wanderingaus_adv i drive a challenger. They had a bad fault in them, mits still warranty them for new motors years after warranty ran out , ford will never do this…. but i suggest watching john cadogan and fouby4diesel …. I think they are well versed in diesels, maintenance , lemons and car manufacturers, the good and the bad.

    • @Wanderingaus_adv

      @@zip-tv_ as we said each to their own.
      We’ve taken each of our rangers 3/4 around Australia, across some of the most remote outback tracks. This channel is proof of that.
      We intend to do the same with this new build. In fact June / July this year we set off for a trip across the famous Gunbarrel Highway and Sandy Blight Junction Rd.
      Only time will tell
