So glad to see someone giving this a try and making a video about it. Would love to see an in-depth review showing off more performance on different games and such. I have installed this myself on my Deck but haven't really had the time to put it through it's paces.
@@sekobashir6158 I'll have to get back to you on that. I don't use my Steam Deck all thhat often. I mainly got it so I could play PC games around the house and as a backup PC. I'll make sure to give some games like Destiny 2 a try, get back to you and maybe make a video about it.

I installed Ghost spectre recently on an USB SSD and have had great luck with it! Runs fast and smooth! Xbox and Steam work great with it. I suppose the only thing I am semi concerned with is if it is completely safe. I installed it with Defender. Are there any security problems with it I should be concerned with?

Will this work directly off of an external drive? I run Windows 10 off of my MicroSD card and thus the extra GPU/CPU workload freed up could be very beneficial to me. Would I need to make it a "Windows To Go" version like I did with Win10?
For the sound to work connected through hdmi I found after connecting hdmi you need to go to system>sound>more sound settings. It should then put the sound through hdmi and show all devices. If anyone know how to fix it so you don't need to do this everytime you connect hdmi let us know.

yes you can boot from an sd card but you will require a usb sd card reader so that you can plug it into your dock to boot from it cause rufus only lets you load onto usb not sd werid i knoww but after that it stays installed on the sd card and you can boot from it inserted in ur deck

no, but u might get a "activate" watermark thing on the side of your screen, ik from normal windows, i havent activated for a week and i didnt get it, plus theres a free windows activator if u want it activated
The downloaded file is a .u13 file ive never seen a file like this before and tried renaming it to a .zip but it just said that the file got corrupted. Any ideas?
I know it's been a month but If no one's helped you with this, it's just another type of compressed file you can use 7zip to extract it to get the iso.
Can anyone try to split the internal ssd of the steam deck to dual boot both steam OS and ghost spectre to if it can do both on a 64gb steam deck? And if possible also split a sd card 500gb for the use of both steam os and ghost spectre to see if it is possible. Anyone please do this and reply here 🙏🙏🙏
i done it with normal windows and tiny 11 wit my 64 gb, its rlly good, steam os runs rlly well and ghost runs well, i use steam os for emulation cus sum games run better on that os and windows for gaming, all of it works well

Steam Deck tools fan utility will fix this. Just set it to steam OS. It warms for anti cheat, but I have been playing games with anti cheat with the fan set to "Steam OS" with no issues for weeks.

If you hold Volume Down instead of Volume Up, it takes you directly to the boot manager btw.
Also, you don't have to hold the volume down button after pressing power. Just hold volume down, press power then let go of everything.

i have it booted from an external ssd nvme m.2 (30 pin to match the internal) and it runs great. valorant minecraft and rust all run perfectly
We definitely need an update on this. How is the feel of the device? Is there anything you miss from Steam OS?

I wouldn't use custom ISOs, always make your own custom ISO with NTLite or msmg toolkit

Rufus warns you that you're going to delete everything off the drive you selected. Selecting the wrong drive can be a costly mistake.

Valve hasn't added the feature yet to SteamOS yet but the hardware supports it.

That is not typical of any version of Windows I have installed. Fans and temperature don't vary greatly from Steam OS.
