Redefining Strength I would not do that to you. You seem like a very nice, emotionally well balanced young woman. I would not want to ruin that by planting in your mind the vision of my fat, bird legged ass in tights and leg warmers. Once seen it could not be unseen. Lol. Horrible. Love your videos. I spend a solid 10 hours a day sitting in a truck bouncing around the country and I am definitely not getting any more flexible. Nor younger. I've been doing some of the things you suggest and honestly it makes a difference. Thank you.
Great video... ? Though. PLEASE, HELP ME EEEEE!!! I only do band resistance exercises and for chest I do incorporate different variations of push ups, and throw in twisting push up handles... My question is, what could I be doing wrong that is causing my forearm to become so big? It's really bothering me and I don't notice them decreasing after trying to do certain exercises a different way. I've never had body proportion issues with my forearms and I don't take steroids or any sort of thing other than L glutamine. Please, help? I've tried doing half way biceps and triceps so I'm not engaging my forearms as much but I don't know if that's making it worse. I work chest and 2x per week, and try to not always do twisting push ups. I try to do more standard handle push ups....I just want to be able to have toned biceps and triceps without the forearms growing. It doesn't look feminine on a female.
Redefining Strength hi!! This is great!!! thank you! One question. What would be your recommendation when to incorporate them with stretches and a run?
#1 80/20 Glute bridge - 1:13 #2 Straight Leg Fire Hydrant - 2:48 #3 Slider Bird Dog - 4:10 #4 Extended Side Lying Lift - 5:43 #5 Side Balance Series - 7:14 Thanks for the video.
she hit it right on the head when she talked about correcting inbalances. im 43, been training for years and this whole COVID thing has really allowed me to shift focus as she says and go back to basics. well done.
Amazing exercises! Leaving this around to guide myself every time I come back to do this routine 💪🏼 Thanks and keep up the good work! 1:13 80/20 Glute Bridge 2:47 Straight Leg Fire Hydrant 4:10 Slider Bird Dog 5:44 Extended Side Lying Lift 7:13 Side Balance Series
Hi, I stumbled upon this channel during covid. just want to express my appreciation. love your exercises, your clear explanations, and your natural style. thank you!
I am learning so much from your videos! Many people believe that personal trainers are well acquainted with every single variation of an exercise when that really is not so. I have learned so much AFTER becoming certified. In this particular field, you should never believe that you know it all. Keep up the great content!!!!
You are the best! I have spent too much time and $ with well meaning but incompetent people to fix my knee issues and your videos have given me back my life. Thank you thank you so very much. I would like to get your programs if possible.
Just started to watch your video and I've been more educated than many other people teach about glute exercises, Thanks for your insight in working out!
Very creative display of functional kinesiology! I am so impressed that not only will I incorporate to help my knee and back pains, but as part of my arsenal of tools for my clients. Way to go Cori!!
This video was so informative! I do a lot of strength training and floor Pilates, but you explained why I can't seem to do some of these exercises after years of trying. Looks like I go back to modifications. Thank you!
Hi Cori! I really love your content. I cant believe someone has finally addressed what I have believed all along! Thank you!!! I use to teach aerobics back in the eighties and my go to moves come from that era. Videos like buns of steel with Tamilee Webb, and Greg Smithey amongst many others, are incorporated regularly into my fitness regimen. They are oldies but goodies. My daughters got a kick out of the spandex clothing but have worked out with me and have seen the results for themselves. I appreciate your valuable content!
That was a great start! I did not expect useful stuff...will try these variations...esp bird dog and bridges! I tend to loose focus on the muscles I want to strengthen!
Cory no entiendo mucho de lo que dices me encantaría subtítulos en español pero con solo poner atención me has ayudado tanto te felicito por tu dedicación
I like you cause you speak more of activating it to take pressure of other areas.. or improve running or lifting.. people talk about ‘growing glutes’ and I believe it can happen because it’s a muscle but don’t teach you all these things.
I love your exercises. Thank you! I'm a dancer and athlete, but after long time sitting got muscular disbalanse and TFL, legs constant pain in 3 years. Your exercises help to go through the fear of pain.
🤩You are truly a wonderful exercise teacher .. I worked at a gym in the intro time 🤣😂🥳 U are so right !! These oldie but goodies are right on.... YOU ARE WHAT I CALL A FITNESS INFLUENCER ... I have learned a lot from watching your channel!!! Thank you for a the great coaching !!! 💝
Lady ..your awesome I've really benefited from your suggestions and hard work.. consistency is key.. I've come to really enjoy the workouts ..thanks 🏃🏼♀️
I like your video! I appreciate you mentioning the exercises that do not engage or put strain on the piriformis muscles. Do you have some relatively easy to medium stretches for the piriformis muscles. The pain can be excruciating! I have been to multiple chiropractors and massage therapists and it seems like I have been getting wrong information or incomplete information from both. I just watched a video on opening up my hips and those exercises calmed the cramping/ pain. I need to purchase a slider and will start on the exercises you showed in this video. Thank you so much💖🌸
I must be the same age as your mum as I used to do the Jane Fonda videos in the 80s! They were tough if done properly! If there's one thing that exercising in the 80s did for me, it was put me in contact with my glutes, lol. Great video, as usual, thanks.
Found your channel a few years back. And when I have issues, I always find my way back. Recently, I finally had hip replacement surgery, so the great thing is, I've already been working my glutes, prior to surgery...and now as I'm recovering, I'm re-establishing the mind body, and there is no better place on the internet for not only the exercises, but the importance of the little things with the exercises to take that pesky TFL out of the equation(like the extended leg lift, where you mention, "make sure you keep your hip extended", its a comment that if you are not paying attention may slip past and you may miss out on the good stuff) and actually get to the glute!. Same with the other exercises where you point your toe down...again, these little things make a HUGE difference in the effectiveness of the exercise.... Anyhow...THANK YOU again.
Sorry no leg warmers for this guy! First, props to you for the video editing (adding g the TV). Lastly, a huge thanks for these exercises are great for the golf game and after running through the series, my backside is feeling it already. I use a series of 10 reps each side. Thanks again. I am glad I found your channel. Have a great day.
You're crazy!! Love you and your fabulous exercises. I've had mystery feet pain for almost 7 years, so my podiatrist has recommended strengthening my smaller glute muscles. I'm going to add these to my repertoire!
1) The 80/20 bridge [1:10] 2) The Straight Legged Fire Hydrant [2:45] 2a) Regression variation of 2) with knee bent [3:04] 2b) Add more range of motion by using a bench [3:48] 3) The Slider Bird Dog [4:07] 4) The Extended Side Lying Lift [5:41] 5) The Side Balance Series [7:11] 5a) Side Balance Leg Raise [7:25] 5b) Side Balance Leg Circle [8:08] 5c) Side Balance Leg Curl [8:40]
I have bad anterior pelvic tilt and I’m a year out from ACL reconstruction surgery. I still have a lot of issues and pain in my knee and I struggle A LOT with not compensating with my lower back. I only recently found you on RUclips, I subscribed right away. Your videos have already helped me. Thank you!!
You're awesome, Love your work!! Excellent intelligent exercises! Its so nice to hear someone sharing my philosophies and Jane Fonda moves! ;-) You wont see me in the leg warmers though :-)
Haha loved the intro! And thank you for packing in so much good info! I've been following these exercises, combined with foam rolling and yoga and have seen some improvement in my lower back pain. However, the pain keeps fluctuating and sometimes I just wake up with so much stiffness and pain that I can hardly get out of the bed. Any suggestions on what I could be doing about it?
If I do just a glute workout, how often during the week do you think I could do it? Love your videos and your mind-body connection philosophy! It has really helped me!
So you could do glute activation 6 times a week. BUT you do not want to train your glutes to fatigue each time. Some days you may do 10-20 reps of something just to establish that mind-body connection after sitting all day!
@Redefining Strength: You're most kindly welcome! You've really launched me on a nostalgic trip, hehe! I still have one of those video recorders. Gonna see if it still works. The concept for the whole video is brilliant!! Hats off!🎩😄
Love these as always Cori (& always a joy to see Kiwi)... I definitely remember the 80s (my teenage years) ... looking forward to starting my 28 day booty 🍑 challenge... I absolutely love how you explain things & provide alternate variations to the exercises... you fully demonstrate your knowledge & I for one appreciate that about you. Thanks Cori
Hey guys! Don't forget...if you do these moves in leg warmers, please tag me on Instagram or Facebook @redefiningstrength. Would make my day! ;-)
Redefining Strength
I would not do that to you.
You seem like a very nice, emotionally well balanced young woman. I would not want to ruin that by planting in your mind the vision of my fat, bird legged ass in tights and leg warmers.

Same for me. Your explanations are so clear and easy to understand. I'm working through all your videos!
Glute bridge brought me to your channel, during lockdown......thank you ma'am, really appreciate your efforts...keep up the good work ma'am,..........
The shiny purple leggings are so on point! Glad I'm not the only one who remembers the 80s! LOL. Fun and helpful vid!
Dude so cute but I don't think that brand was made for working out...hehe Thank you!
You are creative and very knowledgeable, I just wanted to let you know you are doing an amazing job with these videos

Hilarious beginning! Started out the day with a good laugh ... that's important too. Thanks for another great video ....
Thank you! That was the goal. Good info and some giggles!

I’m struggling with pain in my glutes due to lack of activation and over use of my harmstrings and just found your channel. You’re amazing, thank you!

I LOVE your videos. There are SO many videos but I can SEE what you've achieved with your body "machine"!
Thank you for explaining more about the bridges. My PT has me doing these but my neck hurts so I haven't been doing them sometimes.
You are totally right about these basics. I’m def doing these tomorrow!
Have fun!

OMG! I remember my mom loving Jane Fonda and jazzercise! Great flashback!
Love your instructional skill. Excellent!
That cracked me up- AWESOME INFO!
Thank you for more glute activation exercises! Slowly working on my weak af left glute! ❤
My left glute has trouble firing for the hydrant move even with bent leg. What should I keep in mind when performing this exercise?
So you not feel that glute at all or do you feel other muscles compensating?
@@redefiningstrengthOC I feel other muscles compensating. I think the TFL is firing instead?
Thanks for this.
Excellent very very Excellent
I love it! Good job
Wow. I appreciate the extra information 🤩
Had to check my playback speed for a sec =P Great stuff thanks
Would be nice to have the list of these
Love all your videos !!!! Thank you !!!!!

Brilliant as always Cori 👌 thanks
Thank you!
Love these as always Cori (& always a joy to see Kiwi)... I definitely remember the 80s (my teenage years) ... looking forward to starting my 28 day booty 🍑 challenge... So glad I discovered your channel! Your content is awesome!
The most helpful video ever, exactly what I need right now.
Glad it helps!
We tend to overlook these exercises can you believe
I was raised by a Jazzercise instructor (and taught it myself in the early 90s). I remember the fire hydrant move!
Best name ever for a move and while sooo silly looking it is SOOOOO effective!
That intro is fully awesome ..............
Thank you!
