After my CCV mod, my truck started leaking at the oil pan. Was worried it might be due to excessive pressure so, I spent the money on the caterpillar commercial CCV vent filter and made sure all my lines were 10AN. After replacing my oil pan gasket twice it started puking oil from the dipstick tube. I finally reverted everything back to the oily messy factory set up and now, no more leaking. My 7.3 did not have issues for the first year after the initial CCV mod but over time and about 20,000 miles, it was apparent the truck does not like it. I would highly recommend returning it to factory before you end up going through the massive pain of the constant leaking. Good luck!
It shouldn’t be doing anything like that with CCV mod, it would only do that if the line was plugged or kinked somewhere not allowing it to breather easy from the hose.
@@FixItNick I would have agreed with you on that. However, I have fought with it now for several years, spending nearly $1000 trying to do as International has done on their industrial engines and still it always resulted in a mess. Just letting you know so that when issues arise, don't burn the cash like I did. There literally is little to gain from this modification. I HATE having the oil in my intake but, the other issues that followed were much worse. Keep up the good work. I do enjoy your posts. Cheers!
I wouldn't teach Matthew that earlier to start a car cause he might take a joy ride....lol nah it's good you do that and I was driving at his age so your a good dad!
Lol the more I let him the lesser the chances of him stealing it lol
@@FixItNick when you let them it takes the curiosity away. Great video!!
Thank God. Finally, someone who thinks like I do when it comes to cleaning parts before putting them back in. Looks great. Damn fine job.
Yes sir and thank you
I can tell your truck is MUCH quieter than before. I can tell by comparing your other videos.
Good job Matthew!!.. I mean Nick!.. :)
Yea I think it is but hard to compare but I know it’s more reliable now for sure
I agree with Aaron John, Thks for hooking us DIY guys up always, and taking the time to do it, bless you brother..
Thanks I appreciate that it’s beneficial to some :)
pro tip for the bellow and turbo clamp is to loosen the turbo pedestal bolts slightly so u can rock the turbo to line up then tighten clamp on bellow then tighten up the turbo last
She sounds good
Seu vídeo chegou ate ao Brasil Somos apaixonados por Camionetes tbm 🇧🇷❤
Well done Nic, Damn good job, inspiring to all DIY guys
Thanks really appreciate it
Great job Matthew who's a great project manager 😉..... Didn't notice the length of video enjoying it way too much. Hope all goes well with running it back in.... See ya!
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks!
@@FixItNick thankyou for putting out such great content Nick 👍🙏
Great job, something about these 7.3's. They're the modern day muscle cars. Looking foward to the results of the work you did.
Yea fairly simple to work on but still to many plugs lol
I have a 2000 F350 4wd dually I've had it for a long time I've entertained getting rid of it for a new truck but I'm not a big fan DEF tank and all the other stuff that goes with it so I still have it it only has about 155000 miles on it I can't find anything more reliable than what I have
Great job Nick!! The video was so informative and interesting that I didn't notice the length. Engine looks super clean!!! Hopefully one day mine will be like that. Good on keeping track on Mathews lolly pops, lol.
Awesome keep up the great work! You have mechanical skills to pay the bills, lol🖒🤣🏆🛠💪
Thanks really appreciate it! I was expecting more hate about length lol
I was yelling into my computer, “Get that clamp in position before you mount the turbo on the pedestal.
I was wondering if you should tighten the passenger side red tube on the spider BEFORE mating it with the intake manifold. I think the driver side can be placed on the manifold and then attach the spider to it.
Another thing. I was cringing every time you rocked the turbo on the pedestal. That risked pinching and damaging those o rings. You were pretty aggressive.
Great tip on lining up the down pipe with wooden wedges.
Haha, yea true, I’ll be doing it again soon with new turbo upgrade lol
Great job, I personally think you could have spent the money on the EBPV delete parts and not the plenum pieces, but that's just my opinion. I also noticed that my truck was so much quieter with new up pipes, keep the videos coming.
Trust me I know I don’t want to go back in there but I’ll be doing couple upgrades with the pedestal upgrade so I’ll be ok, it easy second time lol
I pulled the guts out of mine then tapped an plugged the hole probably 10 years ago. Worked out good so far. Plus unplug the electrical connection of course.
Great video nick
Love the music
Thx
great on the whole project, but why oh why did you not get the pedestal with out the stupid valve, you just cleaned everything and put back the biggest potentional leakers into the valley
Ya I know, well I’m going back in there in couple months plus need to save up little
@@FixItNick EBPV delete pedestal is only $90 from Riff Raff. Sorry, don't want to always bitch. We're all on the same "7.3" team.
What Garrett turbo do you have mine is stock like yours only its A Garrett GTP 38R which is Ball Bearing and is a little bigger then old Garrett 38 with brass bushings in center. Nice build. Fun to watch.
Honestly I have no clue, didn’t look at numbers just know it’s stock,
Very very nice job !
Thanks appreciate it!
Do you have a video on fuel tank filter replacement or the mod for that. Been thinking hard about changing the filter or doing the mod for the fuel tank. Love your videos!!
Haven’t done it yet, will do this soon when weather improves 👍
Tons of vids online. Search "Hutch" fuel tank mod.
How long did it take you to disassemble, install and button all of it up? You inspired me to get it done.
Thank you, it’s hard to tell with my schedule cuz I do this between shifts, I think 5 hours with n distractions is very doable
Great vidj very informative 👍✊🤟😎🇬🇧
Thanks
THE BELT ON THE ALTERNATOR LOOKS A LITTLE FRAYED IN THE VIDEO... GOOD JOB ON THE CONTENT...
Thanks bro, still has life I’ll get a spare soon
@@FixItNick I am a extra board Fedx and UPS Heavy Cargo Captain. Fixing to retire soon. I go Long Haul overseas. I want to buy the truck after you finish your series. Lol.
Needs a new fan belt aswell
Now that you got all that engine work done you should change your exhaust going back to a 4"
Lol that sounds dumb
Yah guess just as dumb as stacks thrugh the bed
So I am doing up pipes and re installing my turbo but I cannot for the life of me get the up pipes and turbo to line up. The dowel rod is not perfectly matching up and sliding in. I have the up pipes loosened at the manifolds, but it’s like my up pipes are just a tad short because no mat how much I push and pry the up pipes just can’t get quite high enough to match even with turbo bolts loosened. Starting to think my black horse racing (cheaper, bought on eBay) up pipes were a bad decision.
Is everybody loose and has play? That’s a tough one, I was willing to pay more on those just to be sure they are perfect
im doing the same thing right now and also having trouble lining up to get the back clamp on. how did you finally get it to fit?
@@robhenderson4026 I believe I had to let my frustration die down and come back to it the next morning. It was still a pain in the butt, but I finally played around with it enough to get it to line up and get my band clamp tightened at the same time. I recommend having a friend help you with this one! Also, spending the extra money on the higher dollar pipes might help, but I'm not speaking from experience. I still have the tiniest exhaust leak where my up pipe meets the manifold on driver side. Not looking forward to tackling that, but it can wait for now.
@@kevinrumsey277 i finally got it back together yesterday. Loosened bolts up at manifolds, took turbo bolts out and pushed and pulled then it all lined up. Pita i tell ya. Lol
It’s a real pain for sure. It took me several rest breaks to regroup. I used the International ones to be sure of a good fit as well.
3:27 Nooo!!! How could you have done this to Mickey!!! 😥😥😥😭😭😭
Lol SORRY
@@FixItNick Man I must be weird, I was thinking Mickey Mouse was taking quite a beating too !
Some assembly required 😂😂😂 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
Just a little lol
should of cleaned that filthy wiring harness off too.
Nice look
Change the bild dud
Searsh ford f 250 or gtr or doodge cat
Soon, have new plans coming
Guys just a suggestion.... stay away from Brake cleaners
Use diesel instead!!!!!!!!!
Where did I use a brake cleaner ?? Lol
Very good video. Interesting.....
@@FixItNick I didn't see you use it either, but it's still worth stating. Guys, brake cleaner is very hard on some gaskets and o rings.
What do you mean ...NO LIFESAVER!? That's probably child abuse in California.
Hahah CPS coming
