That's why it's called the iron fister tournament.

That “beautiful iron fist” flair sounds a little different now 🤨
and here I am with my dualshock controller using that d-pad.
you can buy a fight pad like the Hori ones

I saw this video 3 years ago when i was a noob with Heihachi, now I'm a pro at wavedash and won my 1st local online tournament, thanks to this video, love you tmm, thank you sir!
Holy shit.
Good stuff man
I also won a tournament but with the salty online community

5 years later and this allowed me to learn wave dash easily. I will make you and Aris proud by mastering it. See you in a year or two.
keep it down will ya
i will reply in 5 years
@Disgusting_Developer thx bro
Have you mastered it?
well?
Just from personal experience..
I have the same Korean stick(eTokki Omni) and a big advantage the korean lever has is that it goes faster to neutral with very stiff inputs. Which makes it arguably more convenient for Mishima players. Diagonals are a lot smaller in Korean levers though, so if you're converting from Japanese to Korean stick you will have a hard time getting used to clean diagonal inputs like UF or DF for a while.
When I started playing stick I began with a Sanwa and had real issues getting clean neutrals. It often wiggled to ub or uf which resulted in to random inputs. So yeah in the end it all results to personal preference, if you like to input real hard and get fast stable neutrals Korean stick is the way to go. If you can input delicately go Japanese.
kei goeie jong
From my experience with the Myoungshin Fanta, the switches are very sensitive you don't need to move the stick as far or exert as much force as you do with the Sanwa JLF. I agree that the diagonals feel smaller & the return to natural is fast especially if you only move the stick far enough to actuate the switches.
I would prefer to use it for any character & even other games. I should add after doing some research I've found that the throw to actuate the switches on a Myoungshin Fanta is 1mm larger than the maximum throw of a Sanwa JLF. My best guess as to why it feels like the distance is smaller is the fact that the Fanta's shaft sits loosely in the neutral zone so there is almost no resistance until you begin to actuate a switch.
Taunt Snake Edge SNAKE EDGE I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM!!!!!! i have my 300$ already just waiting for the etokki. because i bought the hori real arcade pro 4 kai and when i let go of down 5/10 times itll input up so it makes duck punishes a risk smh
Makes you think, I thought that crown levers are much easier on u/f, d/f? Maybe because they are so tightly located to each other.
But then again it's a mixture of personal preference and local availability.
Nice explanation. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience
No wonder you use p2 side man
I have the hori rap v3 sa kai arcadestick. It came with the Japanese stick (sanwa JLF) and as a beginner, my execution was sloppy. I eventually bought a Korean stick (crown 307f) and It was noticeably harder to control, but after practicing it helped build a lot of strength and muscle memory in my executions. I eventually bought a Crown 303f and I favored that over the 307.
Nowadays, I swap back and forth between the crown 303 and sanwa JLF, and currently rocking the JLF more. Mainly because I'll try other fighting games and those are more corner-involved inputs.
I have to agree with Adrian when he says "Japanese feels faster, but the possibility of missed inputs or mistakes are greater". Practice makes perfect.
Hahahah I imagined that you were explaining this to preschool kids.
*Now you see, this biiig movement and this has a smaaall movement.*
Nice comparison though, now I know the difference.
are there any inverted ones there where the joystick is at the right and the buttons are on the left?
Thank you for this, even if it is brief, it is still very helpful without anything else added to it!
Hey tmm, just wondering. What gate do you prefer/use on your arcade stick? What do you think is best for tekken?
All the videos I've seen he has a stock HRAP4, which has a square gate. I think octagonal gates are pretty uncommon, although I use one.
i bought the etokki omni korean edition with the taeyoung fanta stick last month..i love it
what do recomende a arcade stick company like hori or mad catz or another one?
I've been playing Tekken since T5 and I still can't wave dash in P1... T_T
It's easy, just practice it some more.
I find it really hard but I'm starting to do it. I can do like 2-3 wave dash before I got irritated. Haha
I suggest practicing with Kazuya, he has an easy movement. You can wavedash easily with him.
I like Heihachi's wave dash animation more. Hahaha. But will do
Good luck!
I can do wavedash on controller but im really thinking about buying a stick just to test it any recommendations? Wich pros use wich sticks or something?
Get the hori rap 4
I use a korean lever the crazy dongpal to be specific. But i replaced it with a balltop. Korean level grommet is much much better than a Japanese lever spring.
This is surely gonna be very helpful for my d-pad wave dash
Of course it gets more complicated once you start thinking about different gates, actuators, springs, grommets, etc.
I was considering getting one, albeit for a different game though, this is useful to know.
Although i had seen TMM arcade stick explanation on previous videos, but i still haven't get any of em XD
Is it possible to wavedash in dualshock? Been wanting to main devil Jin but I'm worried i wouldn't do it because i dont use an arcade stick
Baconic yes it is possible you just need practice more
He explains it so well
I would stick with my PS4 controller, can't be arsed spending a ton of money on a stick.
Krish Bhalla good decision
filthy casual
Well, if you ever get a stick don’t go cheap. I made that mistake on my second one. You want authentic arcade parts that way it feels good. Totally worth it if you’re into fighting games.
Steven same for my first and second sticks, they were bad, but my third Hori rap 4 Kai was totally worth it
JustOTGFrame imo if you want to go cheap you can build your own stick with top tier parts for piss pennies
And this is why I play on Keyboard. Fastest movement possible out of any controller.
Nice comparison MM
The different between korean and japanese ball💀
i bought the eTokki Omni Korean edition with the taeyoung fanta stick last month and i love it and from my experience it's a way lot easier than the japanese stick
Nabil Jamalludin i had the same experience, I've used Japanese stick for years and can use it for street fighter, but for tekken, Korean stick feels much easier. I switched to a myongshin though with a different rubber and the taeyoung Fanta actuator .
Did you guys think it took a while to get used to it, my Omni came today but I’ve been struggling with it
@@KaizenMMA12 i bought that before ended up throwing it away (should of sold it), heavy as hell and lever is stiff as fuck
I have one questions
how to make an arcade stick not corroded quickly, not jammed with analogue and long lasting
Pls anyone answer ineed your guys help
which analogue?
I'm just testing the otto v2 kit for the sanwa jlf...because I have really good execution on korean stick but I prefer the Japanese feel.
So.. It's perfect ( and my ball top is a giant seimitsu lb45.. It's huge but I like it)
how can I get this?
Thats why got an etokki. I recommend etokki for tekken. But, its pricey.
You can get s Hori or a mad catz for $130. Etokki is $200. And it needs to be shipped from Korea so with shipping its $270.
And it has no compartment for the THIN USB cable
only 1 troll came to dislike the beautiful video
TheRuthlessEnd there's 30 now... I liked the video, but 30 people didn't... but this video's been up for awhile.

Sakif X9 that stick is terrible unless you heavily mod it
now i see different but still kind of hard get usual to it for me
Would switching to arcade stick from pad really make me able to hit wave dashes etc consistently?
Switching to arcade stick will make you relearn everything , u will not be able to play to play at all at first
consistency comes with repetition , whatever device u use, arcade stick is actualy the hardest, but it feel the best in my opinion , keep practicing m8
glhf
It sure helped me, been playing pad my whole life until a week ago. I can do Korean back dash and ewgf waaay better on stick for some reason
TMM what about hitboxes? don't you think is the best? no miss imputs, and the df2 CH PEWGF is way easier.
Diagonals are actually quite hard on hitbox because you need to press 2 buttons sametime, and if you are doing PEWGF or OTGF you need to press 2 buttons and 1 button with other hand under 16 milliseconds apart from eachother
My friend owns a hitbox and dash is quit hard for me as a beginner since the down button is like the down and farthest to the right.
YTXZ No just buffering
what about tha price..?
So as a keyboard player and formerly a pad player (though i couldn't wavedash for shit on pad) I'm thinking of going into arcade sticks, and am thinking of going for the Japanese ball top, should i go for the bat top?
Bat tops are dirt cheap, if wanna try one out, you can always switch back if you dont like it
@@RFLCPTR i mean which one should try first
@@Lazar-ox5bd you will most likely have a ball top on your stick when you buy one
@@RFLCPTR ok thanks
@@Lazar-ox5bd ball tops and Sanwa are the most common. I would definitely try them first unless you have already developed a preference for a bat top. I was never partial to bat tops, our arcades never had them, mostly Sanwa and I don't like using bat tops that I have tried - but one is neither better or worst than the other, it's just a personal preference.
good comparison
I mostly played with an etokki because of Tekken, but once in a while I jumped on 2D fighters like GranBlue fantasy. And THERE is where korean sticks fall apart. (2D games)
I ordered a razer Panthera and left it stock. It's a learning curve for me but I felt it was a good compromise for tekken but an advantage to be able to play all the other games. (With Japanese stick)
How so? I use a Sanwa JLF ball top square gate for 2D and trying to like Tekken (I don't really like learning and playing Tekken) . Why exactly is Korean stick worse? I think VernaKOF uses a Korean stick, and I know for sure Infiltration of SFIV fame used Korean levers.
i find korean back dash easier on the player 2 side and wave dashing easier on the player one side. i also play with the stick in between my middle and ring finger.
All same. Ah.. I have such big hands.. I think it's a disadvantage for playing on stick for TEKKEN, I have the Japanese stick, never tried the Korean, but I think about trying this last one often those times
@@pako7278 I have big hands too. I find bat tops far more comfortable. Maybe that's why I love Korean sticks more
Thanks for this vid
Jokes on you, I play with voice recognition so this doesn't affect me😎
nice editing LOL^^
Then why don't you just switch it out for a bat top? Am I the only one who swaped in a bat top on a sanwa?
Depends on ppl background when started playing most of the time, I find ball top easier when using wineglass or daigo's grip, any finger grip in general.
Can anybody recommend me a good economic Korean stick?
I used to play tekken2 in my area's arcade and all games had Japanese pad and I'm now I'm pretty good but in western pad I'm not that good
Had trouble using the Japanese stick, might try korean, still better than the controller
very informative

I bought a hori stick 1month ago and have been practising movement and wavedashing like EWGF and such. I get like 8hrs a week practise cos of work but the progress I've been making us very little. like to the point where I can only wavedash 2-3x before messing up and a perfect EWGF like 1/10 tries yet for some reason I can do OTGF almost perfectly. tips/advice anyone?
Be more precise!
thanks again bro
and this is all in square gates too lol
i Have razer atrox arcade stick ball grip
what is the name of that japanese controller i want that exact one
I am not sure what stick that is, but it doesn't really matter either. Because that arcade stick model is more than 6 years old now. Every design is typically a limited run so as time goes by it's harder to acquire a specific stick model as they are either discontinued or the design has been changed or with some luck you may find one to buy on the used market.
All you have to do is look for an arcade stick that has Sanwa or Seimetsu parts and a Japanese lay out. The stick and the button lay outs are the 2 defining factors from a Japanese stick or a Korean stick.
hori real arcade pro
It looks like an old Hori model but don’t quote me on that.
I just can't wavedash in player 1. player 2, all day, easy mode, player 1 its a struggle.
ACXIAO666 How du u do it then, if u can explain and is willing to help.
Yep agreed. But using the p1 grip he showed it’s doiable bur’t still hard

MM i'm your fan, i'm not a player of Tekken but a like to whatch yours vídeo. I play kof, Street by i like tekken too. About the controler I think the that American stick is the most faster because the tension that It has. Is bigger then outher but, in my opnion, is the one who come back to neutral State Verry faster then outher. When i play kof or Street on japonese controller i fell some dificult to do moves like dashs cancel or Very faster imputs because japonese controler dont go to neutral State faster like American. To play Street is ok but some other games who need Very faster execution i have dificult on japonese controller. You may try and see what you think about. TheMainManSWE give me the name of the arcade stick at left i would like to buy one cause it is hard to do electric uppercut of Jin Kazama , i'm novice and tekken is coming soon so i have to get ready for the online match tekken 7 ps4

@TheMainManSWE you should re-watch this man
Just when I thought I would buy an etokki. Thanks
subjective, in actuality for me, movement on k stick is easier, however I struggle to side step in one direction due to up being harder to push due to requiring more force.
Autoswitched And is that an issue? 'cause I never touched a stick before so...
Well, if you plan on getting a stick because it's "better" You'll soon find out the learning curve is very high, and performance difference between pad/stick is identical. I haven't had much of an issue due to side stepping, just a bit more force is needed due to k sticks having a rubber band which makes em go to neutral quicker
Autoswitched but arcade sticks are better than dpad, lots of arcade stick player confirm that
The reason people say the k-stick is better is that it returns to neutral faster than the j-stick. I find that when trying to wavedash/backdash quickly with a j-stick it's a lot easier to miss the neutral.
0:19 Japanese ball-
Bruh dont make me think dirty things xD
Just tell it was a stick
Thanks RUclips.
Why am I watching this, i only own a keyboard lol
Just give me one
so thats why you stick to p2 side...
I preffer korean
شايف اللي شاد الباي انا ههههه xD
mainman you cant say movement is slower on a korean stick because you haven't put in the hours to master it like jdcr has... he has the worlds most fastest precise movement and uses the omni.
He can actually because he's used many Korean sticks before in his early days of Tekken 4/5 - his first 5EWGF was done on a Fantastick, Saluabi Korean stick on Tekken 5, which is how he got famous for being one of the most technical Kazuya players in the world. I'm sure he's put in the hours enough to get an opinion on it all.
@taken gts he can say that because it's not matter of opinion but law of physics... Since you have to make bigger movement with your hand it's gonna be slower. Probably it's not even noticeable difference if you play for 20 years but yea.
Dude jdcr is no life, no social, no friends Maybe he just knew EVOs commentors only as his fantasy friends even he denies his parents and sister.
Look at jdcr he looks not enough nutrition only practice, practice, practice with stick on front of monitor as his life.

Who is better
Basically the Japanese stick is more precise and faster but harder to master (better for competitive use),
The Korean "bat" lever is better for beginners, more satisfying to use but less good for competitive use.
Correct me if I'm wrong in the comments.
but korean levers have a faster returno to neutral so they are better for wavedashing
@@aquilescastro1335 Seimitsu (Japanese) levers have a faster return than Sanwa or Korean levers, and are cheaper than Sanwa.

한국 스틱이 작아서 힘들다는건가?
한국스틱이 얇아서 일본스틱보다 조금더 늦다는 거라고요~^^
근데, 얇아서 일본스틱보다 사용하기 쉬워요~
I truly feel like (on console) fight sticks should not be allowed only controller v controller. Cause if a fight stick being used vs. a controller fight stick has much more of an advantage
Using pad vs. stick is completely preference. One of the best SFV players (Punk) plays on pad. That goes to show it isn’t the equipment you use that gives you an advantage it’s your skill. There’s a learning curve when using stick that players have to get over, but once you get used to it the only thing it may improve is your execution. Which you still need to practice to improve as you would on pad. Reactions, punishing, matchup knowledge and adaptation still need to be done on a player level. No pad or stick can help you with that.
@@nigelthornberry9797 oh yeah no doubt definitely a learning curve and I'm slowly working on it but I guess my problem is that how people who use fire sticks can move extremely fast for example anyone who plays with Jen or kazuya and do that Mishima dash they can do it over and over and over again super quick like it just almost feels like it's unreal I don't know but then again also play with Eddy LOL and they dogged him in Tekken 7
@@Rengekyo01 in that case we should ban the pads
@@aquilescastro1335 that makes no sense fighting on sticks has a way more advantage than fighting on pads...
@@Rengekyo01 Skill issue. People are competing at tournament level on pad.
brain and instinct not stick that's why korean players are so dangerous I think
I have to disagree. Japanese stick is much easier to play than Korean. Less resistance, more accurate and less tiring.
Yes , i have both jp and kr lever, moving on kr lever is too hard event with 30a grommet, i would say that is morę woobly than jp lever and also bat top is uncomfortable for me (my hand lie like 45 degree on ball top)
No one:
RUclips recommendation:
This is legit all wrong. The ball and bat dont make a huge difference to how the stick moves. It affects your grip if anything. Korean stick have a rubber tensioner wheras japanese sticks use a spring. This means korean stick return to neutral alot faster (as fast as you pull the lever hard). This is important for characters such as mishimas where finding neutral is very important for wavedashes. Korean stick also have no restrictor gate, they are circular rubber guards.
This video is very misleading.
(as fast as you pull the lever hard) wtf does that even mean
Damo what is confusing about that statement ? The faster harder you move (then let go ), the faster it will retract in the opposite direction (to neutral ).
Your wording did not convey that. I understand what you mean now though.
Damo well it wasn't my comment but glad you understand now
Did not see that, thank you either way :) Considering getting a korean eventually. Good to try out both.
