  • Another stunning pedalboard from ‪@Tech21nyc‬! Bass Fly Rig V2! A must have for live shows and recordings! New features such as 2 separated overdrive channels (and the new "Character" mode"). You can really get tons of tones in a lightweight and small pedalboard! Simply gorgeous! Check out my review!

Nice overview and demo. I bought one of these and then sold it a few weeks later, and then bought another one. There is a bit of a learning curve, especially with the Octafilter section. I am now comfortable dialing in what I want and you need to change the way you play for certain effects to sound the best. I love the idea of knobs rather than a digital multi effects pedal. The Comp and SansAmp section really are the star on this pedal. And the Tuner is very accurate.

Nice demo. I have this pedal and I like it a lot! It's worth noting that the Octafilter section doesn't sound great on its own, but combined with some compression it works a little bit better. Play around with the settings to see which combinations work best, it's quite versatile.

Glad you like it a lot! Regarding the Octafilter, perhaps this will help you enjoy it more: ruclips.net/video/DxsHDiJivsI/видео.html

@@Tech21nyc hi, I did watch this back when you first released it. I don't think the problem is folks not knowing how to use the Octafilter. I think there are just too many things crammed into one switch. Sometimes less is more.

with the octofilter, something i've seen nobody's really covered is with the octiver and fuzz off, the octofilter is still on, so you have to run it in combination with that in mind, so the q and range affect the octiver. @@idickman

I have the bass driver and thought it would be cool to have this one instead, because of the svt mode, tuner and fx loop. Looking forward to trying it. Thanks for the review

I would love to have one of these on my board!

The octaver sounds strange in my opinion. These boards are really useful and simple to mount. But the effectquality is in most cases better if you use single stomp boxes. Thank you for your test.

Yes the octaver isn’t anything to brag about, the chorus is ok sounding. The fuzz, comp and the preamps sound like tech 21 quality. The fx loop is good to add in another pedal. To be fair I’ve tried it on 3 different amps and found 2x10 cabinets sound good with this pedal.

After a while with the pedal, I have to say that I'm a bit disappointed with Tech21 this time. In the VT Bass variant, the SansAmp lacks the character button, and when used as a bass driver the mix botton. The mix button is maybe the most important one on the Bass Driver to add some clean tone to the distorted sounds. And the Character button was is the heart of the VT Bass. Nothing has changed in the effects section. Here I would have liked more variable effects, e.g. a flanger as a chorus alternative, and also a good overdrive as a fuzz alternative. The effects loop is not important to me, so I would almost prefer V1 of the bass fly rig by now.

I have the original bass fly rig. Both units however IMHO lack in the octafilter. Could never get a useful sound out of it. I love the chorus however.
For me .what it needs the most is a variable mid range. I believe that value is 1k.
Id prefer a sweep .or set around 630hz boost/cut

I had the original bass fly rig. Loved it . Great for easy setup gigs..and studio. But after going back to using my pedal oard and into a Hartke LH1000 for live gigs...I find the original sans amp pedal (DI) to sound better. I even have the GED2112 rack version..and pedal version.
The original , for me, seems to work best , when using other pedals.
The fly rig, over all just seems a bit thin sounding no matter how much lows I use. And sorry ..that Octafilter just aint cutting it. Theyd do well to just put a decent envelop effect in the unit. Chorus, Envelop, compression, EQ...maybe drop a Pog pedal or OC5 pedal into the equation..and you have a very nice easy setup.
      My humble opinion
