There is a problem with this monitor and the samsung odyssey 32'' . Some reviewers have apparently contrast ratios of about 2500/1 and others like you contrast ratios of about 5000/1 . ( Look the g32qc review at rtings for instance ) . The thing is that that massive difference in contrast ratio and therefore to black levels can completely change the overall image quality and HDR performance. It's like there are two panel varieties out there and Samsung and/or Gigabyte doesn't seem to know what panel is installed on the final product.
Remember that even though 5000:1 and 2500:1 sound like huge differences, those are tiny differences in black levels. It does sound like something to check out though, but I haven't seen any other G32QCs yet.
@@TechTesters My samsung Tv has 5000/1 contrast ratio and 1000 nits hdr brightness ( edge local dimming ) . My crg9 has 2500/1 contrast ratio and again 1000 nits hdr brightness ( edge local dimming ). Hdr on the first is useable and actually pretty good , hdr on the second is not usable , very washed out because of the lower black levels . What you say may not matter in sdr but in hdr it makes a display from hdr usable to non usable. Personal opinion... Keep up the good work!
@@oDiium1 Local diming zones and top brightness are way more important than just the contrast ratio itself. This monitor can only reach 400 nits and does NOT have any local dimming's.(Local diming means it can regulate the brightness on certain areas of your TV). Your TV can reach 1000 nits, has local diming zones. There is honestly no comparison worth making with a tv that has such a high brightness with local dimming's . But that doesn't change the fact that there is something going with the production of the panels. Would also maybe explain why you now only can get the A edition. My panel has much more backlight bleed and more in line of the results of Rtings.
Just wanted to say I was not even aware the website has so many extra reviews - just read the Antec P120 (translated to English of course :-) ) and I am super impressed with the results. I am not happy with my GPU temps in summer and will be selling the Silencio S400 soon and getting the Antec instead. You really should do a video for this case! While I do not recommend it with an AIO, but for air cooling it looks ideal!
Thank you! I don't think I'll make a video on an older case at this point, videos take a lot more time than the website reviews, so I need to be picky ;)
I got this monitor a few months ago and I love it. The only thing I don't like is the joystick power button. It is bit unpredictable but you get used to it. There is also some black smearing in certain instances. Really wish this had a remote as well.
You can plugin the monitor to your computer via USB and use the OSD Sidekick software so no need to use the joystick... also hope you use the "speed" response time mode to minimize black smearing
You sold me. Once they have them back up on amazon it is snag time! My robot will be pleased that his pupil cam feed will be displayed with such fine colors. XD

As much as your reviews are awesome, I must commend your video editing. It's really clean and professional on all of your content. Keep up the amazing work!
They could have made the stand like you said a little bit elegant = less amount of plastic, but on the other hand + side, it gives more stability to the monitor over all!
@@TechTesters Yeah so I played around with it quite a bit and it never seemed to change much. My IPS i have now has some ghosting, so im still unsure if I want to go back to TN at this point
Wow that contrast ratio is excellent if it's not just golden sample. Really hard choice. These have really good picture quality with deep blacks but ips have better motion clarity and adaptive sync performance.
Great review!! I really need your opinion on what to get from these 3 monitors: - Gigabyte M32QC - MSI Optix AG321CQR - LG 32GP850-B I’m not a gamer, I just want the monitor for home office and browsing, but I want the best performance for that. Your help would be highly appreciated!!😊
I like the aesthetic of this monitor, it doesn't scream 'gaming' and would not look out of place in a professional setup. Personally for me however 32" is just too big for PC gaming :) Perhaps in months ahead when the price has gone down a bit it will be a very good choice.
There's a 27" version, the G27QC. It has the same specs, save for the brightness, which is a bit lower. Also, the contrast is not as high, but it's still great.
This monitor is fore sure not 5000:1. I got mine and I have way more backlight bleed. I believe reviewers got a different sample or for a time a different panel was installed. This would also explain why you now only can get the -A edition. You can't even get the old one anymore. Rtings also did a review and got a way more modest contrast ratio of 2900:1 with the normal variant, without the A.
@@Kaiser187 ehh I was kinda wrong, I think the panel is the same but just different quality control. The monitor she received was probably cherry picked to be the best. Since I believe it's a review unit
@@Kaiser187 Well it isn't as bad as other brands. Most other brands don't suddenly have 2000 extra contrast ratio. Even cherry picked ones. Multiple reviewers noted this ratio, but the reviewers who bought it like Ratings show a much more modest ratio.
I have this monitor and have a good tip to anyone using it. Do not use overdrive mode speed when using g sync. You get massive overshoot and inverse ghosting and honestly looks terrible. I was about to return it but tried balanced mode and yes have normal ghosting but a far superior image quality. If you run 165hz at all times it looks okay with speed mode but you won’t get buttery smooth motion without gsync. So yeh overall pretty happy with it now
You don't have it when you put it on the highest overdrive without g-sync? That's odd, mine didn't do that I'm sure. Only with the anti motion blur mode.
Techtesters if you run it max refresh rate and speed overdrive it will still have overshoot (inverse ghosting) but not as noticeable. I always run g-sync cause I get frames around 80-100 and it’s more noticeable. Balance mode looks better to me as normal ghosting only leaves black trails not random colours like inverse ghosting
7:43 my g32qc has a lot of backlight bleed on all edges on a full black screen, and I've seen others have the same problem with this monitor. So did your review unit not have this issue?
Blb is sample specific, although you usually see a trend per batch. This one is great, but you're not the first person to tell me this, while I've also heard from a lot of happy users. If you get a monitor with bad blb though, I'd return it and ask for another one. It does happen with almost every monitor and brand.
@@TechTesters Thank you, the important thing is knowing that there are units with nearly no blb or apparently no blb like your unit. From the video it seemed that there was 0 blb, or was there a slight blb?
Subscribed! I’m torn between this, the GB M27Q, and the MSI Optix MAG274QRF-QD. I’m coming from an ASUS 75 Hz 1080p screen, so I’m sure picture, and performance-wise, any of these monitors will be an upgrade…. But my question would be: if I am willing to trade a tiny bit of response time for deeper blacks, and wider color gamut, which if the 3 would you personally recommend?
WAW This monitor have at least six dead pixels, check min 8:43. I am super happy I purchased the MSI 31.5 curved monitor. Zero dead pixels and I love everything about it after only half day of use! I also tried for a few days a 32" 4k Samsung, VA Panel as well but flat and 60Hz only. Great color except pretty blurry even on RUclips on fast clips. There were a couple more monitors on my list, one IPS panel and another VA but ultimately I got the MSI with 144Hz refresh rate. It was $100 more expensive than the Gigabyte but the build quality it is also better. Is this Gigabyte OC at 165Hz or that's native?
you know, it doesn't fit my desk but I think It's sick af ^.^ Update, I just got it last week, fps games look smooth az. The colors look amazing, when the monitor is black it got some w and m shaped not so dark areas on the top and bottom of the screen. Also never had such a fast refresh monitor before so I got nothing to compare it to besides my 60hz one. I'm sure when I start making bank and buy higher end monitors I'll see the difference Until then I'll live in mindless bliss thinking I have the ultimate monitor setup ^.^
alright update, ghosting is real my guy, like ew u kno, extra bad on dark colors if you go into fps mode its not as bad. I unfortunately can't get into fps mode because my eyes don't last long in anything above 250-300 so sad hours. currently contemplating on looking for a smaller monitor or something the same size but better with handling the ghosting situation or become a big baller anyway wish me luck! XD
Mega work Nada, as always! Although I have to admit, I am eagerly waiting for your review of the Samsung G7 Odissey, would LOVE to know your opinion about it. Also in comparison with 27-32" competitors, that would be awesome. Many contrasting thoughts about it and I need your review in order to decide whether to buy it or not! :D
Thank you! I'll see if I can get one, but Samsung samples are rare. Shame really they look promising. And I can't buy it, just bought the LG 38gn950, which looked like a better allrounder than the g9 to me.
@@TechTesters Yes G9 for me it's super niche, but the 27-32" G7 offers 240hz, fast response time and VA panel which should offer nice contrast. The 27" comes for less than 600euros, which is not bad!
I have a pair of Dell 27" QHD. But I have to use it as 125% of scale, because text is too small at 100% scale. I guess at 32" QHD will be the sweet spot.

Thanks for the review, great and informative! Can this monitor handle g-sync compatible + 165 hz + hdr at the same time? I am looking for a VA monitor specifically since now I am using TN and I just don't like it at all - the colors are bad, viewing angles are just unacceptable. IPS is good but I heard it can't produce deep black colors. So it leaves me with one option only, which is VA. Also since I'm going for two displays, this curved feature is nice since it allows me to put monitors close to each other without any angle in between. By the way, this monitor costs just 2/3 of the price of Gigabyte CV27Q in my region. I feel like going from 24 inch 60hz TN with no sync features or hdr and with brightness of 250 to this model will be a huge difference.
@@ancientpiggybike3561 Great. Couldnt ask for more. The screen size is so immersive, especially with MSFS. There is some debate that 32” is to big for ESports but I’m not one of those. Some monitors of this size also have reports of screen wobble but this is fine on my desk. Hope that helps.
@@ancientpiggybike3561 I don’t see any problems but I’m not an expert in these things. To me, the performance is fine. I’ve played MSFS, Wastelands 3, and Cyberpunk 2077. They all look fine.
Can you do me a favor, can you take the best gaming IPS if you have one laying around and compare with this monitor in the next video? I find that contrast is really high when you were showing a sample video in the dark but when you are gaming the colors looked a little dull maybe it's the video
It's always really hard to "show" you the difference. What you see is affected by the monitors, my camera, Adobe Premiere, RUclips compression, and your own monitor. So it's impossible to look at b-roll and really see the difference. Same as that you can't see a contrast of 5000:1 or more in a video if your monitor only does 1000:1. In terms of colors, there isn't really much of a difference between this and a typical good IPS panel with a similar setting.
It means that the monitor can display up to 165 fps. Even if the fps is shown as being higher, a 144 or 165Hz panel can't actually show more fps than it's Hz rating.
I wish manufacturers would stop implementing features that they end up implementing poorly. I know that putting HDR (for example) on a box might sell better, but if it's poorly implemented, it's better for both company and consumer to just leave it out save some costs so they can drop the price.
I hear you. I guess it's just a thing that's built into the panel / scaler and they're just letting it be, I doubt it's even costing them somehow. I don't even think the HDR option is bad to have, but the Aim Stabilizer is a good example of something they should either tune right, or remove. But, people who watch reviews will probably ignore the feature, and people who don't still want to see some marketing BS I guess? :)
@@TechTesters Yes and no. Maybe HDR wasn't the best example, but some standards require a license fee (HDR10 is free, but something like Dolby Vision or Technicolor HDR requires a license). And when a manufacturer has to pay for something, that overhead gets forwarded to the end-user with some additional "processing" cost and then some taxes get thrown on top of that. A bit off topic, but to some extreme extend you can compare it to the Gsync milking that Nvidia has been doing for years; they provide a chip with some technology, the monitor manufacturer has to pay for that, and the consumer pays 50/150 more than what the technologie is actually worth. We did a calculation at the office (quite) a few years ago. Some devices could end up costing between 40 and 70% of what they sold for back then, if all the unnecessary licenses and patents would be taken out of the equation. That's 30 to 60% lower in price, for features most people won't ever use. And the argument that licenses and patents are there to protect the developer and to protect innovation doesn't entirely hold ground half the time, as those have become a business model for patent-trolls in many cases. Or in Nvidia's case, just a disgusting business model looking like "Hey, you bought our top end super expensive graphics card, but if you want to fully use it, you should give us even more money.". Sorry for the rant. I have an excuse: I'm Dutch :)
Thank you for this good review! Still i would like some advices: Do the Xiaomi Mi BHR4269GL compete with this monitor or is this one undeniably better?

Gigabyte g32qc, BenQ Ex3203r and Asus ROG Xg32vqr are around the same price in Taiwan. Which do you think is the better panel for HDR gaming, reading and HDR movie? Thanks!
The XG32VQR would be the best for just HDR, but it's still not really amazing HDR, and the G32QC would be better imho for all-round use. That would be my choice anyway, but they're all "good", so if you find a better price, or really like the design, you can choose any.
Guys, I have one question.... I am currently thinking about to buy a new monitor. However, I am not sure which one I should take... Would it be worth taking the ASUS XG32VQR or the Gigabyte G32QC instead? I mean, there is a price difference of about 100$/€.... but what excatly makes the Asus better? Thanks for your help :)
I got the 34 inch version of this and I connected it to my macbook air with hdmi2 port, with an adapter in between as macbook air has only usbc connection. I had to scale the mac resolution to 2560x1140 to match the monitors as that gives me the most normal picture and anything else horriblyyyy lags my macbook. But my issue is that even this still makes my computer lag, i can see it when i move the mouse and similar things. Its usable but definitely not great, for the price I paid for all of this. Another issue I am facing is that my external monitor is too stretched. This becomes even more noticeable with youtube videos and pictures. I tried other resolutions, the one I have now works the best but its still majorly stretched. On my mac screen it looks normal and on the external stretched. If I choose default for display it gives major lag again. Any idea how to fix these two problems? I don’t want to return everything as idk what the issue is exactly and getting another monitor might just give me the same issue..
Hello! I have had this monitor for 2 years and I am very happy with it, but unfortunately a short time ago, I accidentally broke the display, please tell me where I can order this screen pannel . Thank you!
What is going on with the new monitors? Almost all of them are curved. I was looking for a 1440p 32 inch monitor with good refresh rate and so on. All of them are curved. Had the 6 year old Acer xb270hu lots of backlight bleeding. Opted the Samsung G7. It is a very good monitor but the curve does get to my nerves. :)
I'll see if I can grab one. But Dell monitors are really hard to get hold off here in the Netherlands . Tell Dell socials that they should send one over 😂
Watching the gameplay that you show in this monitor, I see a little bit of ghosting. I think I will stick my PG278QR 165hz TN panel for now. I was looking for something bigger, because I would like a bigger screen for gaming. But, motion blur or ghosting is something I REALLY DON'T like in gaming monitors.
I think they wont add that the monitor is g-sync compatible because they need to buy a liscense from nvidia to be allowed to say it. And so gigabyte and many other dont say thats it has gsync but it has (unofficially). And if they would the monitors would be more exspensive too.
Ok got this purely based on your review and I can say I am very pleased with the purchase no dead or stuck pixel or anything but a bit of slow response time but I dont play competitive FPS anyway ^^

@@TheGauges420 It's not like there are any budget 4k 144hz monitors out there. Most of them are over 1k euro and that's quite a lot.
Great review! Can you do a video on their upcoming oled monitors?
Thank you! I don't think I'll make a video on an older case at this point, videos take a lot more time than the website reviews, so I need to be picky ;)
just ordered this bad boy, after a whole week of reviews glad i did best decision i made
You pc or console? I'm considering ordering one tomorrow i only have a console but if I buy it now I'll have it when I do buy a pc

Thanks 😁
I got this monitor a few months ago and I love it. The only thing I don't like is the joystick power button. It is bit unpredictable but you get used to it. There is also some black smearing in certain instances. Really wish this had a remote as well.
You can plugin the monitor to your computer via USB and use the OSD Sidekick software so no need to use the joystick... also hope you use the "speed" response time mode to minimize black smearing
You sold me. Once they have them back up on amazon it is snag time! My robot will be pleased that his pupil cam feed will be displayed with such fine colors. XD
enjoy it!

My pleasure!
As much as your reviews are awesome, I must commend your video editing. It's really clean and professional on all of your content. Keep up the amazing work!

Definitely picking up two of them for a new rig!! Just to go with my triple MSI Optix MAG27CQ on my current system!!!
Only 2? 😂

I wish the Cv27f came in 1440p, its design is so much cooler and 27 inch just feels right for 1440p
nice! am using 27" and 31.5" will be awesome!
I have this monitor I got it on sale and honestly it’s a beautiful monitor I’m impressed, if your on the fence I’d recommend it.
Enjoy your new monitor 😁👍
@@TechTesters thank you! keep up the awesome reviews you guys are the best much love from australia 🙌
hmmm I might pick this one up next weekend. Looking to upgrade to 32 inch from a 24 inch. :)
Looks really awesome! And the monitor also looks nice ;-)
They could have made the stand like you said a little bit elegant = less amount of plastic, but on the other hand + side, it gives more stability to the monitor over all!
Yeah. I'd rather have stability than elegance if I had to choose too.
I bought tthis and returned it in about a weeek. It looks incredible, great size, but man the ghosting i had in my games was so bad
Did you play with the overdrive settings? It's pretty good for a VA. But if you can't stand it, you'll have to go to IPS.
Very nice review! Thank u!
Great review!! I really need your opinion on what to get from these 3 monitors:
- Gigabyte M32QC
- MSI Optix AG321CQR
- LG 32GP850-B
I’m not a gamer, I just want the monitor for home office and browsing, but I want the best performance for that.
Your help would be highly appreciated!!😊
I like the aesthetic of this monitor, it doesn't scream 'gaming' and would not look out of place in a professional setup. Personally for me however 32" is just too big for PC gaming :)
Perhaps in months ahead when the price has gone down a bit it will be a very good choice.
At $370, the price is already cheap. Making it a good choice now.
There's a 27" version, the G27QC. It has the same specs, save for the brightness, which is a bit lower. Also, the contrast is not as high, but it's still great.
Well i ordered 34 inch 144hz version of it 🚀 I can't wait till it arrives
@Sean Price yeah but how close to it are you? 50 inch is too big to be on your desk with a mouse and keyboard.
Another excellent review; thank you! I simply do not buy anything before checking your channel.
when she showed the image qaulity im sold
And, did you get one? :D
So the G32QC A is the bad version?
@@Kaiser187 ehh I was kinda wrong, I think the panel is the same but just different quality control. The monitor she received was probably cherry picked to be the best. Since I believe it's a review unit
@@ThelostPenguin0 These companies always do that. They aren't going to give them one with dead pixels and ton of back light bleed etc.
@@Kaiser187 Well it isn't as bad as other brands. Most other brands don't suddenly have 2000 extra contrast ratio. Even cherry picked ones. Multiple reviewers noted this ratio, but the reviewers who bought it like Ratings show a much more modest ratio.
@@ThelostPenguin0 I just bought it for $180. Bought 2 monitors in 2 days LOL. Probably going to sell it though.

I dont see any dead pixels?
you know, it doesn't fit my desk but I think It's sick af ^.^
Update, I just got it last week, fps games look smooth az. The colors look amazing, when the monitor is black it got some w and m shaped not so dark areas on the top and bottom of the screen. Also never had such a fast refresh monitor before so I got nothing to compare it to besides my 60hz one.
I'm sure when I start making bank and buy higher end monitors I'll see the difference
Until then I'll live in mindless bliss thinking I have the ultimate monitor setup ^.^
alright update, ghosting is real my guy, like ew u kno, extra bad on dark colors if you go into fps mode its not as bad. I unfortunately can't get into fps mode because my eyes don't last long in anything above 250-300 so sad hours. currently contemplating on looking for a smaller monitor or something the same size but better with handling the ghosting situation or become a big baller
anyway wish me luck!
I guess at 32" QHD will be the sweet spot.
great review, i have the 27" one, HDR indeed bring me lots of trouble, also the aim stablizer ..really
There arent many monitors that do HDR well, not until you spend a lot of money. Otherwise the 27" is nice too though, working on that atm.
Do you have similar contrast ? 1440p looks better in 27" but the contrast of that 37" is huge.
How’s the monitor been? Ghosting and dead pixels?
Great review, I just want to buy a new monitor for my desktop. Thx!
Thank you, and good luck picking :D
Did you buy it? How is the response time?
Please review the Samsung Odyssey G7 and G9.
I would really appreciate it if you would do so.

I feel like going from 24 inch 60hz TN with no sync features or hdr and with brightness of 250 to this model will be a huge difference.
i am planning to buy this monitor but i have a doubt Gigabyte G32QC will g sync compatiable with rtx 3060 or 3060ti?
Can you please review the ultrawide version of this monitor? It's the Gigabyte G34WQC
I'll try!
@@TechTesters thank you
Pretty impressive reviewer too. I’ve got the monitor. Thanks!
how is it?
@@ancientpiggybike3561 Great. Couldnt ask for more. The screen size is so immersive, especially with MSFS. There is some debate that 32” is to big for ESports but I’m not one of those. Some monitors of this size also have reports of screen wobble but this is fine on my desk. Hope that helps.
@@chrismacdonald.6295 Ah okay thank you, is the ghosting, backlight bleed, and response time as bad as people say?
@@ancientpiggybike3561 I don’t see any problems but I’m not an expert in these things. To me, the performance is fine. I’ve played MSFS, Wastelands 3, and Cyberpunk 2077. They all look fine.

Great review.
What will you recommend - Philips 328E1CA. Gigabyte G32QC or Dell S3222DGM?
Does 165Hz in this case also means max 165fps? I tested a 144hz Asus Rog (also 32" and QHD), and it got up to 200fps.
It means that the monitor can display up to 165 fps. Even if the fps is shown as being higher, a 144 or 165Hz panel can't actually show more fps than it's Hz rating.
How will ps5 work ? Can u pls review PS5 performance on this? Love from India
Please do a review of the Xiaomi Ultrawide Mi surface 34". Been hearing good things about this monitor, but I rely on your seal of approval first lol
Interesting! I'll see if I can grab one!
@@TechTesters awesome!
Great review... thanks! Have you done the G27QC also, or is the baby brother's spec & performance pretty much the same?

Hello, do you enjoy it more than 4k 60Hz?
Gigabyte g32qc, BenQ Ex3203r and Asus ROG Xg32vqr are around the same price in Taiwan. Which do you think is the better panel for HDR gaming, reading and HDR movie? Thanks!
The XG32VQR would be the best for just HDR, but it's still not really amazing HDR, and the G32QC would be better imho for all-round use. That would be my choice anyway, but they're all "good", so if you find a better price, or really like the design, you can choose any.
@@TechTesters Which monitor has the less smearing? Thanks!
Thank you for amazing video.
Can you please advise which is the best settings for gaming on ps5 or any other console.
Will you be doing a vid on the Dell S2721DGF? Only one review out there right now and monitor looks so promising.
I'll see if I can grab one. But Dell monitors are really hard to get hold off here in the Netherlands . Tell Dell socials that they should send one over 😂
@@TechTesters hahaha cool
Watching the gameplay that you show in this monitor, I see a little bit of ghosting. I think I will stick my PG278QR 165hz TN panel for now. I was looking for something bigger, because I would like a bigger screen for gaming. But, motion blur or ghosting is something I REALLY DON'T like in gaming monitors.
You can't judge ghosting from my b-roll, typical cameras really aren't fast enough to capture that properly. :)
But the PG278QR will be faster still.
Is there somewhere to find best calibrate settings for this monitor for gaming
I think they wont add that the monitor is g-sync compatible because they need to buy a liscense from nvidia to be allowed to say it. And so gigabyte and many other dont say thats it has gsync but it has (unofficially). And if they would the monitors would be more exspensive too.
Good review. Curious to know how the hdr400 performance in hdr capable movies and games.
Ok got this purely based on your review and I can say I am very pleased with the purchase
