Review matches my experience with the monitor too. Basically only way I could get a better monitor for my purposes would be to pay ~1,500 for a high end IPS monitor (and even then there'd still be some compromises this one doesn't make.) I will mention that it is not worth setting it to 10 bit output color depth. I the actual panel is 8 bit (though it can process 10 and 12 bit inputs) and the only real effect this has is to enforce GPU dithering for >8 bit. The cost is that it lowers the max refresh rate to 120hz (not a panel limit, but a DP1.2 and HDMI 2.0 limitation it looks like). At 120hz the ghosting and smear become significantly more noticeable. At 165 hz ghost and smear are noticeable when scrolling white text on completely back background, but the text is steal legible in motion. At 120hz the text becomes unreadable and fade-in/fade-out of bright objects on dark background is distracting. Basically - if you leave the monitor settings alone, enable HDR in win 10 and set Win 10 SDR adjustment to 90-100 it's great. One of those weird monitors where the manufacturer's out of the box settings are also basically exactly what they need to be. Also suggested to use DisplayPort so you can use HDR, G-Sync, and full-range color without dropping to 60 or 120 hz.
As a media designer, I have used many screens in my life. Still I was looking for a new gaming monitor for such a long time now... and then I came across the Gigabyte G32QC. The monitor blows my mind, what a great price to performance, I am absolutely satisfied.
I purchased this monitor before watching this video and I am impressed with the monitor. I just set the refresh rate to 165hz, and adjust the gamma and put HDR on. I do notice a softness to the resolution but it does not affect my overall feeling for this monitor. I almost bought a 1000R monitor, but coming from a purely flat monitor (42"), I did not want to overwhelm myself with such an aggressive curve. Perhaps in the future when price come down, I may purchase a 34" 1000R curved gaming monitor. I also need to upgrade my GPU, which right now is an EVGA Geforce 1050 Ti 4Gb DDR5, but I want to go up to 8Gb and better resolution.
You forgot to mention the ability to store 3 custom presets on the monitor with the build in menu, OSD Sidekick doesn't include that plus some other options.

I just read your article on this monitor, what did you change apart from gamma when you calibrated the monitor? I have one coming and have never calibrated one before and am not that keen to buy a calibration device.
I researched that AOC quite a bit. It looks solid, but is 100 nits less bright than the gigabyte, so it made the choice easy for me. If you don't care about brightness though, the AOC would be a great choice.
Yep, it works great for editing, that's what I bought it for. The color accuracy is great. The only concern you may have is that it's curved, of which can make creating graphics that use straight lines a little tough for some, but it hasn't bothered me. I prefer the curve over not having one. It's a great monitor, highly recommend.
Getting a Aorus Master RTX3080 and have been looking at monitors for nearly 3 days straight now, your review I think has just sold me on one of these, coming from a Asus VG278QR should be a nice upgrade
