Especially tracks like these where everyone is visually, dying to see what the original artist played. This was absolutely FLAWLESS. Amazing. This highlights just how amazing Vinnie Colaiuta was/is as a drummer… for him to create such a beautiful drum track, in the studio. Amazing. What a guy. Can you imagine being the engineer on that track and hearing that coming through the control room speakers for the first time 🤯 That song has transcended more than the song in and of itself. It’s literally become mostly about it’s drum track. That’s how big Vinnies contribution was. You did this so much justice 👏🏼

It is my opinion that this is one of the three best songs ever written (the others being Here Comes the Sun and the Ballad of Curtis Loew). Not that I could detract from your flawless execution but... I played this song with my band and, although I didn't play it note perfect, I did sing AND play it.

I’m so in love with the drumming in this song. One video suggested the time signature of the drums is in 7 as apposed to the rest of the tune and vocals that are in 5/4 which means Vinnie is playing over the bar. I’m a crap keyboard player and a so so vocalist. Can anybody who understands music theory tell me whether this is why this song is such genius and unique piece of music?
Damn, I'd give ANYTHING to play like this!!! There are a lot of songs I'd love to be able to play but you can only do so much without proper techniques. Techniques you can't get teaching yourself. I'm 53 and wished I would have taken band when I was in school. I could have learned to read music and learned all of the foundation to play like this!!!
