    If you want to play the drums accurately, you use a metronome. If you want the metronome to be accurate, you use Jonathan Moffett.

      It is called "Rolling-shutter" and is very common among todays cameras because most read only one line at a time. In the future more cameras will have a global shutter.

      @@BrooklynBigAl i mean its also not impossible not to achieve a sound thats almost identical with such a straight beat. That goes for majority of instruments, you just have to practice and have very sharp ears for small details. Having a video of the song being played perfectly by the artist himself makes learning it easier as well.

      @J Medrano Turns out a lot of the original tracks used drum machines but Jonathan Moffett drummed for him live to do them when I looked into it a bit, so this joke is backwards, he was so good he was used to replace a machine.

    Never thought I'd enjoy watching a drummer just play a straight beat. But this is more satisfying than most drum solos or jazz drummers

      Yes, this is old school good drumming, like the stuff Steve Gadd used to do and you didn't even realize how skilled it was until you saw him at a drum clinic. Billy Cobham is similar. Tour drummer for Phil Collins. Dude is beast just like this drummer.
