Thank you for this! I followed your directions exactly, using the "paper+alcohol wipes stapled on" approach, and it worked great! Paper is feeding and printer works perfectly, after not being used for literally YEARS. Awesome! :) Thanks again.
I want to say thanks. I'm an Ebay seller panicking because I couldn't print postage labels off. Watched this, and it's all sorted works like new thanks again for a fantastic video, I used a thick napkin and window cleaner ( I don't have any beads ), worked fantastic thanks
Omg this worked thank you!! I called Canon and they were like well it looks like you'll need to buy a new printer. Never mentioned this once! Instead of the wipes I used a little isopropyl alcohol on a microfiber towel inserted with a ruler to clean the roller inside the paper slot and inside the machine. Worked like a charm! Ty so much for saving me some money I was about to go buy a new printer!!
Thank you so much! This truly worked and fixed my issue. I tried calling canon and couldn’t speak with anyone. So thank you for creating this content for trouble shooting paper issues!!! 😊
I was skeptical but this worked!! Hadn’t used my printer in months and thought it was a lost cause. Did the paper towel with window cleaner version. Thank you!
Thank you so much! I've been searching for hours on how to fix this on my MG3250 and this worked!!! It took a couple of cleanings, but it's finally printing without me having to feed it. ❤
I tried your method and had great success. One thing I did different was after I ran process couple times... I added a couple sheets of paper under paper with pads to raise pads tighter to rollers. When I did that it picked up more black. I believed that helped. Thanks again.
Bless you. Tears of joy. I did it with no results at first, then I thickened the paper load and it worked! I used a piece of moleskin that has adhesive backing and worked like a little sponge.
Thank you! This helped me. Paper was stuck inside the printer and I didn't know how to open it. Accessing the feeding mechanism on the back was a super easy solution!
Awesome work my man, worked like a charm. I used a microfiber towel and a ruler then poured some rubbing alcohol onto the tip of the ruler and worked it under the roller and bottom surface. Ditto for the roller in the back but using my finger instead. Thank you!
Thanks. This 50% worked, but it kept stopping after a few sheets. I solved it by tilting the printer back at 45 degrees, so the paper falls into the feeder.
I had completely lost hope and in the process of going way over budget on a new computer and monitors i was like whats anothe 80 bucks on a printer. Well sir thanks for saving me this 80 dollars. Works perfectly and maybe now i will use the printer more often.
Thank you so much for this! It did work. However, I had a problem as my printer sucked in the entire paper with the wipes stapled on and I instinctively pulled it and tore the paper! So it jammed completely and I had to open the printer in the back and use tweezers to pull out the peaces of paper with the staples and wipes... It was a mess. Luckily, everything ended well! And I no longer have the initial nor any problems! Yay! 😀
Thank you! We taped a paper towel soaked with a bit of disinfectant spray to the tip of a piece of A4 watercolour paper and it worked! Canon MX390 series printer
Thank you. I didn't staple, but when I slightly swabbed a single sheet of the paper with the alcohol strips, it worked fine since alcohol evaporates so fast. After two passes, everything was fine
Facing the same problem myself (with a Canon Pixma MG5750), I had to find a "softer" solution. Here it is: simply unplug your printer, turn it on its back, so the underbelly is facing upwards. Slide the floor of the upside-down paper cartridge out to its full extent (as you would if you were inserting a stack of sheets of paper). This will reveal the first dual-roller unit that is failing to pull in paper. In this position, they can be rolled freely. Now, take a 15cm strip of sticky tape (known to some as Sellotape or Tesa-Film) and loop it around one of the rubber ribbed rollers with the sticky surface in contact with roller, holding the ends of the tape between the thumb and forefinger of each hand. Ensuring that the tape is seated flat against the rubber roller, proceed to gently and evenly draw the tape back and forth from one end to the other, rolling the roller as you go. You will notice the sticky tape plucking the dust and dirt from the roller. Repeat as often as necessary, but three times should be enough. Repeat on the other side. For good measure, lightly dip a fine, not too soft artist's paintbrush (5-8 mm wide) in some isopropyl alchohol cleaner and brush from side to side over the surface of the rubber rollers and through the ridges on them. Let the cleaner evaporate and you're done! Carefully flip the printer over, making sure various flaps and covers don't drop open. Reconnect the mains lead. Switch on. Place paper in the cartridge. Print as normal.
My 3rd MG3620 in 6 years. In fairness, I bought on in Budapest for a 3 month stay and left it for the landlord. The machine just quit picking up the paper. As I had paid $49 for it 3 years ago, it seemed to have met my requirements for cost of use and reliability. I had bought a "back up " two yeas ago for fear of rising prices and a need to not be without a backup (OCD can do strange things). I took me 3 days to get the newer printer tork in wireless mode but . now, it does. I'm afraid to toss the older machine thinking that I might be able to fix the paper feed problem (why I wanted to replace it) Thanks
Any idea on how to fix the same issue, but caused by the rolls' spring being weak? More precisely, on how to reach those rolls' platform in the first place to stick a sponge there in order to force it down
Yeah, I wanted to try the sponge solution too, but with the mg3150 you can't open the bottom. Try putting 2 books under the front of your printer so that it tilts backwards at 30 degrees. It worked for me.
@@jsmith498 I will try that in the future if needed. So far another "solution" did the trick for me: I am using a thicker stack of paper in the feeder.
This worked for me. Cleaning that is! I have a Pixma MG4120 and all i did was take a hand sanitize wipe that i have plenty of (thanks covid)...took a butter knife...wrapped the wipe around the knife and proceeded to stick it into the roller and swirl that wipe around. Presto! Cleano! That printer slurped up that paper like snot! 🤣
Thanks a lot for this video The paper stuck in the middle And I’m trying to to put the paper. And finally get the stuck paper out But the copy not work I’m feel like the paper going to far inside) The roller cannot pick up the paper How do I do for it work? Thanks so much
The printer may need the settings changed to plain paper. If prints are taking way too long, the settings are not correct on the computer or phone. Most likely, you have it set to special paper such as photo brochure paper. It needs to be set to plain paper. And check quality settings. It should be "normal" or "regular" quality. It may be set to "photo" or "best photo" quality. Those settings also drain your ink dramatically more than regular prints. Like 10 times more ink. Let me know if that was the problem or not. Thanks.
Thanks for the great, easy to understand vid, but unfort this didn't work for me, not sure why (will take to i.t guy in shop, more $ to spend (& damn it, of course I'd just put new ink cartridge in, those things arent cheap either)

That's great. I'm an ebay seller as well, and I know the printer can mess up your day quick. Glad you got it fixed. Thank you for sharing.

Just made my 11 year old printer work again with this. You’re a legend

I used a piece of moleskin that has adhesive backing and worked like a little sponge.
That's awesome! I know it's a great feeling. Thank you very much for sharing! 😃
You sir, are a lifesaver. Thank you soo muchh for this. You explained it so well with every detail. You're amazing.
If that doesn't fix it, is there anything else I can try before I buy a new one?
This ACTUALLY worked!!!! Thank you so much! I was skeptical but it did indeed work!
Wow, you just saved me a bunch of money.
I was all ready to buy a new printer.
Thanks heaps.
You are welcome! I'm glad you got it fixed. Have a great weekend!
Probably should've watched this video BEFORE I bashed and insulted my printer 🤣. Thanks, it really helped! 👍🏼👍🏼

Oh my gosh, such an easy fix that worked! I was afraid I’d have to take it apart 🥲
I'm glad you got it fixed. Have a great day!
The printer is so poorly made. Got so angry took it upstairs and threw it out the window
Well that must've been fun. LOL. I'm sorry. It is a very inexpensive printer, so I can't expect much from it.
Worked for 2 other non-canon printers that weren’t working. Thanks!
Thank you so much! This is so much cheaper than having to replace a printer - lol!
Bravo .... confirmed the fix , it worked for my mx512
