I know this was filmed like 5 years ago... but I am coming here to say YOU ARE A LIFESAVER! My printer wasn't grabbing my paper so I did the cardboard trick and I had a peanut shell stuck in mine (I am notorious for setting my plates/bowls on top). THANKS SO MUCH!
This actually fixed my printer. I am stunned. I have been angry for months over not being able to print. I was cursing Canon's name. But jamming some cardboard through it and making it sound like I was unlocking the gates of Hades solved my problem. Thanks for your help!

Mine was a screw... Awesome trick with the cardboard, worked for me. I cut a piece that matched the size of the paper I am using. So only had to do one pass. Don't sell yourself short, the "experts" kept giving me guides on how to remove a paper jam 😒. Thanks a million.

Out of the millions of RUclips videos I've watched on DIY (projects) never in my life would think my printer would turn out better than it started with the noises coming from the cardboard... but somehow I dislodged a felt furniture footpad from my printer. This how changed my life and perception on DIY for the rest of my life.
I honestly didn't think it would work, but I needed to print something for class so I gave it a shot. I cleaned it with cotton and alcohol, shook it, and still nothing! I did the cardboard trick, and it turns out key entire necklace was in there? and now the printer and the necklace are fine!! thank you so much hidee!!!

I would never have believed it, but you just solved my problem -- and saved me $100+ in the process. Tried your cardboard trick and discovered that a small piece of plastic had fallen into the printer. (I'd broken one of those plastic mats you use under a rolling office chair. Long story...) YES!! Had first discovered an opened paperclip laying in the paper tray. I removed it easily with my fingers so I couldn't figure out why the printer still wasn't feeding. Worked on it for days and never imagined there was actually another culprit. Didn't have cardboard so folded paper in half and shoved it on one side and it fed. So then I tried a full sheet and out came a tiny scrap of a post it note that had been stuck inside. THANK YOU!!!!!

I just did the trick with the cardboard now that I seen this review and now it works. I’m amazed because all this time it’s been down and I was waiting on my warranty claim for my printer so I could be refunded or issued a new one. But now I fixed it lol thanks for the video!
There was a CRAYON stuck in mines! I knew I heard something move inside! I only heard it move once though. The thing is I could only see it after tilting my printer back in forth, upside down, then I had to push the rollers back to see it. That clean the paper feed roller stuff the companies tell us is a myth unless you are seriously abusing your printer. Had this printer for years and never had to clean anything inside. Lol wow, I want to be exact with this testimony. My printer was acting up due a wipe packaged towelette/wipe getting down in there and I got it out before I watched the video. When I went to print something it didn't work. I used the cotton ball and it didn't work, then the cardboard and it still didn't work, but once I shook it, it worked perfectly fine. OMG this video was such a lifesaver!
I got to be honest… when I watched you shoving cardboard in your printer, I seriously thought you were nuts. But I had nothing to lose at this point with this printer of mine. Other than the $35 ink cartridge I just bought 2 days ago. After several attempts using a cardboard microwave dinner box and a thick birthday card, out came a No. 2 pencil. I am AMAZED!!!!!!! After trying for more than an hour and ready to give up i opened the printer and saw something foreign (elastic band) stuck in area where paper should pass through. YAY! I tried the cardboard trick and stuffed it into the left roller and out came a pumpkin seed with the cardboard!!!! Then I could test print a page and the other half of the seed came out with the page!! Works perfectly now THANKYOU

Phenomenally helpful, thank you. I had accidentally broken the rear printer "tray" (that holds the paper up) which I thought was totally inconsequential. Turns out the little nub/hinge that allows that tray to rotate had indeed fallen into the printer. Cardboard did the track. THANKS!

We had the same issue! A piece of my fake fingernail was in there (when I was sitting next to the printer, I clipped off a piece of lifting fingernail and I guess it landed right in the paper feed). We never would have thought to look for something jamming the feed without this video! THANK YOU!

It fixed my problem............At my end, I found a paint brush inside ...........perhaps my kid would have dropped it.....and that was preventing the paper getting picked and rolled .........Thanks for your video.

I honestly thought I was crazy for trusting a random lady on the internet with fixing my printer. It was this, or a new printer. When you got to the cardboard section, I was thinking "NO effing WAY!" Either way, I put my faith in you random internet lady and after shoving cardboard into the mouth of my printer and yanking it through what sounded like all 9 layers of Dante's Inferno, IT WORKS. I got to be honest… when I watched you shoving cardboard in your printer, I seriously thought you were nuts. But I had nothing to lose at this point with this printer of mine. Other than the $35 ink cartridge I just bought 2 days ago. After several attempts using a cardboard microwave dinner box and a thick birthday card, out came a No. 2 pencil. I am AMAZED!!!!!!! Thanks so much. My mother in law began using a printer for the first time which warranty was already expired. I used your card board trick and out pops the cap of a ink pen. Problem solved and mother in-law is thrilled!!!
Thank you, thought i would have to throw out printer with brand new inks. Wasn't even sure if i could find a video to help resolve the problem. After trying for more than an hour and ready to give up i opened the printer and saw something foreign (elastic band) stuck in area where paper should pass through. Simple but powerful illustration or demonstration.

YAY! I tried the cardboard trick and stuffed it into the left roller and out came a pumpkin seed with the cardboard!!!! Then I could test print a page and the other half of the seed came out with the page!! Works perfectly now THANKYOU

Phenomenally helpful, thank you. I had accidentally broken the rear printer "tray" (that holds the paper up) which I thought was totally inconsequential. Turns out the little nub/hinge that allows that tray to rotate had indeed fallen into the printer. Cardboard did the track. THANKS!

Worked perfect, took about five minutes to fix. Had a triple A battery stuck in it that we could not see but it fell out after running the cardboard in it a couple times. Thank you so much
LMFAO 2 yrs. Later... Was having problems with my Cannon printer. Went online tried everything suggested, nothing worked. Saw your vid. I thought that has to be my problem. Sure enough cardboard trick worked. Found a twist tie in printer. Thanks.😊
Another satisfied viewer! Mine was making a grinding sound when trying to feed in the paper. I didn't see or hear anything pop out, but after sticking some cardboard in there, it started working!

Homeschool momma here. Just want to say thank you! I have the same printer and I just got a dinosaur out of the back and was having the same issue with the paper. Just done the cardboard trick and it worked perfect.
We had the same issue! A piece of my fake fingernail was in there (when I was sitting next to the printer, I clipped off a piece of lifting fingernail and I guess it landed right in the paper feed). We never would have thought to look for something jamming the feed without this video! THANK YOU!

OMG!! At first I was like.. 'uhhhh, isn't that going to break my printer' so i tried a greeting card to make it less scary. To my surprise there really was something stuck inside it same as what happened to this one. Thanks a lot. Saved me money for having it getting fixed and I didn't have to buy a new one!

It fixed my problem............At my end, I found a paint brush inside ...........perhaps my kid would have dropped it.....and that was preventing the paper getting picked and rolled .........Thanks for your video.

THANK YOU! A piece of cardboard from the original packaging had fallen into the printer. The cardboard trick worked--just be aware, this creates an awful noise while doing its job.

I honestly thought I was crazy for trusting a random lady on the internet with fixing my printer. It was this, or a new printer. When you got to the cardboard section, I was thinking "NO effing WAY!" Either way, I put my faith in you random internet lady and after shoving cardboard into the mouth of my printer and yanking it through what sounded like all 9 layers of Dante's Inferno, IT WORKS. My printer is alive and printing....Thank you random internet lady. You are a gem and you deserve a job at whatever printing company you want.

OMG. i was planning to have my printer sent for repair. It was a mystery to us cuz it the printer was a birthday gift from a friend and she only used it once. Turns out there was tiny twig inside. We have no idea how it got there but THANK U 😆
