Whatched dozens of videos "explaining" how to georreference a GE image, but this is by far the only video to really explain it, using more precise methods.
To avoid using a pen and a paper , you can simply create placemarks on Google Earth ( preferably round shaped ) - before - saving the image , therefore marking 4 points , and then by clicking ' Properties ' in Google Earth it displays the exact coordinates of each placemark .
Great Job! I wear hearing aids and I often have a hard time following along because the sound quality sucks and the captions are brutal. So appreciate your simple captions:) Thanks for your help!
really thank you for the video tomorrow my professor wants to ask me about Georeferencing google earth images on arcgis while he knows my father is dead recently and I am so sad can't even talk well :'/ but this video helped me so much
thanks for the very clear steps but i'd recommend NOT to use UPDATE at the end of the project, better yet use RECTIFY. therefore, the original image we started working on, wouldn't be REPLACED! rather the rectify, keeps a copy of the original. especially when working on images bought from NASA or else where!
nice video!! do you know any program or plugin for ArcGIS in which you give the coordinates as shown in google earth and convert them in other projected systems? National grids to me more specific... Thanks! :)
Hi when I right click to add control points, the "Input DMS lon and lat" option is inactive. How to activate it? however, the X and Y option is active but how to find X and Y in Google earth? many thanks
i am still struggling with georeferencing a google image. I saved an image from google pro. Then opened in ArcMap, followed the steps....while i am giving the control points, the image gets distorted so badly....what might be the problem? can anyone help on this..? Spatial reference given for the image is WGS 1984, and am also converting the degrees, min,sec into decimal degrees so that I can easily work on it. But the moment I give the second control point, the image distorts very badly...I really cant understand what is the problem..? can anyone help me out..????
I have a problem. I do everything like you say, but when I click Update georeferencing my map is not straight. What can be the problem and how can I solve it?

hy bro do you know how to find "dept to hard rock data" for a region by using ARC GIS , Please let me know
because the scale taken from Google earth would be affected by the heights and the 3D view of the ground!
