A lot of people don't realize how difficult it is to play "metal" -- maintaining that level of rapid intensity -- and the amount of talent required to do it right and keep it tight. Bruce Dickinson is one of the top 3-4 rock vocalists of all time.

Cool of you to notice Steve Harris' exceptional bass playing! He is truly one of the most influential bassists in heavy rock, or any genre. Of course he has an advantage in that he's the one writing the absolute majority of the songs, including "Hallowed be thy name", so in a way the music is tailor-made to fit his bass playing just as much as vice versa 🙂

Needless to say, the standing room only crowd on the floor didn't like this and proceeded to rabbit punch the shit out me for the 75 feet that I made it. I really love how you seem to be reacting and taken in by my all-time favorite bands! Uriah Heep, Iron Maiden ... I'm sure you'll get to the rest of them eventually, if you haven't already: the likes of Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Judas Priest, Motörhead, Accept ... Yes, there are of course heaps of amazing newer bands too, but starting at the beginning is never a bad idea. Not sure if you've got to the very godfather of hard rock himself yet, the late great Jimi Hendrix, but you'll get there too, I'm sure.
And Thin Lizzy. Man, if you haven't listened to Thin Lizzy yet, I'm sure you'll have a blast. Their late great leader, singer, bassist and chief songwriter Phil Lynott was in his time, literally, the only black Irishman in the world, and he was backed up by a dueling guitarist duo from the US and Scotland respectively, and an Irish jazz virtuoso on the drums. How's that for a melting pot? A sound and a groove unique in history.
Don't forget Heart either - such an amazing example of superlative female talent in the heavy rock genre.
OK, I'll stop ranting, and just let you keep reacting. So fun to have you with us on this heavy rock journey, and if you ever decide to become one of us on a permanent basis, we'll be overjoyed to have you!

Not that there is any shame but many have to use a pick to keep up which just shows he is on another level. He also has written much of the extensive catalogue of songs they have. He's a big history buff which is why so many historical themes as well as battles come up. The singer is Bruce Dickinson. He's a certified airline pilot who flies them internationally. He also beat cancer just to top off being an absolutely phenomenal singer.

This was the first time an audience heard this song, as the album was released a few days later. So new singer, new song, album not released yet. No internet. Which makes the performance even more stunning. 70's, 80's, 90's, 00's, 10's and 20's. Their latest album should be checked out 'The Writing on the Wall' is another great song and can show you even after playing in six different decades the band has still got it. I got to see them again this last year for the 5th decade. Still one of the best live bands of all time. So many other live songs of Iron Maiden you can check out. Cool guys too. One of the guitar players left the band for a while, so he was replaced. When he chose to come back they kept the new guy rather than can him, so now they're running with three guitar players. #tegrity #MetalSkynyrd

I would just like to say that the Phrase UP THE IRONS is sod all to do with Maiden it comes from Steve’s love of West Ham United whoo started out as Thames Iron Works FC hence the chants Come on you Irons and Up the irons ⚒

Not only a great Basist, Composer, but Steve Harris has the advantage of being a history Buff and has gotten a lot of inspiración for many of the songs from history books, poems etc, The trooper and Aces high are some of those great examples as they are based on historical battles

Some people challenge themselves to hold a note as long as Bruce does in this song and many succeed or surpass it and feel like yeah it ain't that hard. Okay, now get on stage and sing with as much power and then after that belt out that note with that range and that volume/diction/velocity and sustain it... it's a whoooole different story. Even i can go Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh forever, completely different when you have to belt it out loud and control the vocal muscles at the same time and to hold the right note.

Yeah, Steve Harris uses the "correct finger placement" on the strumming hand. Not everyone has the strength to do it, hitting the G with your pinky...I'm not afraid to admit, my hands never had the strength to do it. He doesn't use, nor need a Pick and if you watch his strumming-hand, it's closer to Spanish Classical guitar than anything else and people that can do it open up huge avenues of agility and movement, and Harris is definitely one of the most agile bass-players we've ever had in the West. I would argue, for what little my opinion matters, that one of the main reasons Maiden became such a juggernaut was the way Steve played bass, it creates a sound that's almost like funk "pluck-bass" but restricted to bar-and-meter so you get this weird effect of it not quite being heard, but always underpinning, che-chug-che-chug-che-chug, like a train steadfast on the track. That's my penny's worth on the matter, I grew up listening to Maiden, awesome band.

*Hallowed Be Thy Name One of My Favourite Song. ❤️❤️❤️*
Steve Harris (founder of this band) is a legendary bass player. In this video first solo played by Dave Murray & second was Adrian Smith. Drummer - Clive Burr, Vocalist - Bruce Dickinson. He is a multi talented person. If u want to know more about him & also this greatest band then don't forget to visit wikipedia. I'll suggest you to react all songs of Beast Over Hammersmith 1982 & Rock in Rio 2001 live performance. It sounds weird but their maximum song's live version is better than studio version. All bands members are very talented & energetic. I'm a maiden fan from India.
Lots of love 💕. UP THE IRONS. 🤟🔥🤟
