Bruce still holds the title of "Air Raid Siren" in my book and given I have seen them nearly 30 times, I must say he doesn't appear to be slowing down. Up the Irons!
Iron Maiden was way beyond your typical hair band ,they were somthing much more ..their concerts were a combination of a play ,a musical, an Oprah ect..with the whole show telling the story of the album. Everything rapped up into one ..the instrumentals were brilliant..amazing vocals and the absolute best bass player in the world . Brings back memories of the best days in my life ,you can still catch me in my car today blasting Iron Maiden, it never gets old. Iron Maiden had millions of fans all over the world and I imagine they still do to this day ..
Though I’ve been a fan of Maiden for decades, I’ve never had as much appreciation for this song as I do now, after watching your reaction video! Thanks so much!!
Agreed. In general, the entire Somewhere in Time-album is an absolute gem. track by track, strongest Maiden album ever. I love the vibe of the album as well. You really get the feel fo this cold and mysterious world out in space ;)
Most definitely the BEST vocal coach reaction to this track I've ever seen/heard. Not only did you dissect Bruce's voice flawlessly, but your appreciation of the skill level the other members of the band achieved throughout this performance is a testament to how well rounded your knowledge is of music in general. Well done.
@Gard Lucas Egeberg have you heard the Sweet Oblivion featuring Geoff Tate album yet? Pretty good stuff, one of the better albums of 2019 so far, in my opinion. Geoff sounds great on it :)
Beautiful analysis of why Bruce Dickinson is an ageless timeless singer ! Voice, Technique, Stage Presence he has it all. Backed up by one of the greatest heavy metal bands of all time. This song is a masterpiece and you just nailed it as to why it is so !
The 2 things that always stand out to me for all Iron Maiden songs are the OUTSTANDING musical talent and INSANE showmanship!!! Going to an Iron Maiden concert was a marathon that left you exhausted and ampped at the same time. JUST WOW!!!!!
This is one of the best reaction videos on an Iron Maiden song. You really appreciate the skill and musicianship and you go over the technical aspects of the song and Bruce's vocal performance. Bravo! Well done!
The nickname was actually an insult after Paul dianno left and fans weren't used to the new singing style, someone wrote a letter to the iron maiden offices and said how dare you replace our favourite singer and ruin our favourite songs with these horrible air raid siren vocals. They liked it and used the insult as a positive
@@thetranya3589 well let's be honest Paul was better on the early stuff and they couldn't have done the sort of albums they did after killers had Bruce not been there.
what a great review. I have been a Maiden fan for years and to see someone who doesn't necessarily listen to this music get such appreciation and enjoyment from it as well as point out the nuances of the vocal talent was so enjoyable Thank you
Great reaction to Iron Maiden - Hallowed Be Thy Name (live) . Showing your Metal side Tara very cool. 🤘Fear Of The Dark (Live ) From RIO is Amazing check out that one .
So you opened the Metal Gate... prepare for an avalanche of requests from some of the very best vocalists/performers/bands to have ever existed! Great, great reaction and analysis. Really loved your video. Greetings from Argentina!
30+ years after that performance and they're still killing it live. Bruce even teased at the closing of this past show in Charlotte, NC about possibly new music. Another new album and tour would be most welcome!
Thank you Tara for demonstrating, once again, that you are a true music lover. Most people only like one or two genres but claim to love music. The reality is, there is excellent music to be found in all genres.
They are amazing in concert. Best concerts I've ever seen live. It's not a concert as much as it is an experience. The costumes and effects are incredible. You just became a Maiden fan! Bruce is also a world-class fencer and pilot who flies the band's jetliner.
Tara is really into what Bruce is doing, from a vocal aspect to performance and breaks it down well. I grew up with Maiden and knew how good and influential it was as a musician...but to watch and hear it now on a video like this of Dickenson in the early 80's it is shocking how good he really was back then. It should be remembered there were no in-ear monitors at that time, and Dickenson doesn't fall off a note even remotely anywhere. I love how she talks about how into the performance the band is and how committed they are emotionally and physically...I think when you see shows of current artists today many of them mimic that but aren't truly there. That's what separates a lot of these classic groups from the modern ones...you can just feel it coming off of that grainy video of them from almost 40 years ago.
Loved that reaction, u really got that song, the singing, the riffs, the fact that it was performed live. And as many others below have said I'm sure, one of the greatest songs of all time, hehe...
I really enjoyed her reaction to this video, and I like how SHE INCLUDED THE BAND,,,,,,THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THAT. Sometimes it's not always about one member,,, sometimes it takes more than one.
Good ol' Bruce. My all time favorite singer and frontman of my favorite band of all time. Modern day Renaissance man too, licensed pilot, author, singer, businessman, cancer survivor, almost Olympic level fencer, you name it, he does it, and excels at it. His performance on "Hallowed Be Thy Name" is almost as great as the record, itself a fantastic performance. Wish I could sing like he does, but alas, I am a guitar player, and the guitar is my voice.
25 years after this was recorded, Iron Maiden is still touring and still bringing this same energy and talent to the stage. They were pioneers in bringing their show to places other bands ignored, building a massive worldwide following. I highly recommend you watch the documentary Iron Maiden Flight 666 to see just how hard these guys work at being the greatest touring metal band off all time.
To be fair this was 1983, Bruce Dickinson had just joined Iron Maiden and this is very early on in their career, they were still learning their craft! Rio 2001 to half a million people Bruce held that long note at the end for about a minute! Even the drummer was leaning over the kit giving him props haha such an amazing band!
The thing we should remember is Bruce did this night after night for 192 2hr concerts on one nonstop world tour, he could sustain that singing somewhat endlessly!
Next time you should check out Bruce Dickinson Tears of the Dragon with Tribuzy. Probably one of the best his performance and the most beautifull his own song.
Ugh wow this video makes me so proud to be a fan! I saw maiden live a week ago for their legacy of the beast tour and I was blown away. They sound even better live than on a recording 😩
Children of the Damned, also.sheer perfection. There's something strange about his voice on that, like it's erupting in the very core but sides are solid so the lava stays inside and that 'beam' of sound races through the soul of the listener. So awesome.Studio version.
Hi Tara, if you enjoyed Iron Maiden, you should definitely listen to Dio or Black Sabbath with Ronnie James Dio on vocals. Maybe the most skillful metal singers ever. RIP
as someone not interested in being a singer, this was a fun and interesting watch, just appreciating what makes my favorite singers great. thanks for the video!
I remember the concert for this tour. It was Judas Priest ..Sceaming for Veangeance/ Iron Maiden..Number of the Beast in a double bill at Madison Square Garden. It is one of the best concerts I have ever seen. And trust me ,I have seen so many shows, I really cannot name them all. I used to keep all my ticket stubs as a teenager, and they were pinned around the various band posters I had covering my bedroom. And I have seen Maiden about 8 or 9 times. I really liked this show, and the Powerslave tour concertwith Scorpions opening up for them. \m/ get up those Horns!!!!!!
Bruce, man of many talents, master of each, nearly went to the olympics for the uk in fencing, has licence to fly commercial airplanes and flies Airforce Edd the Iron Maiden 747 used for their tours and he flies it himself. man's a legend
Steve Harris the bassist is an amazing musician. He writes most of the songs and watching him live while he lip syncs all the songs make the concerts the best ever. Best live metal ever. Great to see a pro appreciate talent. Thank you.
Iron Maiden are still such a great band to see live, they joke around on stage, even play football sometimes, they have an 8-foot mascot that comes on stage, and the music is fantastic! Maiden have really amazing crowds too, always singing along, all brilliant people.

Though I’ve been a fan of Maiden for decades, I’ve never had as much appreciation for this song as I do now, after watching your reaction video! Thanks so much!!
The dude who founded Metal Blade Records says this is the "Perfect Song" His quote.
The bass player, Steve Harris, is the main songwriter and founder of the band.
Steve is the main man🍀

Agreed. In general, the entire Somewhere in Time-album is an absolute gem. track by track, strongest Maiden album ever. I love the vibe of the album as well. You really get the feel fo this cold and mysterious world out in space ;)
i love this vocal breakdown so much. i come back and listen to her every few months just to see her appreciation of bruce and maiden as a whole
Most definitely the BEST vocal coach reaction to this track I've ever seen/heard. Not only did you dissect Bruce's voice flawlessly, but your appreciation of the skill level the other members of the band achieved throughout this performance is a testament to how well rounded your knowledge is of music in general. Well done.
Queensrÿche - Take Hold Of The Flame (live in Tokyo 1984)
A young Geoff Tate was a vocal god back then.
I adore Queensryche. Any songs from that show would be great to see. That entire show can be found on RUclips and in great condition.
And Geoff are still just as good today, saw him just a year back and he was spot on!!
@Gard Lucas Egeberg have you heard the Sweet Oblivion featuring Geoff Tate album yet? Pretty good stuff, one of the better albums of 2019 so far, in my opinion. Geoff sounds great on it :)
Tate was absolutely inhuman back then. The vocal on Take Hold Of The Flame still gives me chills.
i think it's fantastic that experts are recognising rock for once as an art form and not just ignoring it well done you
Beautiful analysis of why Bruce Dickinson is an ageless timeless singer !
You really appreciate the skill and musicianship and you go over the
technical aspects of the song and Bruce's vocal performance.
Bravo!
Well done!
bruce has the nickname 'air raid siren' for a reason. he also once shattered a crystal chandelier, possibly the root of how he got the nickname
@@alexjohnston8889 Yep, nothing ruins a band like replacing your singer with one of the greatest rock singers of all-time!
@@thetranya3589 well let's be honest Paul was better on the early stuff and they couldn't have done the sort of albums they did after killers had Bruce not been there.
@@alexjohnston8889 Honestly, although I like the earliest Maiden stuff, Paul was more a punk rocker than a metalhead. Bruce is a stone-cold metal god.
Rumour has it that he cracked the ceiling of the Louvre once by sneezing
This is possibly the best version of this song, Bruce and the rest of the band are still amazing.
Thanks for your video on this.
This song is masterpiece.
what a great review. I have been a Maiden fan for years and to see someone who doesn't necessarily listen to this music get such appreciation and enjoyment from it as well as point out the nuances of the vocal talent was so enjoyable
Thank you
Iron Maiden has always put on an amazing live concert. Bruce has an insane voice and definitely enjoyed your reaction video.
Great reaction to Iron Maiden - Hallowed Be Thy Name (live) . Showing your Metal side Tara very cool. 🤘Fear Of The Dark (Live ) From RIO is Amazing check out that one .
I second this comment. Especially the suggestion to react to Fear of the dark fro Rock in Rio.
@@n3Cr0ManCeD I Third the suggestion for Fear of the Dark from Rock in Rio!
Can I 4th this request. Hallowed be thy Name is my fav Irons song but Fear of the Dark is the second.
That's four requests. Maybe if everyone upvotes this we can convince Ms. Simon to do a video for it. Thumbs (And horns!) up!
Yes please fear of the dark
Every time I hear this song...EVERY TIME...Chill Bumps.
I love that you appreciate every genre of music
I really enjoyed her reaction to this video, and I like how SHE INCLUDED THE BAND,,,,,,THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THAT. Sometimes it's not always about one member,,, sometimes it takes more than one.
YES TARA!!!!! One of the best British rock/metal bands of all time. Join the tribe. :D Also, I love your videos :)
British? One of the best World wide. Period!
@@ThunderPantz01 True, I was just highlighting the fact that they're British :)
You have to hear "
Devin Townsend performs 'Kingdom' for EMGtv".
Devin has amazing talent.
The fact that you understand every nuance of this is what makes your critique legit. Nice work
First time viewer, and your insights & comments are excellent, and I love how you react not only to the vocals, but also the instrumentation...subbed.
The best live band ever this planet has face. Up the irons🤘
The only band I ever liked better live was GWAR. If you don't know them, look them up and you'll see why. Otherwise it's Iron Maiden for sure.
That running low gives me chills every time despite listen to it for years
Saw them in Feb 2024 Greensboro NC.. STILL sounds THAT good
The thing we should remember is Bruce did this night after night for 192 2hr concerts on one nonstop world tour, he could sustain that singing somewhat endlessly!
Patrick Ellis ....and he pilots their frickin plane.
Bosco Wooley what! Really? I didn’t know that 😮 all round superstar lol
@@patrickellis3205 Yup... Since 2008. Ed force one's pilot.
Maiden still selling out concerts everywhere around the world! August 24,2019 Indianapolis Indiana I'm so there.
September 9th in Sac for me!
Nice!
Bruce Dickinson was excluded from the singing class in hes high school :D funny but fact!
love how she's blown away by Dave's solo. Its an incredible performance by him and his playing always blows me away. Such an underrated guitarist.
This is one of the best vocal reviews you explain everything so clearly keep up the great work!
Thank u! I appreciate that!
Another thing about Bruce Dickinson is that he never got drownded out by the guitar riffs he's still hear him over that and it was just amazing
Hah - i love Tara's expression during the solo. Really looking like she's trying to hold it all in lol.
Next time you should check out Bruce Dickinson Tears of the Dragon with Tribuzy. Probably one of the best his performance and the most beautifull his own song.
I think all the vocal coaches on YT should react to Bruce's acoustic rendition of Tears of the Dragon.

What a performance they put on in this, downright INCREDIBLE! Love maiden. Saw them in 2016 and they were perfect.
Maiden are all masters of their instruments. Bruce is an instrument. The human air raid siren strikes again.
Hi Tara, if you enjoyed Iron Maiden, you should definitely listen to Dio or Black Sabbath with Ronnie James Dio on vocals. Maybe the most skillful metal singers ever. RIP
Dunno man, I'd have her review some of Dio's Rainbow songs. Stargazer would be a great nomination.
@@RickReasonnz Ofc, my bad for excluding rainbow! 👍

Loved your commentary. You had a great grasp of the music, and what makes this such an iconic song. Still give me chills after 100s of listens.
as someone not interested in being a singer, this was a fun and interesting watch, just appreciating what makes my favorite singers great. thanks for the video!
Iron Maiden is amazing live! Even in their older ages, they can still deliver.
FINALLY seeing Maiden in Sacramento next month... after being a fan for 35 years!!

This is honestly my favorite song by Iron Maiden.... Bruce's voice is so gorgeous and this song never fails to pump me up. So good.
They are so good live cause they been doing it for 30 years plus lol they are one of my favorite bands I’ve ever seen live to date
