    Wawrinka is very inspirational player , just improved so much in late twenties , this guy really has everything , service , backhand ( best ever in history of tennis ) good forehand and volley

      When he's at his best, he can beat anybody. I mean anybody. But, he can also lose, a lot. His consistency is the only thing he's lacking.

    • @kiddolin9238

      his mobility is pretty weak compared to many others on the tour, and it is the main thing that is dragging his consistency down.

    6:22 - Woh! An on the run, down the line missile. Warwrinka cracks the ball with incredible amounts of speed, spin, accuracy, and power. One of the greatest backhands in the history of tennis.

    06:22. That is one of the most amazing one handed backhands(Wawrinka) I've seen in a long time. One of the reasons why I wanted to play one handed instead of two. Amazing.

    • @DeeeFoo
      @DeeeFoo 4 года назад

      It was a great shot, but what does it have to do with being a one-hander? A player with a two-handed backhand could pull off the same shot.

    • @nighttrain7404
      @nighttrain7404 4 года назад +3

      @@DeeeFoo its completely a style preference. Not saying you can't do it with two hands.

    • @DeeeFoo
      @DeeeFoo 4 года назад +2

      @@nighttrain7404 Oh gotcha. I thought you were talking about the shot itself, since you cited it as "one of the reasons" why you play 1hbh instead of 2hbh.
      I'm a 2hbh of over 10 years, and I tried learning a 1hbh recently (influenced by Wawrinka). It's tough.

      its surprising how you look at it from the highlights view and angle, and when you look at this video, you can clearly tell how spinny those balls are, I can't imagine if these pros are applying these spins to the ball...imagine what Nadal's forehands are like, one second the ball bounce its already out of your strike zone.

    While there are so many things that I like about Wawrinka's game, my favorite quality is his grit and will power to not give up in the era of the Big 3. He had some soul crushing losses (I cried with him), but used those to fuel his determination to come back stronger, physically and mentally. His 3 majors are an unbelievable feat at the time of the 3 best players ever to play the game...as a bonus, the sound coming out of their racquets on this video is quite something. Like a supersonic plane breaking the sound barrier!

      That's for sure the ground level shows you what's really going on. And how mostly smooth their groundstrokes are and the footwork and preparation. The commentators are paid to hype up the game for the general audience so the like the above action camera cause it makes everything look faster.and they can scream about good shots that suddenly become "unbelievable." The fellow is a natural athlete with much fluidity in his strokes. On the date I post this he's ranked 56 at the age of 38. Tennis has a huge mental component. If anything is off, there can be reticence in turning up the power. Part of Stan's remake has had to do with trusting his power. Feliciano has had Federer like finesse as a tool to rely on and perhaps too much so in compromising opportunities for unleashing backhand top.
