I love Stan's serve. Maybe not as pretty as some player's serve, but it is simple and consistent and he lets the racquet do the work. Good placement and control, he doesn't try "too hard."
impressed with stan’s overall accuracy during the rally. looked more stable than anyone in these practice videos. i agree with a comment stating his return too weak. his forehand actually looked less effective than backhand.
He is a smooth player, but it depends on who one is hitting with. I watched one of these vid's with him and Federer, and they were pushing each other around quite a bit.
@@abradfordajb Think it was 2013 U.S open practice - yeah they were really going full tilt and its really a thing to behold.i sometimes play it a few hours before i go on court - We all have to have our ideals.
It seems like all arm but it's actually his torso that is thrust forward letting his shoulder and arm go. Simple and effective. If he used only arm, it won't be reliable and most definitely won't last a full match day in & day out.
You can learn much more from the pro's when watching with these angles, I wish all matches were filmed a bit lower so you really see what it takes to make all the shots and what kind of speed the ball has.
He's good, but athletic is not the right word to use with tennis, it's a game played by well conditioned aerobically skilled individuals, but 'athlete' is a miss-used and overused word... Also practice hitting and playing are two different worlds..
Mr. Munar certainly puts his body to work during that serve and gets maximum extension. Lots of energy deployed and one wonders how he might hold it together during the latter stages of a match.
I was there. But not in the video. I was in the lower left corner court-side in the shaded area. Parking was a shit-show that day with the Citi-field parking lot closed.
4:42 what was the issue, the ball is rubber and weighs 2 ounces, it's not baseball Stan, a tennis ball hits a spectator and the reaction should be to giggle....
lol computer cant handle quality
If it's made in Switzerland, it's probably one handed 😂
Gotta keep the other arm free for the watches.
absolutely amazing how consistent stan is with his backhand

I could watch Stan hit that topspin backhand all day long...
I notice stan''s serve is pretty compact and basically all arm, but his huge racquet head speed and perfect snap to the ball are what makes it so good
he just has a very compact but powerful coil and since he is a big guy and his heavy is heavy also, it generates a huge ball.

Notice Wawrinka's backhand massive topspin at 15:44. Insane.
Almost as if he redirected the kick off that serve.
Such a masterpiece to watch :)
Wawrinka's backhand return the only thing that has hurt him so much.
I totally agree, for the talent he has his return has been an Achilles Heel!
stan has such a simple motion and he serves fuckin GAS
The only guy who can defeat Djokovic while on fire 🔥🔥
11:53 amazing backhand passing shot
May I ask what camera do you use to record your videos? Excellent quality videos I must say, thank you for sharing
When I would have the choice to play one hour with one of any top players I like, I would pick Stan.

Almost weird how here he doesn't look like quite the same player that knocked out djokovic in the same tournament
stan wawrinka i could never understand how he is such high ranking player and also won a slam… i know hes probly ripped but he kinda looks slow
Horrible day for Stan
Sneaky 13:35 lol
Jaume Munar
Stan was inconsistent that day

Jayne grunts just like Nadal...
Certainly not Stan's best hit!
The kids serve and return of serve are weak
