    The fender skirts are a big touch most places skimp out on. They tell themselves they'll clean, but reality is it just creates a nightmare in the long run. Well worth the effort to do it right!

    Great build for an overland camper! One thing that would help the viewers visualize what additions/mods that have been made to the rig is to actually show the mods instead of a shot of the commentor.

    that's one squared away truck build. are you guys gonna sell the fender liners or are they something you need the truck to fit? Personally id rather have a $500 ground tent over any bed camper or even RTT, and yes ive had both. But im a 26 year old caveman who can sleep comfortably on a rock pillow. if I want the comforts of home, id stay home. if I want to explore offroad I want to be as light and nimble as possible. plus a ground tent reserves your spot when stupid Subaru hikers try to steal it while your out wheeling. and you can offload all your camping gear to keep the truck even lighter. but that's just one way to do it. i need to contact yall about the currie rear. email incoming.

      @dred5375 5 лет назад

      Why?

    • @dred5375
      @dred5375 5 лет назад

      As a rear axle the ford 9" is a way better option, add the fabricated housing and 3.5" tubes and its way stronger than a 60 because of the pinion support! Either axle i think is overkill but the f9 is also a lighter assembly!

    • @admantiom1848
      @admantiom1848 5 лет назад +1

      Daniel Brumbelow
      After my brother “broke” the R&P “twice” on his Tacoma/Currie F9 he went to D60 and so did I and he sold the F9 $.50 on the dollar.
      Here are some differences between F9 and Dana 60.
      Since all these Off Road Axles are made to order, I will compare it to my D60 since it cost much less than F9 and got way more for the $$$$
      There are no cover on the F9 in which if you want to inspect the gears you need to pull the entire 3rd member out for inspection and limits your options for lockers.
      The DOM tubs on my D60 is 3x5” and 7/16” thick. F9 Tacoma is only 3” DOM tube and 3/16” thick and can’t go any larger or thicker, since the housing ends are machined to accept 3” tubes only.
      The reinforced center sanction on the Spicer 60 is 1-3/4 thick at the bottom which can be dragged over rocks and boulders.
      35 spline chromoly axle shafts and so is the F9 and will come with the same.
      My D60 was built by ECGS and I paid $4400 shipped to my doorstep from North Carolina to here in California.
      Currie F9 is over $5K
      Also my D60 is rated up to 40” tiers while Currie F9 is at 38” tiers.
      ECGS warranty is 5 years, you you break it we fix it.
      The Currie warranty is 2 years.
      I opted for OX locking differential and didn’t want to deal with the infamies ARB “O” rings anymore.
      The only “O” ring is built into the diff cover which houses the piston that operates the fork for the locking mechanism, and can take up to a 1000 PSI before it fails.
      It has been a year and a half since I installed it on my truck and ever since I am hitting, dragging it on rocks and boulders and it has held up pretty good.

    I love your work but I still don't get the Tacoma thing. Why not start with an F-150 FX4 regular cab short (122.4") wheel base. It's probably narrower then this truck and has a better break over angle. They can fit 35x11.5 tires with only a 2" level. It has almost 400 hp stock, and weighs about the same but it can carry up to 1850 pounds and can tow up to 9700 pounds. Way more capability and probably half the price. You should start with one of those...

    • @venturesquatch
      @venturesquatch 5 лет назад +4

      Jay Mackay you could start with a Ford, but then you might find yourself dead on the side of the road, not even off the road. That’s why Toyota is the basis of these builds. These trucks are running 12 inches of travel, and you know they are going to get you back home. Every time. That’s why I choose a Toyota! Over ford every time! My 4runner is at 204,000 miles, I am sure it’s good for at least another 200,000 no problem.

    • @jaymackay4303
      @jaymackay4303 5 лет назад +2

      @@venturesquatchit sounds like you ate the beans... An inteligent businessman would figure out that there are way more F-150 customers every year then Tacoma, 4Runner, and Tundra customers combined! Everyone is starving trying to get 1% of the Taco market when they could be a real player in a real market, with a real truck. I'm sorry but my 400 hp, $30,000 US nearly stock, tripple locked 2018 F-150 would run circles around your "beautiful" $120,000 wheezy taco, and we'll see which motor is running at the end of 400,000 miles.
      That said, it looks like you do good work. Let me know if you smarten up and decide to make money.

    • @venturesquatch
      @venturesquatch 5 лет назад

      Jay Mackay experience speaks for its self, as well as performance. Every vehicle has its pros and its cons. I’ve never been left stranded in aToyota, and can be confident I won’t be. It’s a reliable platform. I’m sure your $40,000 Ford is nice, but My 2003 4runner is paid off and absolutely capable . I’d love to go out with u some time and see who’s truly limited with their platform.I live in Albuquerque New Mexico, and I’m always free on the weekends. Holler at me if you are ever around and you want to go kick up some dust.Everyone is in a different point financially, and we all have different goals. We all build to our needs, different strokes for different folks!!!!
      I love my Toyota, and would choose one over a Ford any day, I am confident in what we do because I live it. I’m confident I can take my 4runner across the world, after it took me to high school 16 years ago. appreciate your opinion , and hope you get to experience the romance of owning a Toyota!
