Very impressive. The shower and water situation would be what I would add. Great build, Jon.
Love this build... I kinda have Taco envy after watching this (coming from a Jeep guy). ;)
I remember you meeting up with Jon on your Moab videos and thought his rig looked sweet then. Have been following Jon since on Instagram and love the walk around. Great truck!
Props to this guy. Yeah it takes a lot of money but you can tell he also put his heart and soul in it.
One of the most informative walk arounds I have ever seen. Loved it!
Impressive setup. Attention to detail and a lot of thought put into the setup.
glad to see this FlipPac still works...and even has a spare bar.
I love the truck. Really awesome set up and definitely love the 10th mountain patch
Great build. I want to do something like this on a 2017 Dodge Power Wagon platform. Thanks for posting - Cheers
Nice walk around, almost as cool as my Subaru. I kid I kid. Props for Switch Pro its hands down the best on the market.
Sick Rig Bro. Truely love your setup. Very functional system....
I'm currently working on my system with my old 05' colorado.
Quality, quality, quality. I like it.
Great rig Fully loaded with great gear
THANKS FOR THE Walkaround!
This truck is amazing! I'd LOVE to start doing this to my Taco!!
this is one of the best !!! big inspiration for me... Many good solutions, rational, lighweight, just great... many thanks for adding this vid.
Wow, this truck is insanely awesome!
Really nice rig. SO organized! Wow.
coolest and most well thought out set up. even the dude seemed like an awesome guy. niceeee
That is a beautiful set up. You are my hero.
Wow its all labeled and well organized 👍👍👍
awesome set up. one of the best ive ever seen. well done
That is one of the coolest rigs I have ever seen! Thanks for sharing!!
That is one sorted, well organised truck....love it!!
Super slick execution.
The best setup i ever seen.
How the Hell did people dislike this!? This is a beautiful rig!
That is one incredible rig , props
This rig is so amazing!
Awesome Rig...Looks like great adventure
The best rig ever.
Nice build! I got some good ideas from you that I'll have to figure out how to apply to my Ram. I'm just starting out with what I think is a solid platform. I'm sure it will evolve as I drive deeper down the rabbit hole.
Saw your 10th mountain patch. Hooah! I was deployed with 548 CSB back on '03
HMBxplore always a deeper dive when building a full livable unit
What a beautiful setup. I wonder how much additional weight in the truck with this set up and how it affects the mobility of the truck with normal daily driving.
This is one of, if not THE nicest setups I've ever seen. I can't even begin to guess how much that rig cost.
Agreed! I guess around 65k!
joshua12345676 keep guessing
Yeah, I know what we've got in our builds, this one is well over 65K. It's all the little things that get you. I wouldn't be surprised if this is topping six figures when all said and done.
True.. Even the smallest simplest items are quite high!
First State Overland yeah you got that right... also some things have been installed and removed throughout the build and replaced with a better products... It does add up quick. Things were kind of a progression. you can see what the bed setup looked like throughout the stages of the build out. still have some items to address like plumbing on board water and heat
This is so cool! I wish I had one!!!
When you carpeted your Windsor, how did you adhere it to the window so it doesn’t fall out when adding/removing patches? I did the overused reflectix covered in carpet and cut to squeeze into the frame of the window. It works okay but falls out of place a lot.
Well thought out sweet
best rig by far!
tom jones thank you much appreciated
All I can say is...
WOW!
Super nice rigg. I'd like to see the tent fold und unfold handling, can you make another video with it? Thanks, happy adventures... JT
Cool set up! Nice Rig Walk Around. I've heard videography at night is a challenge, looks good to me.
wher do you bay all the labels for the draw, all the labels on the velcro ??
What a rig !
Beautiful setup
At 13:19 in your aluminum box it looks like you have a top for a military water can that you made so you can pressurize. Is that what it's for and do you have any details on how you did it and what parts you used?
Connor Curran yeah that's the cap for my water tank so I can pressurize water. there's a write up online somewhere
Would be nice to get an over all view of pricing of these units just to get an insight cost of what it takes to piece together. Love ideas!!
Nice set up!
Very well done.
All it takes is money! :D
Nathan C hahahahaha
RichieFromBoston I meant all it takes is money to buy the parts and start a build
Truck vault for pots and pans!!
And live with your parents
Wow very cool that's goals
Cracking setup
How did you carpet windows in cap so it looks good from outside view. No glue showing through glass etc. Byron all terrain camper on Tacoma
Awesome Rig Jon!
Cory Bechtold thanks boss
Hey man ! The rig is freagging awesome. What size of Truck Vault is that ? Standard 6" or the Utility 8" version. Cheers!!
how much of an mpg hit did u take going full steel?
Badass rig! Thanks
I think I have seen this rig at the fab shop next to my work its very nice
Any one know where to get that tent/ camper shell? Or did he just make it
This guy definitely took the money cannon approach 🤑🤑🤑
Saw this rig at the SoCal rendezvous in Ocotillo such a well built truck!
OVRLNDX thank you!!!
What type of headlights are they ?
how did you get a custom flip pac? i thought they went out of business
Where can I get some info on the switch pro?
amazing rig
What are the connectors holding your Maxx Traxx?
Great setup, two questions where did he get that canopy/rooftop tent, and how does he get into the fridge?
Great truck/never enough gear for a weekend.
You did mention you’re not concerned with the add on weight. Are you running the TRD supercharger?
love this.
Sweetness......the only thing I would add is the foxwing canopy.....has awnings but the wing wraps all the way around the side and back and has add on side walls if needed but covers that back... awesome... cooking station....First class rig...my complements
yeah been toying with a rear awning. I wish the fox wing and shadow awning would have an aluminum cover like the fiamma.
That's one bad ass set up I must say! Thanks for sharing
That's great! I love a Tacoma, but this machine is something else. I wonder how top heavy it is?
Does that canopy keep dust off pretty well?
Niceeeee! Liked the 4.0 V-6 soooo much better than the 3rd gen 3.5. Overall great build!
The fridge is very high, how do you manage to see and get what's in it?
Man I wish there was 1/4 the market of goodies for my truck that Taco's, Jeeps, and other trucks have. I may get lucky every once in awhile and find some "universal" stuff. On the bright side, I get the chance to MAKE stuff work! Kinda the same reason I love kayak bass fishing.
Did they say what that fold out tent/bed camper was? If so I couldn't find it. If anyone could tell me I would appreciate it
Where you have the start battery in my 2006 taco there is what I think is an anti lock brake control block . Did you have to relocate it or wasn't there one in your truck? Nice build. Also do you find the engel is large enough? I am debating on one or an ARB . Any advice? Thanks
What are those sandwiched brackets on the sides of the camper? The maxtrax are mounted on them. Sounded like he said L brackets
Hoping to do something similar with a newer Chevy Colorado soon.
Nice!!
the lighting setup is amazing... what does he use to run it off his phone? i didnt catch it
It's switchpros. Pricey, but nice
niiice truck awesome setup
Such an awesome rig!
OVRLNDX cheers!!!
Very nice truck
This was badass
Definitely one of the better Taco builds out there, so well thought out. Does that fridge have a drop bracket, seems like it would be really hard to access being that high?
I believe it does. Its a Tembo Tusk Slide if I remember correctly.
Wanderlust I just stand on the goose gear step plate that's on the alubox. works fine. never had an issue getting into fridge
Hey Jon,
When I had my flip pac I didn't really like the bed either. Who did your foam mattress?
Cool truck i have ever seen ....wow! You also have a buddhist prayer flag in your tent for good luck & well being of all sentient beings.
Whats the name of those corrugated plastic bits?
Great vid
This is really freaking cool
This is amazing -- but please note that company that made Flippacs (FRP) went belly up last year -- left many customers (including me) high and dry. Took 50% deposit and cleared out of town. Luckily, I had it on my credit card so was able to get a chargeback. Too bad, as we really wanted one!
Very good to know! Thank you!
Daphne Cha Cha yup... but hopefully it gets picked up soon or at least take the design and offer it under a new name
Agree Jon Burtt -- someone ought to pick up the design as there is a place in camping/overlanding for it!
josh I paid 5600 in Sept 2015
Same here, Jon Burtt -- if we had received ours, it would have been $5,600.
What is your rear suspension setup? That's a lot of weight, airbags?
awesome truck! what paper towel holder is that? been looking for one like that.
Impressive
Total weight . And impact to handling on trail grades?
the best!
His kitchen set up is a far cry from my MSR backpacking stove and Mountain House dehydrated food packs.
whats the name of the pop up tent shell for the taco? I didn't hear the name can anyone tell me?
FlipPac
Just a heads up for Jon, the PCH is closed along Big Sur and it might be a while before it's opened again. Awesome rig, hope you enjoy SoCal
Andrew Ahn this was filmed in late December
How much did you spend apart from the truck?
Mr crêpe, had a blast at Expo brotha!
