Sooo cool! I've daydreamed about living in a van and traveling around. But getting a souped up 4x4 could be so much more adventurous in the places you could go.
Adventures Of DP it was messin me up man, lol. I had to rewind and re-track, hahahahaha. I thought it might be a tat. Naww, just some outdoors, and some flies, ok cool.
I got to see a glimpse of your guys rigs at Happy Trails 4x4 right before you guys took off! just missed you when I pulled up, glad I got to see this! Awesome rig!
Great Rig and awesome couple Brandon and miss D.... What a great walk around and rig. Brandon your build is awesome because it's not off the shelf! It's what you did with your hands that make it great. Don't worry it will evolve as time go's on!!! Look forward to a meetup again in the future. Be Cool.. Great Video Michael and Corrie, WOW
Its cool he built everything himself and has the knowledge and time to do so but having an off-the-shelf solution isn't a bad thing. I tend to leave it to the real professionals when it comes to major modifications/features and there is nothing wrong with that. Im a software engineer and I wouldn't expect a normal joe to write DIY beginner code for major software/web development applications that were getting released for the general public. I pick my battles when custom building stuff for my rig but leave the big stuff to the pros. But hey, I am just a guy with another opinion..haha amazing build nonetheless
Mason! Great to have met you. Thank you so much my friend, I'm new to this whole overlanding thing, it'll definitely evolve over time. Next time I'm in your area, I'll be sure to let you know so we can meet up.
Absolutely "off-the-shelf solution" is not bad. But! Building an expedition rig for two specific people to share and live out of for three months has nuances that can possibly be easier to include when DIY, and "Broke but rich overland" don't have endless funds for a custom fabrication shop building a rig. The off the shelf solutions for sleeping in a Rubicon? I also have built a custom storage and sleeping platform in my 2010 FJ because there just is not anyone out there making one. I also have to agree with Brandon's type and style of build because if anything brakes he knows how to fix it. I wish I had the funds to send the FJ to Sportsmobile with a blank check and say build the best living area you can in it!!!! maybe someday.
Michael: "It has gone where all the Defenders have gone" Excuse me? As much as I love Defenders, who defined them as more capable off-road as a stock Jeep? Brandon, since when do have AT's thicker sidewalls than MT's? That would be new to me. All in all, thanks to Michael and Corrie for this video and all the best and lots of fun for Brandon on his way up north.
Hey, Mauiman52! I actually meant "where the Defender we were WITH went". With exceptionally low gearing, that thing was a billy goat, though I'm not interested in a pissing contest about which vehicle is better. I don't engage in those conversations. You can probably imagine why. Ya, sidewalls.
Hi Michael, thanks for the clarification. I knew you did not want to get in between the lines starting such a discussion. And I love your 70 Series LC too. I am always just curious to see how each owner worked around the pros and cons of their vehicle depending on what is important to them. Thanks again.
I must be wrong but I remember reading somewhere that bfg's all terrains had a 10ply rating and in turn have a tougher sidewall than their mud terrains
You can probably chalk up the 110 comment to my husband's on going love affair with the Defenders. I knew what he meant, but I have insider context. :) And the AT's have a 20% thicker sidewall per the BFG site.
just wondering he mentioned next time he may go AT tyres because they have a thicker sidewall??? Not sure whether you have different tyres than we have in OZ but generally MT Tyres have a stronger sidewall then AT...
they're about the same after some research, AT are supposed to be better on a variety of terrains but i have no complaints about the MT and I'd buy them again
Seems like you could cut a little weight and provide a much better sleeping experience by getting something like an iKamper RTT and toss out the heavy mattress and additional 2 person tent you're lugging around. Outstanding setup though and a trip I'd love to make some time.
Shane Dibble yeah standard width. I went with the steel flares and I wish I went with aluminum. Don't go steel unless you really see yourself bashing into things.
saw a similar fitted Jeep in Chicago a few days ago... gotta say the look funny when they aren't all packed up haha. had is roof rack and all lights but nothing on it. but again it is Chicago
You really can't beat KO2s for longevity. They clog up a lot in wet mud, the KMs are of course better here, but otherwise the KO2 is a very tough tyre.
Why there are 96 thumbs down, I can't understand. Great rig and interview. Would have liked to see a bit more bed/ interior shots. Well done! Curious about overall price tag...
Can you tell how high is your jeep? I love that lift with the 35" and the gobi rack but worried it won't fit in my garage. Would really appreciate if you can send over specs, thank you in advance!
+alsmith Hahah. Didn't realize it was you. I love building things, I'm going to try to make a similar version as this in stainless. If it doesn't turn out so well I'll give you guys a call
Hey Michael I can't figure out how find regional ambassadors on the website. How do I do that? I'm a new member and I'm trying to meet other members in Colorado
Looking for a decent roof rack/basket for my 4WD Suburban...may resort to designing one and let my welder buddy do his thing. Not too many options available for large SUV's. Gobi doesn't support the Suburban, but they're ridiculously priced anyway, at least for me. I can see a Gobi easily costing more than $2k for a large SUV.
Sooo cool! I've daydreamed about living in a van and traveling around. But getting a souped up 4x4 could be so much more adventurous in the places you could go.
Great looking Jeep!
I am going to get the Genesis dual battery system for my 2015 jeep this spring and install it myself. This is a great video of an awesome Jeep.
Thanks!
Now THAT'S a nice rig. Not like some people who drive rigs with strobe lights and donk wheels to auto shows. Keep up the good work!
Awesome looking rig! Nice to actually see it dirty and not all clean and shiney like some kind of mall-crawler!
NotaRubicon Productions I have to agree with you lol. To many $$$$$$$$$ mall crawlers out there
That fly on his neck is pissing my ocd off
Paul Fischer hahah I was trying so hard to ignore it
We were impressed you just ignored it. lol
haha thanks, guys!
Adventures Of DP it was messin me up man, lol. I had to rewind and re-track, hahahahaha. I thought it might be a tat. Naww, just some outdoors, and some flies, ok cool.
no man he just speaks so fckin fast
I got to see a glimpse of your guys rigs at Happy Trails 4x4 right before you guys took off! just missed you when I pulled up, glad I got to see this! Awesome rig!
No way! Lol. We're going to stop and check in at Happy Trails again on the way back down to Miami.
Great looking rig to go with a trip of a lifetime. Almost the exact same setup I want, but I'm guessing everyone does too ; )
Great Rig and awesome couple Brandon and miss D.... What a great walk around and rig. Brandon your build is awesome because it's not off the shelf! +mason north you said it Mason. It's also pretty fun designing and putting it all together, there's a sense of pride in building it yourself.
On your way back threw NC you should stop by High Country 4x4 in Boone. It's a jeeper's peradice.
Michael: "It has gone where all the Defenders have gone" Excuse me? As much as I love Defenders, who defined them as more capable off-road as a stock Jeep? I had the same questions...

Those modifications are worth more than my house
Whoa! Awesome rig Brandon
Hey, thanks
Dude you crack me up!
+Overland Bound this came out great! Thank you!
what awning do you have?
+tom denis that's a foxwing awning
Sweet video, nice rig! Picking my wrangler up in 2 days, have to resort to youtube vids till then!
Congrats!
That rig is awesome. Want a Rubi so bad!
Great camping setup 👌 👍 THANKS for sharing
great vid...where were you guys?
Gallagher Head Lake in WA!
Nice rig!!
Thank you!!
Btw, great job on the video Overland Bound!
Thank you!
just thinking about it, a jeep jk long wheelbase with 2 doors. kinda like the 110 you did last time.
just wondering he mentioned next time he may go AT tyres because they have a thicker sidewall??? Not sure whether you have different tyres than we have in OZ but generally MT Tyres have a stronger sidewall then AT...

Very Cool trip, nice set up on your Jeep brother...
my new favorite channel.....
Awesome!
Another great video!
Great video Michael and Corrie!
Nice rig too Brandon.
Looking forward to more videos OB.
Thanks!
Im in the market for some flares and i like the look of yours. Are those poison spyder standard width flares?
Shane Dibble yeah standard width. I went with the steel flares and I wish I went with aluminum. Don't go steel unless you really see yourself bashing into things.
love these videos..
Awesome!
saw a similar fitted Jeep in Chicago a few days ago... gotta say the look funny when they aren't all packed up haha. had is roof rack and all lights but nothing on it. but again it is Chicago
That Jeep is so DIRTY, that's so AWESOME! I think SEMA Jeeps are so SUPERFICIAL...use it like a Jeep, wheel it like a beast and get it dirty!
Who makes the radiator's cover ? That would work great on some trips where the bugs make really a mess by the end of the trip
made my jeep, i got it at my local dealership
Brandon, do you have any video of your jeep off road? And did you add armor??
not too much video other than this. just the metal fenders and bumpers as armor
Very Nice Rig
simple and clean is usually requires more thought and planning
Do all terrains really have thicker sidewall? Never knew
I doooont think so?
Yeah mudders seem like theyd be thicker.
Yes, Ko2 have 3 ply sidewall vs. KM2 2 ply.
You really can't beat KO2s for longevity. They clog up a lot in wet mud, the KMs are of course better here, but otherwise the KO2 is a very tough tyre.
Gorgeous rig!
I'm a cj guy but I have to say, this is one of the better JKs I've seen. How much do you think your winch weighs?
Hoping he gets a chance to answer. The Warm M12000 is 130lbs
Overland Bound Thanks for the response. I'm hoping one of these doesn't weigh my cj front end down
thank you! the winch isn't too big, only 9.5k. Steel cable it weighs about 80lbs
Hey I appreciate the response, thanks alot
Would like a build video of how you built your storage deck
That's a nice build! Do you have a Yukon/Tahoe build? 👍
Nice video. Seems like a good dude.
Did you say this was at Gallagher Head Lake...in WA? I live about an hour and a half from there.
Are the backseats removed? I really dig the placement of the fridge, but it seems like the seats would have to be out in order to have it there.
He only said it like 4 times
Just suscribed a while ago, I really liked your channel! do you think you can make a video of that FJ cruiser? Looks pretty cool too!
We should!
Sup with wires linking the hood and the roof basket ?
Thanks for the insight Brandon! Any particularreason other then weight?
Shane Dibble if rust is an issue in your area that's another reason to go aluminum
Cool build. Curious -- what did you shoot this vid with (cam, sound)?
COuple GoPros and some fancy sound setup I'm not sire about :)
Cool -- thanks! Amazed at the level of quality those GoPros are capable of!
Did you put the fender flares in yourself? If so how difficult was it? What company did you end up going with?
Jeremey Mercier they're kind of a pain to install but they are SOLID. Poison spyder steel flares standard width.
This Jeep is Sick 👍💪💪💪
Great Utility vehicle.... Looking at the weight. What is the fuel economy like?
I get anywhere from 10 to 15 mpg
nice build.
Definitely a cool rig!
What slide length and brand are the drawer slides ? Or where did u get them Also if you don't mind what about brand for the locking latch?
38" 300lb rated Ovis slides and the slides for the stove are 24"
Why there are 96 thumbs down, I can't understand. Great rig and interview. Would have liked to see a bit more bed/ interior shots. Well done! Curious about overall price tag...
Galligher Head Lake in Washington?
Yes!
Awsome! I just camped up there with my wife and kids last week. Great trail. Any footage from the trip?
Yes! We will be doing a trip video soon!
+Overland Bound Can't wait! Hope you enjoyed our Cascades.
Can you tell how high is your jeep? I love that lift with the 35" and the gobi rack but worried it won't fit in my garage. Would really appreciate if you can send over specs, thank you in advance!
I'll let him answer!
Thank you, I will wait to hear from him.
I saw your message on Instagram but ill answer here as well. its just right around 7.5 ft with all the stuff on the roof rack
awesome set up
I might get into this overlanding thing looks cool I want to do it
I have the gobi rack how do you connect the limb riser to it and do you use the oem
Gobi accessory clamps for the attachments?
Yes on attachments. I drilled a hole on the top rail of the Gobi, and hooked a turnbuckle through it. Top side only.
Awesome Jeep and equip. 🤙🏽
Brandon, how did you secure your gear on the roof?
A weather proof zippered bag and ratchet strapped it down.
Wicked build
I know you said they were steel fenders...but by who??? where did you get them? and how much did they cost??? Sweet Rig!
poison spyder standard width crusher flares (steel)
How much did the rig cost with everything you put on it?
Jeep was 38k and somewhere around 20k in upgrades
I would love to take a trip like that don't even know if my Jeep could make it
where was this video film.
Pacific Northwest! Washington.
sick
Well done, congrats on your fun and exciting adventure. :)
At 8:00 minutes the dude said the drawer is awful :D
temartem1 I think he said awesome lol
love your rig you should put a jeep kitchen in it ... I know a guy that can hook you up with one :)
Are there pictures online?
yeah at jeepkitche(dot)com :)
+alsmith Hahah. Didn't realize it was you. I love building things, I'm going to try to make a similar version as this in stainless. If it doesn't turn out so well I'll give you guys a call
why put a kitchen? Wouldn't it be more immersive experience to make a fire in the woods when you need to cook
What tires are those??
KM2 not KO2
any idea exactly where you at in the interview video, location. wise
Any idea of what part number/manufacturer for those fenders?
Poison Spyder Crusher flares standard width
Love this jeep! Where abouts is this is WA? I live in Seattle and am curious
On the way up to Gallagher Head Lake!
Yep
what kind of wheels are those?
Fuel Vector
Yup, ok, yup.
Great walk around. We are looking to get a JK and setup something similar.
I wanna know what they take after they get off the TAT?
Sea to Sky highway to the Cassiar highway to the Alcan highway to Dalton highway all the way up to Deadhorse. did some offroading near Palmer, AK.
Did u experience the famous death wobble yet?
Thankfully no, haven't had death wobble yet
What fender flares are these ?
poison spyder steel standard width crusher flares
Great Vid, Thanks sharing.....
Hey Michael I can't figure out how find regional ambassadors on the website. How do I do that? I'm a new member and I'm trying to meet other members in Colorado
great rig i need the drawers!
How did you get the TAT on Google maps?
I bought them and put them into google earth and exported them and uploaded them to "my places" on google maps
How does this drive ?
great! you can feel all the added weight though
Looking for a decent roof rack/basket for my 4WD Suburban...may resort to designing one and let my welder buddy do his thing. Not too many options available for large SUV's. Gobi doesn't support the Suburban, but they're ridiculously priced anyway, at least for me. I can see a Gobi easily costing more than $2k for a large SUV.
or you can get an australian X1 camper trailer
freaking awesomeeee
yep
those look like maximum guess 5 gal. so 4 of those equal 20. thats ok but ive got a 54 gal tank on top of mine
ive seperated it into two tanks though. fuel holds 40. water holds14
Awesome !
so you have a death wobble on your Jeep?
nope. I've upgraded most of the steering components.
Still not electric? ;)
Bet he learned the proper way to say Oregon real quick once he got here lol! We can't stand when people say it wrong and he definitely said it wrong.
Right.... Never heard anybody say "I need an or-gone transplant".
Feel the same about how non natives say Colo-raw-do.
Rig envy. My cruiser is so underpowered.
Was that a smittybilt fly on his fuckin neck too? That thing was healthy!
It makes a comeback at 4:12
no snorkle tho
All the breathers are raised though
simply awseme👌👍
did anyone saw her at 4:34
You mean him.
