  • Meet Kate the Jeep and all mission 2016 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon JKU that has been built for overlanding and for hitting some of the toughest trails like the famous Rubicon. This Jeep was recently on display at SEMA 2018 and has an amazing story as to why it sits in it's current form. In this video I meet with the owner and we talk about the story behind the build and take a close up look of all the interesting modifications he has done to it. #jeepwrangler #overland #jeep

Men, I really love the anecdotal story at the beginning of the video. It gave me some perspective on the motivation behind this awesome built. And I can relate. Being a man having a family and not being prepared. 2 thumbs up... If I could.

I like how his goal is to "be able to get out there and help others". When I had my TJ Wrangler, I put tow straps in and hooks, and when big winter storms came in, I went out and pulled people out of the snow. I never took any money. It was the most fun I've had in my Jeep. Like normal people get stuck, not only do I not get stuck, but I can pull you out of the ditch too! :D

Haha I totally get that. I live in a hilly area that rarely gets snow, but when it does, a ton of people get stuck just due to lack of experience in snow. It’s always a great feeling to just cruise around and offer help to anyone who may need it.

Love this setup! Especially that wrap. I'd call the color closer to Ranger (foliage) Green. Most of my Maxpedition gear is RG. And the topo pattern is just icing. Superb color/pattern combo. Terrific build so far. Thanks for bringing this one to us. I'm at that "just going to add some hood latches and 35's" stage; Drake's & STT Pros on Black Rhino Armory wheels. Wonder how long I can hold out... Tube doors don't count btw, they're a necessity! At least I've convinced myself of that, anyway.

I get tired of saying "great video, Brad!" So I won't! OUTSTANDING VIDEO, BRAD! Due to time limits, Ali, could not tell the entire story of being stranded, so I went to the website listed above and was amazed at just how serious and difficult the experience was. Glad he was able to resolve this situation. Was also impressed by the lack of compassion of many of the people who failed to help him or his family members. Happy to see that some Good Samaritans did prevail at the end. As he said, this experience is a teaching moment for all to be prepared for the worst. On the positive side, he got into the off-road world big time. Too bad SEMA does not have a "public day" since I might have had the chance to see KATE in person.

Hi TrailRecon, this is my first comment in any channel and I got to say I'm very impress in what you done to help people get prepare for they're trips. Though I don't drive a jeep, I know your videos will help me in what trips I take. Keep up the Great work.

It would be nice if the Wranglers came with an option to have the 5.7 or the 6.2 hemi. The smaller Jeep (Grand Cherokee) has both options available.

It would flip, they have the aerodynamics of a cabinet and terrible jeep wobble at high speeds no point.

@ IDK what Sams talking about, but the real reason apparently is the fact it has a removable top which isn't intended for rollover protection
