Would love to!! If you're in NWA you should check out the Midwest Overland Off Road Expo (MOORE) in Springfield, MO February 13-14. It's an awesome event and I'll be there teaching 3 classes.
I agree with everything you said. Jeep’s are the Glock pistols of the off road community. If a company is going to come out with a whiz-bang new accessory, they are going to come out first with one for a Glock/Jeep (and it’s going to be a lot cheaper than the whiz-bang accessory for the 4 Runner).
My first Jeep was a Sahara (same as sport basically). It had the factory Limited Slip in the rear and I put a lunchbox locker up front. It did awesome!! With that said, I would learn to drive your Jeep and get used to how the brake lock differential works. It does very well. If you watch my videos you’ll see I very rarely use my lockers. I explain why in the Ozark Overland Adventure Trail day 4 video.
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures thank you for your help and support I just got it last year if my wife and I were to get to AR how would we get in touch with you about taking us through the Ozarks
Well, put - It's all about the little pleasures. It's got to be "the best" to be roaming around with no top or doors. And to having over time tastefully dialed in the Jeep to your liking. Good on Ya. I've taken a shine to a jk - but I just bought a Tacoma!
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures I enjoy your no-nonsense style reviews. (backed up with some experience to boot) I've owned a self-built Transit van for 3 years and slept in it for 15 months. Now I need a more capable and nimble rig to go from Mexico south for a longer trip. I thought long and hard on the Jeep but the interior space was just not quite there for this length of the trip. (IMO) Recently saw an Alu-Cab Canopy Camper I figured it ticked enough boxes for me to go ahead with the package. So in a single week in November, I bought both!!! Now I'm happy and broke. (the accc gets installed in January) Let the build begin.
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures Yes - I drove 800 miles to check out a ACCC in the wild and was "blown away" by the quality of the unit. I will likely be in the Ozarks with it in the next 8 months.
I have been trying to figure out ways to go faster in my JLUR. I was thinking if I could get more up travel I would have more room to take hits. When you cut your factory wheel flares, did you reduce your bump stops/increase up travel and if so, did that help your rig with speed?
Great Video! We have a 2017 JKUR, and i have 35s but replaced the fenders rather than lifting. I've been considering a 2.5" lift for some extra ground clearance and also my wife likes the way lifted jeeps look. I'm planning on building a small Overland Trailer, and I'm curious to know whether or not you re-geared your jeep either when you went to 35s or when you began pulling a trailer with it. I still have the factory 4:10 gears, and I'm not sure if that would work well towing since the power only feels adequate at this point. Thanks
I have not regeared. The 4.10s are perfect for 35s. I do plan on regearing for the trailer but it’s not that bad unless I’m in Colorado going up some of the steep hills they have on the highways out there. When I do I’ll go to 4.88s. Thank you!!!
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures Thanks for the info, i was thinking 4:56 but will consider 4:88. We usually spend 2 weeks in Co every summer, but mostly in the Central Rockies and thats where I really notice the power lose. We did spend a few days in Ouray this year, and I'm definately planning to go back there next year. We have spent some time in Ar this year and have enjoyed it, would like to spend some more time in the Ozarks, but being from La we have found it's not easy to go north in Ar from Texarkana which makes it hard to do weekend trips.
Excellent walk-around, thanks for all the details. And great job explaining the FrankinLift have been shopping quality individual pieces to get my gladiator lifted.
The parts replacements you mentioned in the video, are those failed simply because of the nature of how you use the vehicle? Or would they have failed under normal use?
Are you referring to the normal maintenance items? Taking any vehicle through mud will wear bushings and seals faster than if you stayed on pavement. But that’s no fun!!! 😂
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures well you mentioned drive shaft replacement happened more than once, was curious if that was from a reliability issue or just hard on them expected

Nice video and i agree with you on the milestar patagonias. Ive heard a lot of people bad mouth them but i had them on my last jeep and loved them. Quiet and effective. I will buy them for my newer jeep when i need tires.
Glad those Patagonia worked for you. They sucker for me, on road they were awful and did not like the clay on the east coast. Trail grapplers have stuck since then
I was already planning on getting one. You sold me on Jeep. I have always loved Jeep. I'm not gonna lie tho, my silverado has been dependable to the most part. But I think I might give it to my wife just so I can get a Jeep. Lol.
I currently have a Jeep Renegade Trailhawk but have been wanting a JLUR. Unfortunately, even used they’re out of control expensive! My mind is moving towards a JK Rubicon just to save a lot of money. @@OzarkOverlandAdventures a guy I went to Imogene Pass in Colorado with this past summer (yes with me Renegade) has a ‘18 Jk Sport. They were looking to get them sold for the JL line.
