Yes! The 80/20 T-Slot aluminum extrusions and fittings are the DIY guy’s best friend! Marco and Brad were early examples. This takes it to the next level. Thanks for sharing!
I needed this for a three-week road trip seven years ago. This is also great for those trips where you pull into camp late in the day. Definitely a mom-friendly build.
The coffe table lift ups ...genius...space saving ...it is a tetras players dream ...awesome lights to ...draws and under ...amazing ...dont think i ve ever seen anything so well thought out and compact ...i want it .
This is incredible. With all my heart I wish I was that gifted to do something like this... great job guys. It’s funny to, just this morning I watched the video you did a year ago with Dave and his wood drawer.
I am posting this a couple times, but if anyone might be interested I’m looking into producing some kitchen drawers, I put up a simple website to see if there’s interest. www.PullKitchen.com
As much as I love my little butane burner when I go backpacking in the wilderness, this pull out kitchen is the ultimate for car camping. I love the little sink and how neatly it packs everything. Well done!
Caroline Carriere There’s nothing wrong with compact and light, and there’s nothing wrong with bringing it all along either :) The response at instagram.com/PullKitchen has been humbling!
HDPE is available in 3x5 sheets at Menards. It can be cut to size with a regular jigsaw, drilled with regular bits, and routed with regular router bits. It comes in several colors and many different thicknesses.
i actually built similar drawers and put telescopic poles at the end for some extra stability. my drawers aren't as tall though. It houses a sink, space for my coleman stove and a ice chest fridge on the right side. Left side drawer holds all my equipment, tools, dishes, etc. The right side drawer is fully contained so there's no hoses sticking out of the bottom. i have side drawer fronts that have magnets on them so they just pop off and on easy and i keep my freshwater, gray water and propane tank under each of the 3 side compartments. i used wood for mine and it's a bit crude compared to this build but it does the job :)
This is amazing. I know it's overkill, and purists will say you just need a sleeping bag and a kettle, but I agree - once you're building something yourself, why stop until you have exactly what you want? This is probably the best-equipped and nicest-looking kitchen drawer I have ever seen. Great job.
Brdaley E no it was not cheap, but I also couldn’t find what I wanted, which was kitchen storage, pantry storage, running water, burners, cutting board, lights, and easily removable in a couple minutes. My co-founder and I started making Pull Kitchen’s now and added self-contained water and power to the list of features. We are on instagram @pullkitchen and PullKitchen.com
I know it's counter-intuitive, but this would likely damage the sliders by torquing them upward. Imagine if someone heavy got in the rooftop tent while the pole was out? The car's suspension would compress, but the pole wouldn't, and the sliders would be bearing the load. Better to just deal with a little wiggle and stay safe.
I was thinking the same thing. I'd be a little paranoid about the bounce, and guaranteed I'd be leaning on the end of that thing having a beer with a buddy. But it's a great concept.
Wank wank wank, awe geez, when he pulled that out and opened it up! Beautiful mate. Look, if you think its over built, so be it. Sometimes things built dont have to be financially viable when it exercises you talents and works the brain. Very well done.
David, down here in Aus I use a Jayco wind up camper. Ive outfitted it to make things quicker to setup and put away. It encourages us to go away more. One of the mods I did was make a timber pull out kitchen utilising the side hatch. Its only a basic unit and it was built around a 50 yo stove. The stove isnt very practical for the application but I just had to use it. I would have had more drawer depth if I used a more compact stove.
I’ve seen both the drawers in person and in action and they are amazing! Dave is set up and enjoying an ice cream bar before I can even get my tent out of the tote I stuck it in! The his whole setup with RTT goes up ridiculously fast and is awesome to see in person. I’d love to get this kitchen together one day!
Tom Pula it was a looooooong project! Hahaha but I’ve been looking at possibly starting a company to produce plans and kits for those interested. www.PullKitchen.com
Just wanted to comment to point out there are "drop-in" 8020 t-nuts that you can place anywhere inside the channel of the profile. They're just as sturdy as the normal slide in t-nuts. I used these aluminum profiles to build my thesis project, and the drop in t-nuts were a life saver! Great project, the results scream quality.
This is amazing. I am taking out the seats of a mini van and installing 2 sets underneath a full length bed. I was going to use wood on both of them, however, I am loving this instead. Thanks for the ideas
Great googa mooga, mate! Talk about beautiful. Form AND function. Dave gives us new to dreaming of DIY projects in our rigs amazing inspiration and hope.
Cool, that is very neat. I am building a ute camper at the moment & I had something similar in mind. You have just expanded those ideas. Thanks for showing.
Robert Lee well we started PullKitchen dot com and refined every aspect of this unit, and still no leg. The mount on this blue drawer was causing the flex and now our new mount and support a 150lb person hanging on the end. NOT that I recommend it
Looks like California. The plates on the vehicles are California plates. But all of the off road sites that I loved in California are closed. BUT you can probably go to the old sites, if you're willing to pay the fines.
Shredders Death Valley is my favorite place. At this moment I’m near crescent city CA 40 feet from the Klamath River camping, it’s a big state with a lot of options. But closures do suck

Darren Mitchell I hear you. For me I like the idea of a complete system that isn’t permanently installed. I couldn’t find a unit so I built my own, and based on the crazy amount of interest I’ve partnered with an Apple engineer and we’ll be launching soon and at Overland Expo West. www PullKitchen com
Available is Australia ? or are you able to forward design plans ? Its so hard to find a true modular unit, you have hit ever key point of full use. pop up slide and stack great. If I cant find one Ill be having to make one myself. Great camping kitchen set up.
I've never seen any commercially produced pull out kitchen that looks better than this, whyyyy? This is great.

Team OROZŪK where can I get this
The minute he extended the first drawer to reveal the hidden sink and stove, I smashed that Like button quicker than a Guitar Hero pro. LOL
BigBoss now that made me laugh! Glad you like my drawer. I made a little website PullKitchen if interested
same!
COOL
Set~up is amazing.......I think I would still use adjustable support legs.....
Dave is a GENIUS! There's few overland DIY projects that I enjoy/respect.....but this design rocks.
Glad you like it! It’s changed camping for us!
Someone who can dream up something like this, then make it happen..... respect, nothing but respect. Awesome 👍👍👍👍
Darren Wilcox Thanks! Definitely born out of frustration, and HATING bins. Now we make them for sale
I needed this for a three-week road trip seven years ago. This is also great for those trips where you pull into camp late in the day. Definitely a mom-friendly build.
Hey Brenda! Yes it is great for long trips and has already been mother approved! Haha. Glad you like it!

I am amazed at how he set up his display. Great
Brilliant. There's at least three or four ideas here that are completely new to me.

I’ve been considering a teardrop trailer build, but the kitchen solutions I’ve seen fell short. This one hits the bulls eye. Thank you!!

Shout out to Dave
That is some crafty design and major inspiration

One of the best DIY camp kitchens, i have ever seen. Probably one of the most expensive also, I would imagine.

Yep. You can get one for the low low price of $4,000.
I would include a drop leg adjustable aluminium pole at the end to stop it bouncing but it’s perfect otherwise.
how does one design this and not automatically include a drop leg
like make LTD .)
There is no need. That is y he is using 500 pounds slides. Those 500 pound slides are not cheap
I know it's counter-intuitive, but this would likely damage the sliders by torquing them upward. Imagine if someone heavy got in the rooftop tent while the pole was out? Unbelievably AWESOME!!!!!! WOW!!!! I would love to build this. The Aluminum rail system is very smart way to build it. Gives you lots of choices.
Wow... We just slap everything in plastic crates in the back of pickup truck and sleep inside the fiberglass shell. Very impressive !
Phil C. There’s no wrong way to do what works
great job brother. been looking at outdoor kitchen ideas and this is legit.
Thanks! We started a business now and have shipped them all over the US. On Instagram @pullkitchen
One of the best DIY drawers/kitchen on a rig I've seen. I'd pay for one if it'll fit my 80 Series Landcruiser.
We had a customer put one in his LC, it’s on our Instagram. @pullkitchen

I wonder if you can put some foldable support legs under the end of that drawer; for stability of course.
The production model is stronger and doesn’t need it 👍🏼
I wish this fabulous invention could be commercially available.
USA4US Well it is! I started Pull Kitchen with another Overland Bound member and you can follow along on Instagram @pullkitchen

I do think that a foldable support leg to the drawer would give more confidence and stability.
