this is for personal reference, but u can use it too :)
    ribcage area (1:00)
ch the circumference of your waist
row 1: sk 2, hdc until end of row
rows 2-13: ch 2, turn, hdc until end
rows 1-13 should be the distance from under bust to bottom of the top
    back left panel (5:21)
    after marking underarm st
rows 13-26: ch 2, turn, hdc between underarm st and end
rows 13-26 should be the distance from under bust to underarms
now, your piece should look kind of like an L turned 90 degrees counterclockwise
    front puff (7:14)
turn piece 90 degrees clockwise, ch 8
row 1: sk 2, hdc until end
row 2: sl st 2, turn, hdc until end
row 3: ch 2, turn, dc until end
row 4: sl st 2, turn, dc until end
repeat rows 3 & 4 until 1 stitch before stitch marker
    back right panel (14:22)
sl st, turn back to horizontal
row 1: hdc until end of row
row 2: ch 2, turn, hdc until 1 stitch left, then hdc sl st (15:30)
row 3: sl st, turn, hdc until end
repeat rows 2 & 3 until you have 13 rows
    straps (18:30)
new string, ch until desired strap length
for reference, you're making 2 straps and each will be the length of not only the strap, but also plus half of the from puff length and plus the length of the back panel vertically (yea confusing so it'd probably be better to just follow the vid)

I'm a beginner with no prior knowledge of how to crochet properly or knowledge of any of the technical terms used and I was able to follow this successfully! It was a little difficult at first because I was expecting some talking, but with the demonstrations alone, I was able to get it (after unraveling and having to redo quite a bit due to my own errors hahaha). I also love that the creator is actively answering questions in the comments, cuz I was able to fix a lot of my mistakes using the advice given. I absolutely love how it came out!

I love this tutorial but im finding it very hard to follow along. you give no specific directions about anything and kind of leave it up in the air, like when you are starting the fron t bit it would be great to be told where the stitches go in instead of getting a vague hand montion. I've been stuck for 30 mins trying to figure it out. like is it supposed to be 13 stitches? one for each row? is it meant to be very space? less? more? I just need a little bit of guidance

    • @roe865
      @roe865 3 года назад

I do believe that these tutorials aren't for absolute beginners but what part exactly are you stuck on?
I dont know if it's too late and you've already scraped the project but to start you do 13 rows of the measurement of you waist. For example I chained 29 inches and then did 13 rows of half double crochet
