Great job! Your wife says you're not allowed to wear rings at work cuz she'd like keep your fingers so no jewelry. Happy Memorial Day. And you do top-notch work. And you know you probably are the number one person that the health department likes to see come in because every time you come in when you leave they can write one thing off the list

That tubing could be 5/16" tubing I've ran into that 5 16 tubing in a few units and ice machines. I keep a roll on hand. Had to special order the 5 16 copper tubing.
And/ or do exactly what you did to make the connections... if it works, it works... 👍

I have a few couplings and a small roll of 5/16 for the same reason. Stupid manufacturing. Odd size is probably cheaper for the factory

Thats 5/16 copper my guy . Use a pair of Needle nose pliers insert those into each holes of the copper go clockwise / counterclockwise with some elbow grease and I’ll guarantee you that 1/4” copper will slide in just like butter and you won’t need to bypassed the condensate loop 🔁🤷🏻‍♂️. Good video

Oh man i repaired a Korean unit same problem with the line sizes. There is always something.

I've often wondered if you can just buy those wicking pads for condensate pans when you bypass a condensate cookoff pan. I'd think Supco or Vapco has it for sale. It'd let the condenser fan motor more easily evaporate the water. Just an idle thought.

In a pinch you could put a sponge in the pan.

It is called a precooler to cool the discharged vapor to help with efficiency to help condense the vapor faster.

Got a fridge question. Many believe that a fridge will work and run forever with the same refrigerant. I recently got called for a fridge that wasn't getting cold and put in a piercing valve (I'm not an HVAC tech so I don't have the Oxyacetylene torch and tanks). when I hooked a gauge it got around - 24 or -25 for vacuum. Sprayed the evap and condenser for bubbles and didn't see anything. Recharged until the PSI got within spec and the compressor is humming happily. I know there was a lot more to do (vacuum pump, reverse scale etc.) but her food was already spoiling with temps in the fridge over 80. The fridge is colder now and the Evap now has the normal layer of frost however not getting down to 0 in the top freezer last temp I took was ~14 degrees F and dropping but not 0-3 as spec suggests. 22 year old Frigidaire R134a

On paper refrigerant is forever. However just like your scenario I have come to small systems especially 134 that aren’t cooling so I have to add ports. I don’t find a leak and recharge and never hear from it again cuz it’s cooling. There’s something to that for sure but we shouldn’t be out here selling its time to fresher up your Freon. That’s the slippery slope I think

Nice to see an Embraco compressor in there despite it being Chinese. But then GMCC makes good compressors as well.

Did you change the dryer? I didn't see it. I always change the dryer, especially when there is a threat of water intrusion.

Good eye. Nope cuz I didn’t have the proper fitting size. This was a health dept “get it temping” special I don’t like not having the condensate loop so there will be another surgery forthcoming.

Probably 5/16 . I just make the loops out of 3/8 and swage the 3/8 or the 5/16 (whatever needs to be done) and be done

I did the exact same thing. True, supera, atosa, do NOT recommend doing this. Obviously I ran into this problem with all of them. It works, but not under warranty. Unless you can fake the service report. We get things working, and let the office do the paperwork, lol.

Yep. Best thing i ever bought was a roll of 5/16. Im amazed how often I used it for small compressor discharge lines and such
