Today Sunday, freezer ok but no fridge, Sunday is not a good time to get a repair man, but who needs one when we can get your help! Well done, same problem solved because of your great well done info and video, wish you good luck for all your projects:)
We had the same problem with our Frigidaire side by side. No air coming out of the vent, Frig. setting kept going down to 1 or H, and was getting warmer inside, 60 degrees. So my wife was checking out the RUclips Videos, and saw the picture of the digital readout box on your Video, clicked on your excellent detailed Video, and we gave it a try. There was no air coming out of the vent, so we took the screws out, unplugged the 2 wiring harnesses, took the unit out, pried open the door with a screwdriver, plugged everything back in, put in the screws, and we've been watching the Frig for a couple days, and everything seem to be working fine. Thank You, Thank You, Thank you for the very detailed Video, you "Saved the Day" for us and we Truly Appreciate it. We are now Subscribed. Phillip & Joyce.
This is the second time your expertise was the thing I relied upon to fix a problem. The first time, it was my AC compressor motor. Thank you for posting your invaluable videos. And, the joke was great. Best wishes!

You are awesome presenter and helper! Best instructions ever- My husband just repaired our frigidaire with your instructions! Saved us from going out to buy a new one today! I can't thank you enough!
I wanted to thank you for your video. This exact thing happened to our Fridgidaire Gallery Side By Side fridge/freezer. We bought this one used on FB so we immediately thought "well, we got our monies worth...time to pay up for a brand new one" but then I watched your video and I felt for air on the inside of the fridge and there was NONE (our model didn't require engaging the door/light switch to check this). I came across another suggestion that said to defrost the entire fridge for 24 hrs and so we unplugged it, unloaded everything into ice chests and left it open for 24 hrs. The following afternoon we cleaned it up real good and plugged it in and it took about 30 min or so but it was working fine. We are on day 2 and it's still good! If it wasn't for this video, we would have immediately purchased another fridge. So again, thank you!
i rarely if ever go outside of "word of advice tv". you are swift, thorough, and most importantly for my preference, easy to understand. keep up the great work, good sir.
Our Fridgedaire was beeping after I changed the water filter so I thought it was related to that some how. We looked all over the internet and thought it could be door seals, sensors or faulty fans, but no it was exactly as you described it an build up of ice blocking the return. I simply aimed the hair dryer at it for five minutes and it's fixed. I also foung an accumutlation of dog hair under the fridge that probably restricted the airflow around the coils. Thank you so much!
Dude you are soooo spot on …..came to the ranch electric was out and finally elec company turned on then the fridgedair freezer worked but not the refrigerator side. Did exactly what you recommended and it returned back to normal….you da man!
That’s for the video. Just moved and had the exact same issue, used my phone to take video into vent, used the handle from a spoon to poke through vents and free stuck flapper/vent. Repair took 2 mins max, thanks !!!
Thank you so much! I've been looking around for a solution for 2 days and finally got to your video! Boy did you hit the nail right on the head! It took all 5 minutes and I'm done.
As others have mentioned, blocked or ice buildup in the return vent can also stop the air from flowing into the refrigerator. If you open the freezer door and then air starts flowing in again, your damper is ok and you should unblock the return vent then look into defrost and/or drain issues. The damper is the more common failure on these units, but definitely try opening the freezer before ordering the part. Awesome job on the video. Lots of great info, clear instructions, video quality 👍
My fridge threw the bad damper codes....replaced the damper....seems to open and close....but now is freezing over the freezer coils anytime we let the fridge run. Starting to think the damper errors weren't what is really wrong now😢
Thank you so much for this video. My Frigidaire refrigerator has that exact problem. I was about to call a repair person. Thanks to you I fixed it myself. Now I'll keep a check and see if the motor is working. Thank you again.

Brooo! I had a high temp light on for 2 months. Saw your video and if was for sure frozen shut. Thank you so much now we dont have to use the mini fridge for milk and eggs
I can’t say thank you enough! All the sudden my Frigidaire started beeping and showing the h1, quick google and hit video and your video was the first one I hit. Followed your instructions and presto there was a tiny piece of ice and water which was the ice that melted. The air started blowing as soon as plugged it back. The flapper I’m not really sure if it opened on its own but I made sure it was open before I put all the screws back. So at least it’s not beeping anymore and there is cold air blowing so hopefully this solved it. Will wait and see in the morning if it continues to work. 🤞🏻

Awesome! Good to hear that since I have been doing more appliance videos than HVAC videos lately 😅 Have a fabulous weekend Mr. T! God bless you and yours.
Hey thanks for making the video, my fridge ended up being the damper assembly and you have to do a reset on the fridge after you replace it or it will give you the same H1 code. So i reset it and it works great!
Apologies if this has been mentioned already in comments. Before checking if the fan is blowing you may need to hold the door/light switch in on the door jam to engage the pump and fan.
I really appreciate such a good and detailed explanation of the problem. Just a comment that my problem was failed damper motor but I was able to get it going wiile I waited for parts by sticking a fork in the dampler hole to hold the damper partly open. It worked fine for short term. You might have to adjust size of fork if it gets too cold or not cold enough but my first try worked good enough. I even seriously considered just leaving that and cancelling the $100 part.
Thank you Peter! Every refrigerator will have it's own little differences but yes, in most cases the fresh food section of the refrigerator gets its cooling from the freezer. That's why that little damper is important. If it's stuck closed = no cooling. If it's stuck open = too much cooling/freezing.
Those dampers do go bad but not very often. Usually they don't freeze up either. That motor is strong enough to pop a small piece of ice off the door. There is a return vent hole on side of wall . Pull 2nd drawer out at bottom and you'll see it . A way to test to see if the damper is open or closed, open the freezer door also and see if air is coming in refrigerator through damper. If so close the freezer door. Did it stop blowing in refrigerator ? If so , the return vent is frozen up. Do not use a hair dryer. Use a turkey baster and hot water to unclog.
Thank you Jim! Things have been a little busy for me so I reduced my video production to only one every other week. Hopefully I will get back to posting weekly soon. Have a fabulous weekend my friend!! 🙌🙌

Thank you for this excellent repair video! I'm curious about your refrigerator model, do you know the exact model?
Glad to hear you liked the video! I believe I showed it in the beginning of this video: ruclips.net/video/jukoV43DrDw/видео.html
@@WordofAdviceTV Sorry for my late reply! Thank you very much for sharing!
Hey Jay, I wanted to know your opinion on the Iwave device and should I get it or not? Thanks.
Hi Rohit, I have actually never installed one of those before so I can't give you a good answer. I could give you some vague answer but I think simply directing you to this reddit thread would be more helpful: www.reddit.com/r/HVAC/comments/m363ly/iwavercleaner_air_or_gimmick/
I love this guy!! Perfect!
Thank you so much! You rock!!!!
Can you take out of fridge to order exact motor, and leave undone for couple days before gets it back together? Please and thank you 🙏
Yes, you can leave it taken apart. That should not be a problem. Of course you will not be able to use the fridge in the meantime though.
@WordofAdviceTV Thank you. Can't really use now for much anyway 🤷♀️ Just don't want it to effect freezer.
