    I used this video as a guide to replace my damper, and it worked for several weeks. Now I have an issue where the refrigerator section is too cold; it's freezing the milk, tea and eggs. I noticed I have a 3/8" gap between the top of the inside fridge and the top of the assembly in the back section near the damper. Not the rear gap that you mentioned, but a gap at the top. Is that what you have? Should I remove the assembly and try tightening it again? Thanks.

We'd like to buy a new fridge but fixing this one will have to do for a few months. I have the same fridge with the same error. The damper will snap shut as soon as I plug it back in after forcing it open. So I disconnected it from the arm that opens and closes it, and didn’t tape the vent. Freezer works fine and is cold, but even with the damper vent open all night and the freezer on, the fridge only got down to like 50 degrees.

      Yeah there’s a termistor right next to the damper but Termistor is not part of the damper it’s a different part however termistor it’s not common to go bad in this model and if you have ice in the coil you need to check the defrost thermostat and heater also if you have ice in just in part of the coils for example from the half way down you probably have a Freon leak

    Who’s getting a healthy heaping of ice on the bottom of the freezer? Keeping a towel on the floor? This is why we got rid of the dang freezer drawer style on the bottom and went with side by side! Ahhhh! 😤

    • @shawnwaldrop3702
      @shawnwaldrop3702 Год назад +1

      Happening with a side by side, too. This fix should help that. When the flap on the damper is stuck in the closed position, look in the freezer (if a Frigidaire. Take out all the wire racks. There’s a 2 pc vented panel. Only the bottom panel needs to be removed. Only 4 - 1/4” screws to remove. When you remove the panel, you’ll see the block of ice. Left too long, and that’s what causes the damper to malfunction. Likely culprit is the supply tube filling the ice maker. It drips a little bit each time. Keep it clean, don’t overfill your freezer blocking the vent, or overfilling your ice bucket.
      Just remove the ice. Wipe down the metal catch tray, and replace panel. Finish this video’s install of the damper and you’re up and going again. The part was about $100 or so. Easy swap. Thanks to this channel.’
