- We were recently in Garden Grove Ca. outside the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses gathering images & video before their 9a.m. meeting, We got a few friendly waves from folks driving in. One guy in particular came to where we were standing , telling me to turn off my cameras & that he was going to call police because he claimed my camera was making people uncomfortable. I offered him the document I carry with me, explaining public photography rights in California. He actually accepted the information and read it. He then returned with another guy (who had invited us inside) and then claimed we were recording kids & that was illegal according to the document I handed him. We urged he to re- read it . He then informed us that he was still calling police, because of our presence with the cameras. Eventually , two officers from Garden Grove Police arrived on scene, virtually explaining the same thing the the concerned party. In the end, police respected my and these two gentlemen did the walk of shame.

I always answer my door in boxers or naked. They came to my door on my property, it is their problem.

My friend was on his driveway washing his car. The two guys walked up to him. Asked him if he knows about Jesus. He said yes. Hang in a second. He went and got them lawn chairs and a beer and told them here sit down and have a beer and we’ll talk about Jesus. They wouldn’t take a beer or sit and he followed them down the sidewalk saying hey I thought you wanted to talk about Jesus? 15:20 he said Thry spied walked out of his culdesac.
Quite ironic for folks who peddle their beliefs door to door on private property.

You know what makes me uncomfortable? People who don't understand that people have the right to walk about and be free to do what they feel like as long as nobody is getting physically hurt.
Every veteran from every service, serves for our country and our rights, and that is a lot of folks over all the years we have been the U.S.A, and it is about our rights and freedoms of "our America" that allows the J.W, (also others) to go forth and met and greet you and (me) and allows you and (me) the right/s to put up a sign "No Trespassing" to remove anyone from trespassing on our private property but you need the [No Trespassing sign up and visible in your yard, drive, on fence, etc,] to offer you that protection from trespassing on your property. Buy the signs, put them up all over your property and now you have the lawful protection for No Trespassing. If someone passes the signs then take a picture of them, i.e. smart phones, and call the police. Even if they leave you still have proof of their trespassing. 1- the sign, 2- the picture, 3- call the cops if you are going to follow through and prosecute them, otherwise forget #3.
Witness are very careful about not going on property posted no trespassing. It is forbidden. We really try exercise our first amendment rights in a respectful and neighborly way. Your service wasn’t wasted on us, sir.
Finally, an aud says what I've been saying to tell the whiny babies *"Why is your 1st AM more important than mine?"* TY for doing that. I can see you improving with each audit you do. Stay safe out there lady 😊 👊🏽 🤙🏾 👍🏽

Literally 😆. We knew a jehovas witness family growing up in my town and the Kingdom Hall was half a mile from my house though it’s just s church now. We always felt bad for those kids. Not having bdays or Christmas was disturbing to us at the time 😆

When auditing religious organizations you should use the fact that they don't pay property taxes or taxes on the money they collect. They use the publicly funded police as their personal security force.

These guys are wealthy and there is no way to prove the amount that the church takes in since people get suckered into giving cash. The whole operation is a scam. I used to get my doorbell rang every Saturday morning for their Prosyltizing,and few years out of College with a Bachelor's degree in religious education,shot every rambling falsehood down. They kept at it until on Saturday morning,I put about 20 beer cans on my front porch and yard,and when they rang the bell,I answered in my briefs and screamed"get the fuck out of here"! I had Saturday mornings to myself after that.
Funny that they have no problem with their cameras recording everything outside the building but a person holding a camera is a big problem.

As one of jw's myself, I'm glad you did this audit and educated them.
A lesson I've learned through education and being old; A true religion concerns itself with some form of spirituality of its members only. A cult (a political power movement disguised as a religion) shows hostility to those who aren't part of the cult even if that party isn't attacking the cult.

To be fair, there really was only 1 individual who was the problem. Everyone else was polite, cordial, and friendly. This is how these brainwashing businesses work, what other reason did they have to approach a completely innocent person taking photo/video on a public sidewalk, absolutely no reason at all & they even pushed the point further to waste the time of the police & tax payers money after being shown legal documentation on the matter.

I was cautiously respectful of the PD in this instance. Those officers seemed to have an understanding of their role and didn’t overstep.

How would you like them to handle it if only one witness to crime/sin? Wouldn't that be he said/she said situation? What if you were falsely accused? Should the church ban you for one unsubstantiated claim? I'm positive that position is in the Bible about 2 or more witnesses needed for proof. However, that's for church policy, not secular law. That covers other sins and situations too, not just child abuse.

While I don't advocate ANY of that stuff, it is ones own life and I only have to stand for what I did before God on MY day of judgement. So, I shouldn't judge another.
I can tell someone that I FEEL a choice they have made, or want to make may not be a wise one without having hate in my heart toward them. Why? Because I love them as the Lord loves me. 🙂

That is one of the scariest beliefs along with Scientology and latter day saints on this earth. Uncomfortable is when you quietly read your newspaper, and there is a knock knock at your door and those dark figures of Jehovah's Witnesses are there, that is Uncomfortable, and undesirable.

You should always make it a point to tell the "uncomfortable" party that they are recording you(security cameras), and that's their 1st amendment right, as it is yours to do the same.
Hard for them to argue with something they are also doing :).

Dave, you are so correct. The biggest problem is that their ignorance creates such a level of arrogance, that no matter what you tell them, they can't hear you over the volume of their arrogance. So ultimately, they call law enforcement just to be told exactly what has already been explained to them. Ignorance can be remedied, arrogance is a different beast.

In the US, the INDIVIDUAL is privileged over society and the result, is conflict, aggression, everyday problems and stress. People in the US have many Rights, but few obligations. In China, GROUP Rights are privileged without paying much attention to Personal Rights. In the US, IF an individual has a "Right" he goes over the Group, and they call to that FREEDOM! And it is in this Freedom and Rights that the Civil Courts have to deal with thousands of lawsuits of all kinds. The individual has a Right, and if “HIS” Rights are violated, he demands and is compensated. This in China is unthinkable, given that a chinese citizen would not even dare to upload their music, so as not to annoy the GROUP. In US the all system is collapsing under the weight of "My Freedom”. For example, the Chinese are not free to provoke, insult or yell anyone. That "Freedom" does not exist. And yes: Exercise The Freedom of Expression or filming another person is NOT a illegal, and anyone has the “Right” to videotape what they want or say as much he want. Filming in public places is not a crime either. But, for the Chinese it is uncomprehensible to DISTURB another person, just cuz someone have the "Right" to do so. Yup... Only in America...! Where the word COURTESY should have more value than The Constitutional Rights.

He didn’t understand that the first amendment that you were speaking of was his freedom of freely worshiping. He thought you meant his right to have you stop filming for their privacy/ comfort. He went in thinking he had a right to stop you.

U may not have seen any from the street but some do have them in the back. Some are in the front as well, just depends on the design. Its meant to lessen the opportunity for distractions. The public is always welcome to go inside though. Its not a secretive place. Many ppl jus fear what they dont understand. I love it! ✌🏿

It's alright for their team to come up on our property, knock on our door and pester us, they don't stand on public property and mind their business. He actually misread the clause about kids and in big, bold letters, it says MISCONCEPTION:, not a bright fellow.
