  • I paid a visit to Tropicana Dispensary in Santa Ana Ca. on Wednesday morning 4/20 to get some video & images of the business. At first I got a friendly wave from the gal serving coffee in the parking lot, but after a short time later she approached me asking that I don't record customers going inside because it was making them feel uncomfortable. I pointed out that their own business had at least 20-30 cameras already recording their customers. Another employee approached me & I offered her some literature I carry with me . Its a brief summary of California Public Photography Law. She took the document i handed her , as she still asked me to not record her & their customers. I suggested that they are welcome to cover their faces if they don't want to be on camera & that privacy is their responsibility to create.
A shot time later one of the security guards came out to the sidewalk & informed me that if I didn't leave, they would get the authorities involved, After I told him I had freedom of press , he retreated back inside soon after.
