- I was recently documenting outside this government contractor from the curbside , when I was met by an individual who was questioning my business being there & wanted to know why I was recording. Of course he threatened to call the police after I explained to him there was noting illegal with what I was doing taking pictures & video from where I was standing. Soon after, multiple units arrived on scene to hopefully reassure what I had originally explained. After meeting with the individual(s) who called, police left without incident.

I can never understand why auditors don't call the police to report someone violating their rights.

Any situation is made worse by calling the police. There are many many cases where police arrest or violate the rights of the person who called the police.

I don't get some peoples inherent need to try to have full control of a situation. When they realize they have 0 control, they become antagonistic, angry and sometimes violent. It's the simple things you can do to bring out who someone really is inside.

I’d like to see the body cams too. While the police seemed cordial, we’ve see so many times where they talk crap on the camera person when they aren’t around. “Being a nuisance”, “trying to get a response”, or in LIA’s video, calling him a homophonic slur.

You should have gotten some names and/or incident number so you can request the body cam and the call recording. It’s interesting to hear what police are told to get that response and what the police tell the “complainant” on the phone and in person.

The police are more approachable now. They are more educated. They were very intimidating and aggressive in their behavior years ago in the 1970s for example the police would put fear in people. I like how you confidently handle the situation.

Everything cool, except I just want to mention one thing; you know that you don't have to walk on the street right? Basically in every state in the U.S. you have what is called the Right-of-Way or Easement so people do not have to walk on the road. it is usually anywhere from 5 to 15 feet going in from the curb. That means you had at least 5 feet from the curb where you could have walked on the grass and they cannot tell you anything because is considered public. Just saying. Keep up the good work!
