I don’t know much about GWAR but did he actually start playing a year ago (I started about a year and a half ago and he’s a million times better than me) or was it just a joke?
I love the fact he makes a couple of mistakes playing Ride The Lightening, but when he speeds it up it's flawless. I don't know how he can play with all that on.
at a concert a few years ago i was able to wiggle my way to the front of the pit and i was only about a foot away from him. even with all the other gwar show antics going on it was mesmerizing to watch him play. when someone truly loves what they do its like it becomes its own art form. super cool experience

I shed a tear of happiness for the Ramones shout out. Everything he said in terms of what made Johnny’s tone so awesome was 100 percent accurate. Almost NOBODY ever gets a Ramones cover right for that exact reason. It’s all downstrokes, all in the wrist, slightly less power on the off beat for a “DOWN down DOWN down DOWN down” sort of thing. Everything he mentioned, the power stance, the attitude, the downstrumming...spot on, man. Super underrated band with kickass powerful muscular riffs, especially their live albums. Respect, Pusty.

My kid brother turned me on to Gwar when we were young, and after hearing their album, my first thought was , "Wow, these guys are really great musicians". Honestly. That cut right through all the costumes, vulgarity, and blood, which I came to like later. But yeah, without their musicianship, I never wouldve been interested in them. Bravo GWAR!
Best all ages show I took my kids to ever. Gwar made it all about the kids and they loved it. Like a super soaker party. They had videos out on mtv at the time. Too much fun. Love you guys.

A bit more than one year ago they played in Bremen, Germany. The concert had to be moved to a smaller location than originally planned (what a pity!) and they completely tore the house down for us few people inside there! Haven't been a fan before that, but since that night I am. Front row, totally covered in fake blood and happy as I could have been. This concert and the party afterwards - one of the best days in my life!
