    I am off 10 and tested the pro and Apex. I was looking for a club that was thinner and a smaller club head size doesn’t intimidate me.
    I was shocked at the feel and look of the pros after going in expecting to get the Apex. I tested both twice over two hour periods and decided on the Pros.
    I have zero problem with distance so can adjust club choice accordingly.
    I rarely miss hit with these irons and feedback is fair and expected if I do which I prefer over a chunky muted golf club. It actually urges me to improve which I have since using the Pros.
    I have used blades years ago for several rounds that scared me lol.
    These clubs are really not like blades and are forgiving...looks can be intimidating!
    I am very happy and feel I can grow into these irons as my score comes down.

    I just ordered my set of Apex 21 irons yesterday. I've played Ping for the past 25 years.....First time I've every purchased a set of irons that were not Ping. I had 5 different club fitting sessions at the PGA store and every time, the Apex 21 irons had way better numbers than any other irons that I hit. The numbers don't lie..........so I ordered a set yesterday!!

    Good stuff, Neil. However, you can really enhance the experience by having a rear camera so we can see the flight, while the front view can see the ball off the turf.

    I just got fitted for the Apex 21 irons, from 4 iron go GW. I loved the look and feel. I am getting a stiff shaft also, so I think this will help bring my level to be more consistant. I was hitting my 7 irons before around 165. With the fitting I was now landing at 170. This was how it used to be for me when I had my ping irons that were probably 40years old. So looking forward to getting on the course with the set. I can't wait. Was told it would be about 6 weeks shipping.

    Your youtube channel is amazing. But, I have to admit that this video left me wanting more. Neil constantly spoke of the flight, but we never saw the flight of the ball off of any of the clubs that were tested. just a suggestion: showing flight of the balls with shot tracers and some analytics/metrics (e.g. carry distance, spin rate etc.).

    Was just fit for the Apex 21 - can't wait for them to come in. Been playing the 16's for the last 2.5 years. Love the balance of feel and forgiveness. I've always had some gapping issues in the lower irons, and from what I've read the AI face design etc, is supposed to help with that. Fitter put me in 2 degrees stronger lofts and heavier shafts because I just hit the ball way too high. I'm 7.5 hcp, so the pro's were just a bit out of my league, but love the look. Wish the Apex had the brushed look of the pro's.

    Great video.
    I have a set of Apex dcb's coming. My OLD set were Wilson Fatshafts (yes, they are old like me). I am a bogey golfer with an 85 to 90 mph driver speed. Before I ordered the dcb's, one concern was the lower spin rate and chance of mid irons running off the green. If the old 7 iron was 35 degrees with a spin of 5000 rpm's and the new dcb 7 iron is 30.5 degrees with spin of 4400 rpm's...I will just hit the new 8 iron from same yardage as old 7 iron!

    • @chrisgilligan4968
      @chrisgilligan4968 2 года назад +1

      I believe the premise is that the stronger lofts combined with strategic placement of tungsten weighting the ball flight is higher with a steeper decent angle - which should help offset at least some of the loss of spin. But if you're hitting an 8 iron the same distance as your old 7 then you'd have to compare the spin numbers of the 8 vs your 7...and again look at things like ball flight and how the ball stops on the green. How are you getting on with the new clubs?

    • @MrPortsider
      @MrPortsider 2 года назад

      @@chrisgilligan4968 Great! I just sold them..😆. I did hit the odd one sweet but they were too good for my game. I didn't have confidence when I set up over them. Heads too small and I miss the center of the face too much. Back to the fatshafts until the fall, then I will shop around for a set of game improves that are easier for me to hit.

    Nice vid but comparing what’s stamped on the bottom of the club isn’t a real comparison. Would it be better to compare with identical shafts, shaft lengths and lofts?

    Neil as a 5 handicap like yourself did you find the std apex still felt very good but had quiet a bit more forgivness than the pros? I went in for the pros last week but just hit the std apex so much more consistently

  • @alysgolfstudio567

    Currently game the apex cf19 but while nice find it a bit clunky, clicky and a little too much offset for my liking. So the pro - which I almost bought last time - looks attractive. Perhaps to combo with mine 7-gw. Notably for others no cup face so or titanium in the 8-gw clubs. Interestingly when I tested other clubs on the course in practice rounds (tried - zx7; jpx 921 sel; p770; p7mc and others) surprisingly the jpx for me was the nicest also in least dispersion and flight pattern. Also distance was not that much less compared to my apex even though loft differences were 3.5 degrees. They are producing mixed combos with lofts adjusted to fit

    Apex 21's are good clubs but that much better than the Apex 16's? 🤔 N O P E R 'S... 🤣😆 9-3-24 went to see what the hype was about & finally said ok let me upgrade my old tech to newer & I was carrying my Apex 16 8 Iron with 2 yards of the the Apex 21. 🤭😆 Straight Marketing from Callaway. If you are new to Apex Great Club get some. If you are coming from the Apex 16's or Apex 19's keep your money and find the center of the iron face for more distance. 😄😃
