So I have a 2017... I had a tuner on mine for about 3 months. I could not get the check engine light to go away. The tuner was giving me nothing but problems ... what has been your experience with a tuner ? And I also didn’t notice any significant take offs from 0- whatever
The brand tuner I use is SCT X4 but I do not use the pre loaded tunes that came on it. I contacted MPT (More Power Tuning) who specialize in ecoboost tuning and purchased 3 “custom” tunes from them. The process is pretty straight forward, just send them your vin# and they will email you 3 “custom” tunes of your choice. You then upload these tune files from your computer to the SCT tuner. You can even record a data log of your truck and send that back to them for a more customized tune which I highly recommend as every ecoboost motor is different. Did you look up what diagnostic trouble code (DTC) was your truck’s ecu was throwing? It could be something that has nothing to do with tuner. My check engine stays on but that’s because I have a catless downpipe on the truck. As for 0-60 times I’m unsure of exact time but it’s extremely quick for a pick up. My last dyno numbers were 394rwhp 455rwtq which means the truck is probably making around 450hp, 500tq at the crank - not bad for just a tune. The downpipe and cold air intake gains are negligible.
@@AD-dw6cb awesome! Thank you for the rapid response ... I am going to reach out to them. One last thing, out of the 3 customs that were sent, what is the differences ? And which one did you go with? Sorry for the ear beating, I just want a faster truck but don’t have thousands and thousands of dollars to dump into the motor
I purchases an 87 economy tune, a 93 towing/performance tune and their 93 PRX racing tune. That last one is the beast so be careful lol. It completely transforms the behavior of the truck. It’s the sole reason I bought an ecoboost after driving a friend’s truck with the 93 PRX tune.
@@AD-dw6cb awesome !! Thank you so much Andrew ! I am going to give this another try ! Seems as tho with the info you gave me this time around around will be a much better addition to the truck. What cold air Intake system did you go with ? I am looking at the roush and the AFE ... any input on this subject ? Sorry, I’m new to this whole truck world
No worries at all man happy to help as many others have helped me. I went with the Roush cold air intake on mine. Stage 3 Motorsports had a black friday deal I couldn’t pass up. But from what I’ve gathered the aftermarket cold air intake systems don’t do a whole lot power wise as the engineers at Ford designed a very efficient system. If you want to save a few dollars achieve similar air flow as the pricey kits just go with a K&N drop in filter.
its cool how the turbos make that whistle when you where brake torqueing it
Enjoy your truck .she pulls.
song you was playing is badass homie

damnit I want to see the next shift.. Guess I will do it myself. '19 5 star tuned
0 to 60 in 6 seconds is pretty bad for a ecoboost.
Slower than my stock truck
If only you could count... that was in the 5 second range
