Hey man I have 2016 3.5 lariat sport, special image package without the stupid stripes. 6” Pro comp lift, pro comp black series rear shocks and pro comp black series front coil overs. Running 35 BFgoodrich KO2 with 2 piece fuel rims in black.. performance mods include Turbosmart BOV (no gains like you said just fun), Roush stage 3 intake, SPD turbo adapters, SPD high flow performance catted downpipes (like yours), with 3” AWE ofg res delete exhaust (sounds mean! Best pipes for the eco in my opinion). Last but definitely not least all this new piping bolts up to new turbos from Garrett, bolt on twin turbo “garret power MAX”. So now I’m about to get the tuner from 5star... I’m hoping that after I install the tune all my codes will clear and my cel will turn off. My question is probably dumb but I was wondering what codes you were getting before the tune. I’m getting p0245 and 02456. Turbo wastegate solenoids A low -and A high. I. Also getting p035 turbo bypass valve along with my truck throwing itself in limp mode obviously the computer is freeking out with all the unfamiliar parts. So I called 5 star and they said to get the sct bdx or the hp or whatever (the one you have mounted up) . My question is will purchasing this tuner and the tunes help me clear these codes... or do I need to go and get a custom Dyno done. I’m having a lot of trouble because here in Colorado everybody’s being lame and scared to even Dyno tune my truck. They say the new platform is super complicated and what not... so yea I’m wondering if you threw any codes after your mods! And if so were the guys at 5star tuning able to help you all.
Damn man I’m sorry you’re getting codes. We weren’t getting any codes prior and still arent. But yes you’ll be able to delete the codes with this tuner. You don’t need a dyno tune to get the codes removed
I would of done oil catch can first so the engine can last longer in the long run should of done next the cat back so it can have better flow once you buy a cold air intake then upgrade your radiator better flow for all the are coming in now so way more water flow going then a tune the best way to go i say

I just got the same downpipe I had the shop down the road install it and its leaking any suggestions he said he was scared to crank on the clamp any tighter he thought he was going to break it?
Not really a huge issue leaking from there where you dont want it leaking at all is from the turbos in front of the 1st bank o2 sensors as on deceleration it can suck oxygen in from the outside and the o2 sensor sees this as a lean mixture and richens the fuel mixture
Steve Martinez well since these are flex fuel you just need the power mods to support the e85. For us we only have a downpipe with turbo adapters and then a cold air intake
We got ours from a company called SPDPerformance but there’s a bunch of companies that make downpipes and turbo adapters. So you can really chose which one you’d like. I do suggest SPD because they’re holding up great and have very good reviews and are really popular!
What gear was the truck dyno'd on? I hear 7th gear is 1:1, yet my truck was dyno'd on 5th. I was a little confused as I hear our 10r80's should be dyno'd on 7th gear.
@@RatchetWrenches dug in a little more on this, and turns out a lot of tuners are just staying away from the 7th gear pull on the f150 stock tires. Some have reported a 7th gear wot dyno pull all the way to rev limiter without any issues, but I guess it's risky.
I have an 2.7 eco boost beating all the 3.5’s sent my way. Tune, res delete, awe exhaust, intake, downpipes on 93 octane tune I can hit a 12.3 quarter mile with 35’s on
We said all the mods we have that relate to the tune. But I’m not sure what gear they tuned it. And 5 star because they’re a reputable company and have been tuning the ecoboost engines for years. We were recommended them by a friend but I’m sure there is plenty of tuners out there that can achieve similar specs
We’re in Somerset county but we don’t know of any meets anytime soon but usually spring time there’s a bunch of truck meets at Raceway Park (Englishtown NJ)
There could be a high demand or this pandemic could’ve affected their work flow and production. I’m currently on my third week of waiting for camshafts for my mustang
Jacob Wozow no problem! Yeah he swears by them! He’s had some other company light bars and they aren’t as good as these. So definitely take a look into them. But we appreciate your service!
Other trucks with the same setup on with the right fuel mixture push that. So yes guesstimated 510hp is what we’d push based on others. Of course there will be some fluctuation but we can safely say that 510hp is a great guess.
We talk about the modifications done to the truck and show the specific mods in clips to showcase them, they are not random. Seems like you should be on google instead of RUclips if you want to read words
Ryan Haecherl to be exact its 468hp and 533tq on 93. We have a dyno sheet and a video showing the results. Then on the e50 tune it pushes over 500hp... so yes 500hp on stock turbos.
@@RatchetWrenches yep I watched. I'll wait and see that video. You need an intercooler and meth order the cvf titian intercooler. Get a dragy and let's see what you put down now. How many revisions on your 93 5* tune?
Ryan Haecherl the stock intercooler can provide enough performance to withstand the e50 tune. If we plan to run the e50 tune often yes we’ll prob upgrade to a mishimoto intercooler. The tuner has been back and fourth with revisions to perfect it. We haven’t sent over a data log in about a year since we don’t have close access to e85 and then this pandemic. To answer your question on the number of revisions for the 93 tune I believe it was 4 or so. They pretty much had that tune lockdown
Couple Questions, I have a 2020 F-150 3.5L with just a 4inch catback straight pipe. I am wanting to put an air intake and downpipe, Will I definitely need a programmer/Tuner to install these? Also does the downpipe come with all hardware needed to install or will I need the SPD turbo exhaust adapters?
Hey you won’t need a tuner to install those parts, but If you want the most performance out of those parts I highly suggest getting it tuned. This particular downpipe came with all the required parts to install yes. The turbo adapters are separate and are a totally different purchase but while you’re down there you might as well upgrade them ya know?
Thanks for the reply, and alright ya I am thinking of getting a tuner but was thinking of getting those other parts first so wanted to see if I could get them and do the tune in a couple months. Did u replace the intercooler?
So can you run E-50 with stock 3.5L Ecoboost fuel pump and injectors safely? or did you need to replace any parts? so your parts list is 1) BOV 2) Air Intake 3) Downpipe w/adapters 4) Tuner with 5 star tunes. I am definitely looking into these same upgrades if it can get this kind of improvements.
I have 2018 with similar mods. I also have IC, hot/ cold pipes and exhaust. I ran E 50 tune for about a year and a half. Stock fuel pump and injectors. She never ran lean for me. In the shop now with the broken crank.

Where in NJ are you guys located? What track are you going to?
David Carr somerset county, but we’d prob end up going to Atco raceway
Dynojet or Mustang Dyno?
Is this his police vehicle? Super dope if so.
Actually he’s a fire fighter so he uses it for that as well!
Do the Mods and Tune void the factory warranty?
The tune yes. But you can switch back to the stock tune at any time so technically no one will know if you switch back. The mods will void warranties for sure
Bro! Send the link to buy this BOV.
Appreciate! As always, sick truck and video!
amzn.to/2yxM7B0 this is the exact one! But thank you!
You can get the same exact sound removing the relief hose from between the intake and thestock blow off valve.
I'm here early! What's up guys!
Appreciate that!
is it a good daily driver, i just picked up a 13 f150 eco boost 54K on it, and want it reliable and good as a Daily driver
Why no tunes in the winter?
A Soulia here in jersey there’s no sense to have all that power and waste all that gas so we just set it back to stock
@@RatchetWrenches did you ever re race the ram after the tune?
A Soulia nah it wouldn’t be worth it. The ran lost pre tune so it’ll lose now that we have the f150 even more power
@@RatchetWrenches tune the ram?
A Soulia the f150 has the tune, the f150 beat the ram on no tune so now that the f150 has the tune it’s gonna blow the ram out of the water
I would of done oil catch can first so the engine can last longer in the long run should of done next the cat back so it can have better flow once you buy a cold air intake then upgrade your radiator better flow for all the are coming in now so way more water flow going then a tune the best way to go i say
I would love to hear the Borla Attack on that beast!!!
🤔🤔
Roush exhaust sounds wayyy better!!
I watched a LOT of videos looking for an exhaust that didn't sound like a ricer and the Flowmaster Outlaw sounded the best. Of course, videos don't give you an accurate representation so I had to just take a chance and I have to say...the Outlaw does sound pretty damned mean and very loud on cold starts and revving, but not a lot of drone when cruising down the highway.
There is no exhaust that is going to make a v6 sound good
@@Deere-uh4go Good thing that's just your opinion!
When will tuning for the 2022 be avaliable?
Not sure tbh
I’m in the market for a brand new truck. I appreciate this video and learning you’re mods. I plan to do the same build. Will this truck tow 9000 pounds? Camper
Thank you for the comment! Yah I think you’ll love building it similar to ours. I’m not quite sure the towing capacity especially now with the tune idk, it adds a lot of tq
Ratchet Wrenches what is the make and model of the tuner he used.
Anxiety Fpv NGauge tuner and it was dyno tuned by 5star tuning
Towing capabilities on a gen2 3.5 eco is roughly 15k lbs
Truck life
How much did he put into the truck $$$$$?
A good amount hahah that’s why he hasn’t modded it in a while
@@RatchetWrenches I’m getting the 2021 limited definitely want to do make my truck like that it’s badass
I just put an AWE 0FG non resonated exhaust on my 18 3.5 eco. I think it's one of the better sounding exhausts for the 3.5 eco.
Nice! Yeah I’ve heard from many people they are good exhausts especially on the Ecoboost trucks
Do they make any more power? Do you need an intake as well?
@@timvildis8925 I have no idea. If it does it's not noticeable. I don't see why you'd need an intake with an exhaust
Thanks for info
Could I do this to a 2.7 ?
You can do something like it yeah. I’m not exactly sure if the same mods we used are compatible but I’m sure they make 2.7L specific mods
PARTS LIST
Watch out for the cam phasers , mine went out at 63,000 miles
What year truck
@@masonsmucker4745 2017. The dealer says 9 trucks are waiting for same backorder part, t this dealer alone. Love the truck as a whole, when working, most versatile and set up perfectly for me. CANT trust them now-a-days. Im thinking about buying an old carburated v8, least amount of electronics. Electronics SUCk they just dont last, as well as these high tech engines.
I just got the same downpipe I had the shop down the road install it and its leaking any suggestions he said he was scared to crank on the clamp any tighter he thought he was going to break it?
Well where is it leaking from? Front the turbos? Or from where the catback connects to the downpipe?
Where the catback connects to the downpipe.
@@RatchetWrenches Where the downpipe bolts to the catback.
Interesting. Definitely take that back to them because it shouldn’t be leaking from there.
Not really a huge issue leaking from there where you dont want it leaking at all is from the turbos in front of the 1st bank o2 sensors as on deceleration it can suck oxygen in from the outside and the o2 sensor sees this as a lean mixture and richens the fuel mixture
What kind of gas mileage does it get?
It's get around what a stock F150 gets whatever that number is
@@RatchetWrenches ok good to know
Ay bro what do I need to be e85
Steve Martinez well since these are flex fuel you just need the power mods to support the e85. For us we only have a downpipe with turbo adapters and then a cold air intake
And were do I get the turbo adapters I’m already straight pipe
Downpipe*
We got ours from a company called SPDPerformance but there’s a bunch of companies that make downpipes and turbo adapters. So you can really chose which one you’d like. I do suggest SPD because they’re holding up great and have very good reviews and are really popular!
@@RatchetWrenches I have a 2019 3.5 and want to run e 85... what do I need?
Or keep it 93 tune any suggestions to make it quicker
Could a 2.7 eco boost make the same numbers??
Theoretically yes
No it can not. It can make similar gains but does not have the same potential
@@blakehyslop2605you know the 2.7 is faster right?
Whatever happened to this truck
Dave moved to Pennsylvania so it became very difficult for us to film with it. It's still running good though
What gear was the truck dyno'd on? I hear 7th gear is 1:1, yet my truck was dyno'd on 5th. I was a little confused as I hear our 10r80's should be dyno'd on 7th gear.
Ours was dyno’d on 4th gear. But I actually heard that about the 7th gear pulls. I’m Confused as well now
I think the issue is you hit speed limiter in the higher gears and can’t rev out fully
@@noahgullion2 No, speed limiter is off.
@@RatchetWrenches dug in a little more on this, and turns out a lot of tuners are just staying away from the 7th gear pull on the f150 stock tires. Some have reported a 7th gear wot dyno pull all the way to rev limiter without any issues, but I guess it's risky.
Gonzalo Carmona True, once it’s tunes it can be disabled, but there are still mechanical limits such as tires that aren’t rated for over a certain mph
I have been modding my f-150 2.7 do you guys have anyway to send the links to the parts
I have an 2.7 eco boost beating all the 3.5’s sent my way. Tune, res delete, awe exhaust, intake, downpipes on 93 octane tune I can hit a 12.3 quarter mile with 35’s on
Awesome!
Are the blinkies blue for the FD?
Google User I misread that for “blinkers” but yes the lights are blue for FD
Ratchet Wrenches yeah lol it’s my childish name for emergency lights. We em all over our vehicles.
No engine spec, obviously 3.5 and a 10R80, but no mod list ??
What gear did you dyno ?
Why 5 star ?
We said all the mods we have that relate to the tune. But I’m not sure what gear they tuned it. And 5 star because they’re a reputable company and have been tuning the ecoboost engines for years. We were recommended them by a friend but I’m sure there is plenty of tuners out there that can achieve similar specs
What part of jersey are you guys in? Know of any truck meets out there? (Im in Staten Island)
We’re in Somerset county but we don’t know of any meets anytime soon but usually spring time there’s a bunch of truck meets at Raceway Park (Englishtown NJ)
There must be a high demand for the SPD downpipes. I ordered mine 9days ago. It still hasn't shipped from their location. I'm not a happy customer
There could be a high demand or this pandemic could’ve affected their work flow and production. I’m currently on my third week of waiting for camshafts for my mustang
@Chris Kibodeaux when I paid for fast shipping.! Kma
So basically you said fuck your warranty and modded it. Kinda thinking the same 😂
Exactly hahaha! I mean if you can, send it fuck it
Hey ask him what kind of light bar her has in the front windshield.
Jacob Wozow his lightbars are from speedtechlights.com since he’s a fire fighter
@@RatchetWrenches awesome. Thanks. I am as well in Alabama
Jacob Wozow no problem! Yeah he swears by them! He’s had some other company light bars and they aren’t as good as these. So definitely take a look into them. But we appreciate your service!
My AFE has no noise sound?
Just push your foot down to hear it!
More load the louder it gets
This guy looks like Kyle from 1320 videos
Hahahah
My ecoboost gained 150 hp with a blow off valve
I think I would have started with a standard cab short bed or even a mustang.
Sick!!
Yes indeed!
2.7 with 800hp
That's impressive!
guesstimated 510hp?? hear that all the time.
Other trucks with the same setup on with the right fuel mixture push that. So yes guesstimated 510hp is what we’d push based on others. Of course there will be some fluctuation but we can safely say that 510hp is a great guess.
Like he needs another burger
Wow making fun of someone over the internet real cool
I'd advise against meth. To many issues can arrive. Air bubbles, running low and or doing pulls while low on meth.
Yeah I don't think the owner of the truck ended up doing the meth injection anyway
Get a Intercooler
Why can't dude keep his hand off his face while driving 🤣🤣🤣
Chris F he’s not used to being on camera and ppl have nervous habits when they have a camera in their face. It happens 😬
Made it 34 seconds. Autotune and trucks? That's a hard no.
Nice
How about an actual list and not some mumbled together video of random clips.
We talk about the modifications done to the truck and show the specific mods in clips to showcase them, they are not random. Seems like you should be on google instead of RUclips if you want to read words
500 hp with stock turbos and 5* tune? Haha get tf out of here
Ryan Haecherl to be exact its 468hp and 533tq on 93.
Hard to believe when you dont got one ig. Stop being a drag ya bimbo
@@homerog4920 I own a eb truck. I'm in all the eb truck groups. Again you're wrong...

Watch out for the cam phasers , mine went out at 63,000 miles
David Sanderson thanks yeah a lot of ppl mention that !
Mine went at under 60,000 thank god warranty covered it. Probably my biggest complaint about the 3.5, which I love mine it is so much fun gets great gas mileage, but the maintenance longevity compared to the 5.0 is just not there at all. I feel the 5.0 will just last way longer than a 3.5 will. Im waiting on the day my wife wants a new truck and I’m gonna take over that 3.5 and build it out to have 750hp, hopefully, to the wheels. I’m a ford guy through and through. I own a 16 f350 powerstroke. I do have to say that 3.5 is very impressive and look forward to see how it changes over the years for the better.
