After a 25 year lay-off, I'm amazed how much music programming has moved on. But your tutorials are helping me master my AKAI MPK/Beats combo brilliantly. The end result is amazingly high quality on my crappy little laptop!
Great demo. The only thing I would recommend doing different to save time is to copy the sequence into different sequences and using the mute feature in song mode instead of making the entire song in one sequence. However this is a great presentation with a lot of useful information.
This daw is just perfect. It's everything I've been looking for. I've never been satisfied with the default layout of most daws, and you guys've just given us this for free! this is awesome and I'm totally getting myself a real physical mpc soon

it would help if you were more clear as in to guiding people on how you got your screen or how you load the files when you new to this it helps to see what is being done to get files loaded that way so some people could follow better
So True. He Started With Pre Loaded Samples. How did he make them play with the Pads Empty and No icons selected on the bottom right of the window. He doesn't seem to answer any questions on here either. How did he load the samples to show up in the small box where the Drums icon is?
I just purchased the Akai Mini MK3 to start up my new hobby. This video has so much information that helps me enjoy this new venture. Thanks for uploading. It does have A LOT of information so I have to watch it like multiple times to be able to grasp all of it , which is good because is all for free!!
its a great little thing to have for all the old beats... to do bits on them that you cant do on the 3000 2500 an so on... but one thing i see is that its missing fx when i load up my 2500 beats eveything is there but some fx are gone an there not in this software kind of sucks
@Icestro beats 11/10. I started working with Cakewalk in 2001-->Sonor Producer 8.x. I built dozens of rigs, Scsi drives, the fastest processors (essentially gaming rigs). I have a ton of old gear etc., including a Roland FA06. IMHO this just sort of made everything obsolete. Clearly, more tracks would be great, but there is nothing stopping someone from fleshing out a significant portion of an idea, and porting it into Ableton etc. I bought an MPK mini in 2018, and sort of shelved it. I decided to look into any new developments yesterday, and literally fell out of my chair. Bravo. I mean, if these guys offered a dental plan, and free money, it would be better for sure, but what the hell, this is very well-thought out, and the tutorial(s) are simply elegant, insightful and inspiring.

Andy PLEASE Do a Video with Mixing Start to Finish Inside of the MPCX Software with Gain Stage. It seems like when we stop out the box of the MPCX into Protools using Audio steams it looses the sound of the MPCX. It sounds flat. I really would like to get into using the Sends and Returns- Aux inside of the MPCX Or Software.
I love how this is not for mixing and mastering and recording and all of that. It's about a sample based beat making extension. That is a whole other process that I spend alot of time on and have a hard time just having fun making quick beats. I hope this improves my workflow
I had it for a little while, like a couple months but never really used it. Long story short, my laptop crashed, I recovered it and now I'm using it. I love it. It's not very intuitive, but once you get used to the workflow, it's a powerful workstation.
@@TheTonecii Its literally identical to the software in the MPC one or X or live. It didn't work on My PC but I still tell other people to use it as for most people it will work.

I feel like this jumps into complex and very specific functionality and unfortunately skips over some settings. Will continue to repeat watching and see what I can soak in, but video does omit some of what the teacher is doing.
Dont over think it... u need a sample packs to do it. when u picture starting off with a sample... it will all male perfect sense. thank God he didnt dumb it down... how would people learn the terminology. great vid this is
Maby however any problems you have, you can email Akai and they will respond and help you out. Drop them an email stating what your having issues with and then they will try to help.

I've been using MPC software since January and the way you sequence Beats has always been my issue with it. I'd make different sequences and program them in song mode. That bass to key group tip was golden

Is there an drum for MPK mini play available? I own a mini play and the DAW doesn't seem to be reading my pads, keys or knobs on the controller. It wasn't an option when choosing a drum map and I'm wondering if that has something to do with it? Thanks!

When I do this for other kinds of sounds, it plays them in different notes, but it also speeds them up/ slows them down. How do I avoid this? Thank you!!!! And great video :)

You can set the output audio settings under edit>preferences > audio and there you can choose your audio device to get the sound and check it before confirming

Can anyone help me figure out how to change the volume of the notes? For example at 18:00 you can see how all the notes are at different colors which signifies the different volumes based on how hard you hit the keys, but I can't always hit them hard enough to get the volume I want while playing. I would guess there's a way to change that volume in the program but I can't find it

Thanks for the 'Global' -> 'Factory' tip. Even with M-Audio Oxygen Pro selected in there, and 'MPC' selected on the Oxygen Pro itself, the record / play / stop etc. on the controller have no effect on MPC beats, any ideas?

Why is the MPC beats program giving me so many problems? I’ve mapped the Q- Links and Pads, but they keep coming unmapped and the program (MPC Beats) keeps kicking me out. It kicked me out after I hit a pad after I I got everything mapped. When I go back into the program my Q-Links and pads are unmapped. I’m using MPC 218.
Anyone know of a video of how to setup/map MPK261 to MPC beats? My pads don't line up and I have preset mPCEsntl selected. Startup wizard did not work as it does with the MPC mini.
There is some max. time limit in MPC software and also in MPC One for recorded audio tracks (150 bars @ 60 bpm). Is it possible to remove this time limit some how?

hello im running into what im hoping isnt an issue with my whole controller. i follow all the steps to set everything up i go to load samples onto the drum pads and when i touch each pad i can hear the sample but also in the background i hear piano. i have already separated the midi channels in the editor. please help if you could.
When we load a program, the mapping is not done automatically. The knobs mapped to Qlinks wont work either. So is chords performance in pads. Please provide solutions. When I first installed, it was mapped correctly but now its not. I am using mpk mini mk2

I never was able to get it to work to be honest, it deleting midi randomly.
Why would they abandon it? It seems pretty popular, is this something they are known to do??

Why wont the MPD218 pads align with the software? example Pad 16 has no sound and two pads have identical sound while 2 or 3 pads have no sound?

It's the same except it only gives 8 midi and 2 audio tracks. It even has an extra expansion and it's the newer version of the Full Software.

The main audio sample was in dm and the Bass loop was in Fm, Do you need to find a Dm note from the sbass loop you used for the bass ?
Why is the MPC beats program giving me so many problems? I’ve mapped the Q- Links and Pads, but they keep coming unmapped and the program (MPC Beats) keeps kicking me out. It kicked me out after I hit a pad after I I got everything mapped. When I go back into the program my Q-Links and pads are unmapped. I’m using MPC 218.
Can the NI MASCHINE Mk1 be used as a controller with this? If yes, is there a video on how to set it up?
Anyone know of a video of how to setup/map MPK261 to MPC beats? My pads don't line up and I have preset mPCEsntl selected. Startup wizard did not work as it does with the MPC mini.
There is some max. time limit in MPC software and also in MPC One for recorded audio tracks (150 bars @ 60 bpm). Is it possible to remove this time limit some how?

hello im running into what im hoping isnt an issue with my whole controller. i follow all the steps to set everything up i go to load samples onto the drum pads and when i touch each pad i can hear the sample but also in the background i hear piano. i have already separated the midi channels in the editor. please help if you could.
When we load a program, the mapping is not done automatically. The knobs mapped to Qlinks wont work either. So is chords performance in pads. Please provide solutions. When I first installed, it was mapped correctly but now its not. I am using mpk mini mk2
