OMG the key velocity is the golden tip. Made it so much better! Thank you man.
TE AMO WEY!!! I got my keybord as a gift from my dad 2 years ago and i didn’t really used it because i felt it was hard to use, but with your hacks you really helped me to start using it. And i can say its awesome. Un millon de gracias💕 saludos desde 🇲🇽 mexico
Tip #2 is invaluable. I was sitting here thinking "damn I'm weak as hell I gotta smash these keys just to get a decent sound" lol.
same! excellent video all around, but especially tip 2
Always read the manual.
i see that pfp ✊
@@GreenBolshevik Hell yeah comrade 🤘🏽
I was literally going crazy
As someone whos finally making the switch from old school Akai MPC 2000xl for sampling sequencing and physical synths and only using DAWs for audio recording my equipment... thanks for making this video and making the transition so much easier im so used to navigating midi controls on tiny screens and horrible interfaces left over from the 90s and this made it super easy to find some of the first things i actually wanted to change
You're doing a great job. Recently got a MPK. These videos are very helpful.
Please make more of these.
I'm sold, this solved most of the complaints other reviewers had! Thanks!
Thanks so much for the video. Some great tips here. The velocity setting and the transport control were excellent.
Thanks for this Info, I.m playing Bass Synth now. drumming for 62 Years. You are a very smart young man. Thanks again!
Thanks for the tips! Have been wanting to get back in the game for a while.
THx Bro. U were the most helpful and straight forward one yet. Good Looks.
Very handy tips! I haven't seen anyone else suggest these yet.
Btw, the pads are so stiff on this controller, you may want to get used to hitting the corners, they're far more reactive than anywhere else on the pads. other than that, excellent quality, wonderful pots, and controls, and one hell of a value...DON'T GET ALL BLACK KEYS!
Why not all black keys?
@@pbnemorh2931 it just takes away the visual aid a keyboard naturally gives you.
@@DEADMOOSE23 i agree.. I got all black keys. 😂
Too late 😂
@@DEADMOOSE23 I went with the grey
Excellent video, you're the best yo
I am just starting out and this very brief and succinct how to was so helpful. Thank you.
Love the channel thank you for the tips really needed them!!!
Many thanks for the tips!!
Very clever content Sir, thanks !
Akai totally hooked me up!!
I bought a MKII years ago, and got in touch with Akai. They sent me links to every useful thing for my keyboard AND hundreds of dollars worth of cool free software. I DIDN'T EVEN BUY FROM THEM!! I bought it used, and Akai made $0 from me. I was floored by how cool they were about helping me out.
Very cool!
@@MusicTechnologistcan you please respond to the other comments? Like what software are you using on the ipad, and how to change the velocity of the beat pads?
@@MusicTechnologistother than that, good video
You don't sell a man a car, you sell him five cars over 20 years.
Awesome always wondered if u could tweak the pads out great info
Cool! Especially with the transport controls it's some magic!
For a newbie, this was sick, thanks!
Subscribed and liked your video. I bought this one and yeah, I will definitely watch your RUclips videos related to this product. Thanks a lot. You explained it very well.
At first I thought you would say "press 'Full Level' and then you don't have to hit so hard'. Because that's what I've done, essentially turning off velocity. But when you'd held it for five seconds I was blown away!
Great tutorial. What I was looking for...thanks
this vid really helped a lot, awesome!
Great video!
Way cool man! Thank you!. i almost mailed this thing back but im picking it
Thanks Brotha, I needed that!
Great video. Thanks for the tips
thanks a lot - it was very-very usefull tutorial, looking for another
thanks for the info on how to increase the velocity of the keys, i avoided using my mpk keys for years because of that, thanks bro
This was helpful! Thank you.
Awesome video. Thank you so much. I’m a guitarist just getting into recording in Reaper. I just picked one of these up and getting it set up has been kind of frustrating.
Pad sensitivity curve can be set in MPC Beats/Software.
Mini Plus is cool but nothing can beat the MPK Mini as a throw in your backpack thing.
I have a MPK Mini and a MIDIMix in a case and throw that in my backpack along w the laptop. Perfect combo.
Where is the setting for pad sensitivity?
@@LDJE_LIVE same thing I want to know, seem to be locked out from being able to adjust it. The only way I've seen to fix it is to void the warranty and add electrical tape to make the pads more sensitive
@@felonious_assault Is there a video for this or just written instructions? ^^
@@9Lumberjack6 yeah I saw it on RUclips just look up MPK mini pad sensitivity or something similar and a few should pop up.
I didn't found the pad sensitivity setting :/
Right on! Very helpful! Thank you!
Thank you. Really good tips!
you a real one for this, thank you sir.
Thanx bro, i payed AlBe for the mapping preset for transpose and you gave it up for free.
i had an early mpk mini .I like the new versions .They have all been pretty good value
This was very helpful thank you
Nice. Thank you sir for sharing. Big help for a beginner appreciate you
Appreciate the advice!
Great Tips, thanks for sharing. You are amazing
Thanks Brother it Helped a lot
Very helpful. Thank you!
Good looking out on the velocity settings info.
Very helpful video. Many Thanks
Hey!Thank you so much for the Fix the Key Velocity! I did it and now it sounds awesome!!!😍🩷🎹🙏✨ Lots Of Love from Switzerland 🇨🇭❤🤍🪐 ✨✨✨
Great tips, thanks!
Do you know of a way tp change the velocities of the pads like you did the keys? Or are those settings applicable to all velocity-sensitive items?
Great vid, thanks a lot.
Such valuable info!
Very informative thanks!
Great Vid! Thank you!
thanks dude really helpful
thanks a million for this!
Great video and extremely helpful! Texas 🖖🏾
great video. thank you!
Great vid!
if you have a mpk mini 2 and youre using fl studio and want to fix the velocity, go to MIDI options, click on the line next to "link velocity on note to" and change the velocity curve by dragging the center dot up to make the graph curved.
can also set velocity to none if you dont care about dynamic range.
Thanks 🙏 i have both mini & pro, great midi devices
Thank u
It's really helpful
Thank you for the heads up
Really useful video!
Was looking at this keyboard as a portable stand alone keyboard for doing live looping with my guitar and vocals.
If I use any app for midi, it would probably be Garageband on my iPad for running tracks, so having those CC commands is pretty awesome
So helpful bro, thank you so much 🙏
Happy to help!
Great tips 👍🏾
I love this channel
Awesome , THANK YOU
Brilliant! Thanks
That external link for bpm is gold dust nice one fella . Thnx for the tips A+++
amazing thank you
Most useful video on this keyboard.
Thank you!
That velocity trick helped a lot as someone who tries to stay away from the keys due to that, this really gave me more use out of this
What is the name of that software which you use in this video on ipad? Is this available on iphone?
Bro, thank you so much. The first tip helped a lot!! I was getting a lot of lag, much better now. Is there any way to reduce it even more? I still get sometimes, specially on the pads, not so much with the keys. Thanks
Very awesome, practical and useful video. Thank you!
Thanks! Good work.
You’re welcome
Great Tutorial! Thanks! What's the best DAW to get for a beginner?
Thanks so so so much :)
Thank you so much ✨
THANK YOU BRO!!!!!
Thank you!! 🎉
Helpful video. Is there a way to map the transport controls in logic/GarageBand?
is this plug in play with most DAWs? like transport controls and all that
I bought this thing and haven’t done anything with it any more videos like this would be helpful
so helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Defaults:
V1: 24.0
V2: 06.0
V3: 04.0
V4: 02.4
Black bal: 0.7x
also if u want to have all keys sound the same max all of these values and see how you like it. Yes there wont be much of a velocity curve but at least all sounds will sound the same
Is there a midi keyboard out there that is modern and just WORKS in daws without hours of troubleshooting
Great tips, thank you for sharing all this information!
Dude thank you
Getting the adaptor is a smart move
i often find the knobs not configure properly with MPC but otherwise this is a great stuff
thanx for tips. is there any soft with this unit to download for Ipad ?
Is it also possible to map the control buttons (play, rec...) to the piano keys? Having them on the drum pads is not really convenient when playing with them.. :(
Thanks!
nice tips bro. thx. Btw there are some audible clicks in between cuts, crossfades bro.
What is the best way to connect to an iphone ?
I'm about to take a new approach to an old dream... thank you!
The Full Level button thing doesn't work on the Mini Plus, interestingly. I can't find what the alternative is, of course you can manipulate these settings in software and upload them to the keyboard but its obviously a slower process.
Did you installed those extension on your tablet ?
Cn i also do on my cellphone?
Which apps where on the tablet ?
