      Hey I have a question, and nobody seems to be giving a straight answer. Can you run this synth through a guitar amp without GarageBand or a computer at all? I was thinking of buying it and then plugging it into a an amp the same way I would plug in a guitar to an amp (or into effects pedals run through to an amp), but I'm not sure if it's able to do that, or if any midi synth can for that matter. @@kkrex

    Nice tutorial, finally learned about Full Level and Note Repeat!
    One cool thing I found was that you can turn off Full Level and set Note Repeat to 1/32T. Then you can use the pressure on the pads to create a fade in/ fade out effect with your sample; works well with closed hats and rim shots. Bass kicks sound like a lawnmower.

    For those wondering to buy 🤔
    I'd say its definitely worth the money! especially if you don't want to be intimated by all the knobs pads ect and don't know exactly how to play yet. I've had mine for about a month and I love it but ill admit when I get extra cash I definitely want one with more knobs to control fl studio fader ect you're able to with this one but as you become more fluent you start to notice things that could help you.

    Thanks dude! This is probably the best mk2 beginner intro tutorial I've found on YT by far, just simple, thorough, and on task. 👌 I'm slowly learning how to create and produce, and I bought this mk2 a couple years ago, so I could have a way to create basic piano notes or melodies, connected it and started using it with LogicPro, but had to do a complete systems restructure for backup/production/redundancy hardware-wise in short. Watching your vid helped me realize that it still worked easily using GarageBand, but I can't seem to get it to plug and play with LogicPro the same way. Sooo, would you recommend any vids on the tech aspect of connecting and using the mk2 with Logic and what vids do you think are good explaining how to program the pads? I would appreciate your opinion... That brief snippet at the end of your tutorial was def fire too...🤙

    One thing that is worth mentioning is that the arpeggiator on this device has a big delay from the moment you press the keys. This makes it frustrating when you're trying to play live with other band members. You can test this with and without arpeggiator and see the difference for yourself.

    I’m new to all this. Do you need to connect it to a computer for it to make sound? If so is there any machine where you can just make beats on and can carry it around

    • @growponeplaysgames2446
      @growponeplaysgames2446 5 лет назад +1

      iisMisclick no, you have to plug it in to a computer, Which has music software installed like let’s say Fl Studio, and you’ll have to use an instrument on that, the keyboard itself has no sound of it’s own.

    • @siqaraminmassaquoi1999
      @siqaraminmassaquoi1999 5 лет назад

      Yes this one has to be connected to a computer. The Akai MPK mini Play has 128 sounds built into it. However you cannot loop or save the sounds.

    • @jcm5225
      @jcm5225 5 лет назад

      In this case you will need to connect to a computer with a DAW to make beats, but Akai (and other brands) do a few different options for that sort of thing. The MPK Mini Play is very similar to the MPK mini in this video but has built-in sounds and speakers. A more advanced standalone machine is the Akai MPC. There are plenty of different options for standalone samplers from other brands too. Standalone machines can get quite pricey though.

    • @rumi1267
      @rumi1267 5 лет назад

      For this version of the board, you must connect it to a computer. If you would like to be able to carry it around without a computer, get the Akai MPK Mini Play. It is pretty much the same thing but it includes sounds.

      Caustic 3. Go to play store on your phone. And find their link to free pc download. It's badass. And free ;)

      Caustic 3 got me into"Beat making"
      Its good for beginners who are new to music making.
      Its great for learning the basics in a intiutive way.
      After a couple of weeks you are going to know what attack, Release, filters, octaves, appregiators are (and much more) ans how to use it! Its free for pc and 5 bucks or less on the playstore.
      I tried starting with fruity loops (FL-Studio) and its just too much. I could not get into it. But after a couple of months with caustic i was able to switch and adapt to FL Studio.
      Caustic is great for on the Run. Make a beat and have fun in 5 Minutes.
      If you want to start making music (Electronic/Techno) and have an good and easy start then check out caustic. It opened the world of music and Synthesizers to me and i can music as i wanted to!
      Btw caustic may look simple but you can create full Songs; Tracks with it with Everything like Automation! Its really good for Starters.
      There is MIDI Support. You can use any midi Controller as well as the Akai MK2. You can configure Everything

I have installed the mini editor and I have watched SOOO many tutorials, with urs being the best so far! I was hoping you could make a tutorial on how to connect it to LMMS or how to change the sounds of the pads in general. Thx man and keep the great beats poppin'!

      After you add whatever instrument you want to use to the song, you have to click the settings button on the instrument, go to midi, input, and then click the one you're using. You have to do this for each new instrument you use

Now I’m just messing around with it. Thought I was gonna sell it, but this is a definite keeper. No idea what I’m doing yet, but I’m having a lot of fun with it. Very cool!

    KKREX You personally the reason i purchased this Akai back in 2018 and shame on me for not taking it out of the box 3.5 years ago but the manuel scared me bro and i have not played keys in over 16 years ago cause my main instrument was slap Jaco and Victor Wooten were abd he is still a great bassman, than i was a drummer in which i adopited play bass and drums at the same time and singing lead vocals at the same time and ny favorite to play were The Police and Genesis singing peter gabriel but i dont wanna bore you two much than came in Rush Geddys high voice playing neils parts and gettys greatness on the bass and the professors drum playing so all of a sudden i am scarred to play this mini keyboard and i practiced 8 hrs a day and played 5-7 nights a week and the pandemic helped me KKrexx and thank you for all the tipps cause your a bad ass my friend and you ROCK Bro !!!!!!!!
