Guys... this is an advert or "infomercial". He doesnt care about subs, he is trying to make his product (Reason) look attractive to you. He says "go make some music" but what he means is "go a purchase my product and use it to make music"
Lebowski69 - That’s just basic business. You didn’t have to explain it. It was implied. What I was trying to say is, he isn’t one of those desperate people that tell you to either sub/spend your money. He does it properly.
Lebowski69 - Exactly. When people beg it just kinda makes me feel bad for them in a way, but also just repels me. This dude knows how to advertise. I don’t really like the product, but it was interesting to watch.
i hate how he never made an actual song off this beat, no matter how old the video gets im always gonna come back to watch this to hear the beat ! such a great beat
Well the video is heavily edited, do not doubt the fact that he put time into that track and than he wasn't slower when he was a beginner. Keep making music
I’ve been a Reason user for years. All the Propellerhead tutorials are awesome and all have a friendly “just do it” feel. THIS one however takes that to another level. This man is so inspiring and smooth with his skills that I literally jumped out of bed and started working on my next film score right after watching this! Beyond awesome!
Right, makes me want to switch daws lol I just might, I've always like reason due to being able to turn the rack around but grew up on garageband and logic
At first I was put off a little when he said he's a "music producer" since everyone today call themselves that. Later on I realised this guy really knows his trade. Great video.
This guy has skills and knowledge...and he has a effective way of demonstrations and articulated in clear manner to grasp the concept...fantastic presentation...bravo bruh..
Well done really enjoyed. The whole experience, no click bait, advertisement pitch, begging for subs just real raw talent. Flowing like water. Exactly how you sell a product. Booyah
Wow, how he made the chords sound so epic with just a few adjustments, added bass, a melody, strings all within a few minutes was incredible. Amazing but a little too fast for us beginners to follow along :)
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Very nice work. Inspired, Wow! My son bought me the Akai Lpd8 MKII for X-Mas. I'm still trying to figure it out? Especially with which Simple Studio Programs / DAW? I had Serato Studio, but deleted it. It was too confusing. But, I do use Serato Professional for DJing. Let me know what I can do. Thanks. 😊
Wow it’s amazing how this mans brain can put all that together... When he got down to the synths i’m just like damn this sounds great and he just kept adding more and more and it sounded even more amazing each time. This beat is dope af and so is that man
Its in the music theory they chose for this commercial. They chose particular chords to work with those who are looking to be inspired, in order to provide them confidence in their product.
WOW! What a demo! This video proves that Reason is such a simple DAW to use. I was searching for a DAW to begin my Production career with and I've just found it. Thanks a bunch.
Yeah - Codecs are on device developers. Go to their site. Remember to set your Keyboards as a KEYBOARD - then set that same device AGAIN as a CONTROL SURFACE for knobs/ faders/ etc if needed. Yellow exclamation mark is ok.
cool lil vid u put together showing in a simplistic manor the basic functions and benefits of using midi controllers and what they can bring to your production.... being a long time user of soft studios now and the ever increasing variety of equipment to use with them its good to see a vid that for someone starting out to watch and it not be over complicating things and using jargon that may aswell be another language to them..... a good example shown and explained.... nice one
Because the MPKmini is crap. I have one and it doesn't work well with Reason.
6 лет назад+8
Plus - THESE MPK's are wireless. However - that's not why I'm disappointed with Propellerhead. My problem with them is - they keep putting out these friggin sales pitches to us instead of actually updating their DAW.
Amazing video, beat was amazing, was jamming to it, thank you for going through this, my Akai Midi Controller comes today in the post and I can't wait to get using it.
Dude, !!!... hands down I've had the akai mpk mini for about 1 month n a half.. this is the first weekend I have off and I decided tomorrow morning head to hb on pch to a nice cliff to make beats.. I got a fixie with the gear ratio 49 x 15
Johnnie Harris Reason is dope, and I'm a longtime user, but it's not for everybody. It's not as easy as everything else out there, but it will make you a real engineer if you're really into being more than a "plug and play" type. Most people are scared of Reason, but there's no need to be. People just don't want to take the time to learn.
I am pretty new to music making.. this has sparked confidence in mean as your explanation was clear and to the point. You can very easily get confused with all of different plugins. Thank you!
Update: AKAI's promotion to receive a free copy of Reason 11 Lite when you purchase this controller is over! I was so disappointed because they sent me a discount code for the purchase of Ableton Live instead. I already had Ableton Live. What a bummer! I really wanted to start out making beats like Justen, using this controller and software.
@@ahmednasser9962 I reached out to him on Facebook, but no response. I'm gonna get an mpk just to replicate that beat. And when the drums hit,, damn.. then the high-hats kick and,, shiiit.
This is one of the best HOW TO vids l have seen yet. Makes you understand equipment and process so easily. Will be watching it a lot more thats for sure. Thanks.
Here's the elephant in the room. Justen is absolutely amazing no matter what controller he's using. It's nice of Reason to share his elite skill set with the masses, Akai like Arturia both have released many products that essentially have no reputation for having a real 1to1 integration with hardly any software daw. Justen is being Justen but there's no mention of any recent developments software wise to support the functionality we're seeing here. Justen knows his stuff but the average consumer needs to know specifics. These controllers aren't new by any means yet these videos will lead some into thinking they are. Both Akai and Reason should have really teamed up on this presentation and explain to the consumer why buying Akai for Reason is the way to go. Again, Justen is a phenomenal talent, but he's not making the millions of dollars from the equipment. He's a skilled musician and skilled Reason user but it's not his job to reassure the consumer base.
If I really love music, and really have a good creative mind, but don't have the skills to play any instruments --- is it possible to get good with one of these (with practice of course)?
Shit i dnt play any instruments , if you have a natural ear for how things should sound you're good .Ive been listening to instrumental cds since high school I'm going out on a limb and starting my producing life , I'm tired of writing hits to other producers beats , and they want 50 of future profit if the single blow😡
Bruh just go drop like $100 on a used piano, and dick around with it. Give it a try, if it's not your thing you might be able to resell it and get some or all of your money back. If not you lost a hundred bucks for an experience.
most daws have virtual keyboard hit f4 in reason to turn your keyboard to a 1.5 octave.. keyboard also you can just humm a melody and then convert to a midi.. well in cubase at least
definite sub,I ordered an mpk mini mk3 a couple days ago,and it arrives tomorrow, and im so excited to start making music, but im also super nervous because it looks so overwhelming with all the features from the music software
He said "Hope you enjoyed, and go make some music", that's right, didn't ask for likes or subscribes. Brilliant video.
George Koukouris - I hate the artists that ask for subscribers. This guy is genuine.

I agree. Asking is just sad. Nobody is going to sub just because the video told them to. Show me something interesting/relevant to me and I will sub.
Lebowski69 - Exactly. When people beg it just kinda makes me feel bad for them in a way, but also just repels me. This dude knows how to advertise. I don’t really like the product, but it was interesting to watch.

I have not made beats in 10 years but this has really motivated me to take it up again, am buying a mini in the morning
Never give up making beats. It’s a form of therapy 😁 great videos will always inspire just like this one ✊
One of the best videos I've seen advertising Reason. I love Reason!!
ad for reason, and ad for the controllers
Reason sucks
Fl and Ableton are so much more capable
Redstone Jones you can use reason in FL and ableton.
@@JackLeeTheFirst I think the opposite is true.
Right, makes me want to switch daws lol I just might, I've always like reason due to being able to turn the rack around but grew up on garageband and logic
Why would this video have any thumbs down??? 😐 It was a excellent lesson and demonstration, with a hot beat! 👏 Guess you can't please everybody.
facts
made me eager to get into it idk what their problem was
How much does reason cost?
Its My Real Opinion ...... you already know why
I gave a thumbs up and i don"t even use or own Reason,
but now i'm eager to get more out of my current controllers and DAW.
SUBBED. Got a MPK Mini about a year ago with intentions to learn and start from scratch... this video has sparked that motive.
Never give up. Im 60 and just ordered the mpd218 and a Novation Launchkey to go with the other stuff I have.

Justen is a musical genius!
That beat was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Trash? All I see is the burning trash emoji.
I don't know anything about music production but watched this whole video because this dude was so dope at explaining the whole thing.

Brilliant mini tutorial. I learned as I got inspired and blissed out by the music in you. Blessings and many thanks!
Okay, I need the full song!
I miss his videos, I wish he was still creating content!
I bought a Mpk mini long time ago but I haven’t found a way to learn how to use it this is a great intro

Love Akai. Love Reason.
this is dope. always fun watching someone who is passionate, skilled and humble

You mean to make art.

Yea I’m motivated for sure I’m going to find those keys plug in he used and that Ecco plug I I have reason 10
When he breaks the beat and slowly brings it back up... 🔥🔥🔥 dude straight killed it!!
This was so well done and produced. Easily the best video I've seen on this subject. Thanks so much!
Seeing this set up makes me want it. Its like all i need for unlimited beats for days plus years!

oh my god im loving the beat... can i find it somewhere to continuously listen to it?
Dope! I been using reason for 18 years and don't really know how to use it well. This is super informative
Bro thank you! I just picked up an Akai MPK249 not wireless but you showed me what can be done on much smaller devices. Track was 🔥!
I just bought and will receive the AKAI Controller w/ Reason Lite tomorrow. I'm on my way! Great video. Thanks!
Bro that beat was sooo tough🔥🔥
Wasn't expecting that beat but dang!
What a talented guy! Absolutely in awe of what he did with so little kit.
I usually don't comment on vids. This was DOPE! Super simple and straight to the point without sidebar conversations. And a dope track to boot.
Damn, why does this sound like something you’d find in an Apple commercial would play😂😂
Kay Jee bc it can sell millions?

The most beautiful video I have seen on beat making, chord laying and melody writing
Start supporting the newer Arturia controllers Props. Keystep and Beatstep codecs would be great.

why not jusrt have an mpk mini?
because this is a commercial advertisement for AKAI.
MPK Mini is a product of AKAI also, it's simply the combination of both in the video
Because the MPKmini is crap. I have one and it doesn't work well with Reason.
