I really love your channel! thanks for this video. Do you perhaps have any videos on setting up the Pads on the green Bank A/B for the pause, stop, and record, etc, through MPC Beats? Would really appreciate that! Keep up the good work :)
I use a iPad Pro 12.9 6th generation and been checking your video out and trying to decide between this Akai and the CME 25Xkey and also have looked at the Arturia keylab mono 25. I like this has the poly and Arturia has poly but was on a Micro Mind freak which is a synthsizer and was told you could get keys, piano, strings, drums which sounds but a steep learning curve on changing the settings for each of those sounds. The CME 25 Xkeys Only worry is how long that rechargeable battery will last. Wish it was usb-c as well guess that’s why it’s Bluetooth to get rid of wires just know how batteries don’t last super long. Thanks for your videos trying to make the choice of which would work the best with the iPad Pro. Do you prefer the Akai or CME? Have a good one thanks for your time & 😮✌️👍🎸
Just bought the Akai MPK249, wish me luck & beat Maker 3. Not trying to be a Producer per se, just need a Hobby & i love music. Your videos and Bolo da producer helps tremendously as far as Beat Maker 3.
I have downloaded the bindings template and moved it to Focus Action Templates. Loaded it from settings, but the bindings dont seem to be working. Have I done something wrong? … Thnx
No such thing as the MPK Mini editor!?! I have this MPK mini MKII and no idea how to map to BM3 or any daw really... any help? Is this too old? Should I upgrade to the Aurturia ML 3? Thanks a ton!
I just got this and the pads feel horrible, like super stiff. I almost need to hit them the activate a sound so it's impossible to finger drum without breaking a finger or waking up the entire block.... Do they loosen up ? Cause I'm really upset about this since the main reason I got this was the pads
I have a 2017 12.9” iPad Pro. It only has 64 gb of space(30gb free). How well will the cpu perform with beatmaker 3? Can I get an external and use it to hold projects and sound libraries like my Mac?
I can tell you GarageBand is probably the easiest I have used it with it picks up on it immediately, well first you gotta convert what you want on the editor and that is if you want to do custom pads
Anyone having issues with BeatMaker 3 not memorizing/remembering the mapping? I saved the template, but the moment I disconnect the MK3 or switch apps, the focus actions and bindings go back to “not connected”, even after clearing bindings and reloading the templates. In other words, I have to map the controller every time I reload BeatMaker 3..
What's the best waveform editor for taking whole songs and just trim/save the part that I want to sample later? It seems kind of cumbersome to convert a .wav file for a whole song just to be able to sample a small part of it, if you know what I mean.
There's a lot of apps that can do what you are asking well. If your intention is to sample the waveform later, BeatMaker 3 has a killer sampler. You could just open the file in the sample tab and chop it there, then just save the session and come back to it when you are ready to make something with it. There's loads more options. Koala sampler is a great (and inexpensive) place to chop samples. GarageBand is free and you can edit and export samples in there as well.
@@MusicTechnologist Thank you. The most important thing to me is being able to start with an mp3 song I already have and create smaller .wav files of the pieces I want instead of having to convert the full song to a HUGE .wav file in order to chop samples, which is what BeatMaker 3 forces me to do, unless I'm doing something wrong.
The number 1 most valuable thing with a midi keyboard is the realistic timming and velocity and sound way better and natural then just clicking or tapping in midi to the grid, it's also faster.
Thanks for this video! I just bought one of these - haven't any idea how to use it. I am interfacing with a PC and using BandLab. Curious if anybody has experience using an Android tablet for DAW purposes? I live in Asia; we have loads of cheap Android tablets avaible. Apple products are pricey...
Just got one of these babies, and I'm an iPad girlie atm - have a feeling I'm going to be relying on your channel to get my bearings! Thanks for the info x
Ima old school back in the day dude!! 1987 MIDI In-Out-Thru kinda dude! That is what I miss on these new devices.. Other than that... This thing *Booya* Yeah Boyeeee!!!
@@YouGotOptions2 Also on newer devices like some by Roland they now use 3.5mm TRS Type A MIDI Cables that are the same size as mini headphone jack plugs.
Thank you very much. I’ve owned the MPK Mini MK3 for about a year now and floundered trying to use it. Provided AKAI Instructions were not very helpful. After watching this, hallelujah, I can use it! Thanks so much!
I never thought the MK3 was that much of an upgrade over the MK2, but now that I realized it's got endless encoders I'm definitely getting one. It's so nice to load up different projects and just work from where you left things off.
I just got this MK3 mini from my gf as a gift. Music production is all new to me and I'm a bit overwhelmed. Do you have any tutorial on using the application that comes with this midi controller for making a simple but entire song?
Yo this video was extremely informative! Thank you. I'm still not able to map all of the keys but I think thats a matter of me still playing around with it. Your a good teacher, thanks again.
Is beat maker 3better an easier than most programs out there because it’s a win in the ass to set up and forget that STUPID BUNCH CRAP THAT CAME WITH IT WHAT A WASTE!!!
I don’t mean to be spammy , sounding or anything, but again, this video was super helpful to someone like me who is just starting out. I really appreciated the use cases you reference for why you were doing certain things that was 🤌🏼
I'm a little bit late to this, but this is the most useful video in the history of iPad music production.
i just bought one of these and this tutorial helped me learn about the device. thank you.
0:55 daamn how did you cut those dbrand robot skin to the keys like precisely??
May I ask where you got the overlay sticker for your keys?
It’s a dbrand iPad skin that I cut up to fit this keyboard! 👍🏽
@@MusicTechnologistI’d love a video on that!
great...so, is it still worth buying in 2022 or should I pick the Minilab 3 and the bundled software?
Is there a way that I can use the plug-ins on GarageBand???
This was awesome! Beginner here. Thank you for this video.
Thanks!

how did u get and do the coustum skin
and where can i get them
Does it have transpose ? So can set the lowest c to B instead for example ?

Hitting the pads on the corners or edges instead of the center might work better for you.
@@T_E_music_playlists That's what I do now but even after 1 month they are still rock hard and unprecise
I’m using a iPad Pro 2022 model but I’m having trouble extracting the Akai download software can anyone help me with this please
Bro you out here saving lives 💯 thank you
Is it necessary to run through an Apple platform or is there software that works with Windows or Linux?
Help please! how do you adjust the velocity o,n THE MINI PLAY? my keys just sound "muted" if I don't press them really fast...
I did everything you did on connecting the akai and the pads on beatmaker flash when I use the akai but get no sound.
where do i get those stickers?
great video, thanks
Can anyone tell me how to get my keys to work in bm3 with the mkIII? For some reason only the drum pads work as keys

Make a video of how it works with another DAW, such as the free GarageBand.

I’m a total noob. how to open the zipped beat maker file?

Very informing keep making content bro.
I have MPK49 and MPK249 and mini mk3.
Why doesn't Akai just switch to USB-C so we can skip the USB-B adapter?
Perhaps I'm wrong, but the current "printer" port seems to be a bit sturdier than the smaller ones.
Nice. Thanks!
