Congrats! I am trying to do the same, how did you make the change? Any advice for me? I have some good mics and a full mixing board with some XLR connections, I was going to grab this thing also and start recording again. I am a bit overwhelmed though and how to setup my stuff and how to get it all working together
As a DJ with no real intention of producing full length tracks this software is a gamechanger. I only really want to make 16bar loops and such to add personal flavour to my mixes.
Just got the MK3 and it's such a nice package with MPC. Just so much fun to make beats. There are also some free sounds, pads and stuff on the MPC forum!

Just wanted to add to the thanks, I got a MPK mini last week and have zero music experience (needed a lockdown hobby!) and your videos have been amazing in helping me get started.
If your Drum Pads doesn't play the chords and you might not know yet: Go to the upper left and click: Edit. Go to preferences and choose Midi/Sync. When you have the Mpk Mini 3 then check if CONTROL is also chosen. It should be highlighted in white. Press OK on the lower right side. Should be working now.

Cool. MIDI controllers are useful and come in a variety of styles and sizes. Keep in mind they are controllers and usually do not contain sounds within them. Glad you liked the video.
Me from the UK, you make some excellent videos which you make easy to understand. I used to produce Beats back in the 90's on my Atari computer, Akai 950 Sampler, so I am learning about all the amazing new technology for making music.

Hi, nice tutorial, but just a thing... on previous videos u were showing how to set it up about sound card used , i noticed that if i dont have an external audio interface and im using the PC sound card, when im watching your videos for example it wont let me hear the audio cause the periperal is already in use with the DAW . So my question is, it should be necessary to have an external audio interface as you doing so to do not have this limitation on using the daw and listening youtube ? Can you try it and let me know? I purchased the Akai MPK MINI MK3 a few months ago and still can’t figure out how to use. The instructions and the Akai Customer Support are not very in depth or responsive. Could you please make a relatively detail feature by feature video on how to use this device? PLEASE? JimW

Hey dude , this is epic , thanks for the guide , Any recommendations on how to remove the velocity from my keys? the pads are easy to remove velocity on ("Full level") but cant seem to find the settings on they keys ?
Is there a way to play the keys at max velocity on this with MPC Software without having to always turn them up manually on the Pianoroll? the "Full Level" only affects the pads. Idk if im doing something wrong or the MPC software doesn't have this option. In FL Studio i was able to go to "Link note on velocity to" and set it to None. Every piano key plays at full velocity.
Hello! Was having some trouble getting the mini grand and other instruments that came with the MPC software to show up in my plug-in window. Like I don't have the VST option or anything. It just says baseline, electric, and tube synth. Can you help me figure out how to get those options like the mini grand put into that plug in option?

Yes, he has a video on this. You need to download guitar rig 5 or 6 (which cost) or get the free version called guitar rig 6 player. It comes with a standalone program, as well as a VST that you can load into MPC beats.

Hi, here is what you should do in MPC Beats. 1) make sure that in Preferences -> Midi/Sync -> Master, Control and Track are all enabled. Also, open Midi Learn in MPC Beats ctrl + Shift + L. Then Select user Akai Mpk3 and click on ENABLE. That should fix this issue. I hope this help!

I have been thinking about buying one of these. I have no background in music, but I have a good sense of rhythm and love EDM. I'm also neurodiverse and have a keen eye for detail and a tendency to stick to something until I finish it. Is building a melody and beat routine with an MPK Mini something that is easy to pick up and something I could teach myself?
I have just got a Alexis mini keyboard that came with mcp beats. Loving and your tutorials are just what I needed to get started. However my mcp program seems just a little bit different and also I can’t seem to get the tracks to play together. When I go from drums to keys I loose the drums. I m pressing overdub but the programs don’t seem to want to play together. Any ideas what I’m doing wrong. Thanks

Yo I just got this for Christmas and I'm stoked AF - I do however think the "piano/ keyboard" keys when pressed are kino of low in sound? Am I the only one experiencing this? Might just be because I'm not familiar with it yet
at 3.30 I try to use the Plug in Mini Grand but it doesn't show at the plugin menu. The plugins are activated in Ilock and I don't know how to use them.. Thank you

Hi there, I'm completely new to using music production software. Every time I try to load a beat I get a caution message saying - The Program exists Replace or rename - what does this mean? I've clicked on replace but nothing happens. Also at 0:33 when you click on a beat - tried doing this and nothing plays back. Basically my kits aren't loading. I also have no keyboard at the bottom.

Baseline , electric and tube synths are all VSTs with a bunch of sounds in them . Actually tube synth has a ton of instruments in it .

when i try to load a VSt nothing comes up i tried multiple times top instert the mini grand into the plugins file it just does not work
