the most important part of this video for me was the time correction being on or off...i could not for the life of me figure out why i couldn't alter my drums as much as i wanted. thank you
Great tutorial, quick and to the point and easy to understand. Not using all sorts of keyboard shortcuts that the viewer can't see. I was able to follow along nicely, keep up the great work! So you make the various 2, 4, 8 bar tracks in MPC Beats and then stich it all together in Ableton?
You should be doing more MPC videos! The flow and focus of your tutorial is exceptional. In 10 minutes I learned so much more than the hundreds of tutorials on MPC on RUclips. You are a natural at making tutorials. Much appreciated 🙏
Thanks a lot! I'll see about doing some more videos on it. The last time I worked in the MPC software, my Push 2 wouldn't sync properly and I don't have an MPC so it was a bit of a headache using only mouse and keyboard. I love my Push! lol

This program has been the most frustrating learning experience of my life to date. This video was extremely helpful. But I'm still struggling as my "media browser" section just comes up blank and pulls up nothing I search.
The only thing it will pull up is templates in the projects section.
Sorry it’s giving you trouble. I made a newer video where I spent more time going over the browser.

Hello, could you explain how to apply the Sidechain effect to an instrumental in Mpc Beats 2? What I really want is to achieve the effect of the instrumental becoming slightly quieter when the vocals enter. Maybe a video ;)

Is there another step that you need to take in order for the MPC beats to bring up those media files? When I click on the Media Browser, nothing pops up for me to select :(

Great video. Question…I have a MPk261 which has keyboard and pads. How do I map the keyboard function? I’m only able to get the pads to work.

the keyboard function can only work when you click the keys icon under the tracks area. I have the Akai MPK mini and i was trying to get that to work. hope this helps

none of the free kits and beats come up for me when i press media browser, how do i fix that?
How do I delete the empty space on my timeline at the end of the project? When I export it to audio, I get a long empty space of silence.

Thanks! Glad I could help! If you go to file ->save or save as you can save the project as an MPC beats file. I prefer to export my beat into stems so that I can further process it in my main DAW, Ableton Live.
For some reason nothing shows up in the media browser, I cant filter it to find an instrament or anything

You definitely should be able to. I used a 2012 MacBook Pro for many years and it treated me very well!

That’s just one of the templates MPC Beats comes with.
I'm using the free version and for some reason I don't have any of those extra buttons in my program tab and in order for me to use multiple kits at once i have to put them all in the same folder on my PC or else it'll tell me "loading in another template will overwrite current data" or something like that. i've googled and everything but haven't found a fix. anyone know the issue?

At 2:07 I show you how to access files from the computer, there is a button in the project manager that lets you view and navigate to specific files on your CPU. As for the empty media browser, it seems like something could have gone wrong on the installation. I would try re-installing. Hope this helps!

When i click in them the sound doesnt play automatic , how can i set to play the samples , for hear them before choose them ?
There is a button at the bottom of the browser that will allow you to preview files.

This midi was sold to me as something for beginners and I have never been more frustrated in my life. Also upon opening the samples I realize this is literally for making trap beats and EDM... Not actual music.. what the fuck
This is a quite powerful software for the price of free and although it is more geared toward instrumental music, it definitely has the ability to create full fledged songs with the two audio tracks that it has available. Sorry to hear that you are so frustrated, this DAW is not my first choice because of its confusing layout. I mainly use Ableton Live. But like I said, for a free DAW, it is amazing!

glad this seems to be working for everyone. I tried everything and I don't hear a single sound except the test button. no sounds from the daw no sounds from the akai mpk mini
nope....lost me. Moving too quick for a newbie. Learning UNIX shell programming was easier than this. I'm sure there's tons of Apple store apps that can produce the same result without all this crazy double speak and faffing about over several interface input sections. And I play 3 instruments......in case you think i'm not "real music" capable. At the end it all gets dumped out to another prog to "master". Really? lol.
Do yourself a favour and learn a proper instrument and play with a band.
Not dissing the youtuber, just the whole "I can make beats" thing. they all end up sounding almost the same as well.

I kept hiding my pads because I like to trigger them with my keyboard. The shortcut to hide/show your pads on screen is Shift-F. Its called the bottom panel. You can also find the shortcut next to the midi keyboard symbol at the middle bottom left part of the screen.
Edit - sequence - double length
that will save some people time as well

man how can i separate the channels on mpc beat so i can mix everything in differnet channels?
Haven’t figured that out yet. I usually route MPC beats as a plug-in to ableton and that solves my problem.
i have recently switched from mpc 1000 to MPK249. Is there any way to load up my old songs or programs or both? great video by the way.

@@FrenchtownMedia I found the way! you just drag the entire folder into mpc beats and it loads up. I think mpc 1000 is the oldest MPC you can do this with. If i had the 2000xl or something I would be out of luck.

I got lost was loading the sample. I did not have any samples (files that listed any beats per minute). Also, if we want to record our own beats and melodies / instruments layered on top, how do we do that? I tried to record a drum track then layer melody on top - both parts record separately, but do not play together when I hit play, after I recorded it all. Help please?

where do you find your samples?
RUclips, record shops, etc. Go to RUclips and search 70's jazz or 70's songs everyone forgot (doesn't have to be 70's just an example) and look for records with under 100k views (if possible). Download that song or buy it if you can find it, load it into your daw and splice the parts you like 👍
I make them and sample vinyl. Have a sample kit in the works for subscribers!
