Norio Wakamoto is a great actor and I usually like to hear him but I thought that he was an odd choice for Xemnas. I just can't picture that voice coming out of that pretty boy face.
The Japanese version of Xemnas sounds kinda...generic...bland... Whatever the case Paul St. Peter is the overall better Xemnas and probably one of the small handful of the best voices in the KH series.
I think the voice acting is decent to great. All the Disney characters, Organization Members, the majority of the Final Fantasy voices, David Gallagher, Alyson Stoner, Christopher Lee, Corey Burton, Billy Zane, Mark Hamill, Leonard Nimoy, Rutger Hauer, and even Haley Joel Osment (when he doesn't have to overact to sound like his younger Kingdom Hearts 1 voice) are all good or great in their roles. People really underrate how good the voice acting is in this game series, and they also tend to forget that *Kingdom Hearts 2 won for best voice over* for a video game when it first came out.
Norio Wakamoto is a prolific Japanese voice actor but this is probably the first time I've ever seen him do a subdued performance. He's infamous for being hammy as fuck so it's interesting that they got him for this when he would probably fit Ansem a lot better.
I'm sorry, i hear Wakamoto's Xemnas and all i can hear is Johnny from Guilty Gear. It is quite distracting. He did an excellent job but I think Peter is more fitting casting.
@@F-Lambda i know this is like a year old but no not really the entire reason xehanort went into terra's body was because he was, in fact, not old nomura has stated terra was about 20, and since kh2 is set 11 years after bbs, that would make xemnas be in a 30 year old body, which really isnt that old
the english voice is so much more charismatic, the japanese one sound like uh idk but i think the jap don't have the pression and the charisma that the deep and slow eng voice give
I actually prefer his English voice, in Japanese he tends to sound as if he's slurring a bit?
I prefer the english as well but I respect the FUCK outta Norio Wakamoto. mans a legend, he was cell in dbz
@@DrButteFatman he IS cell in dbfz too
It's a really good attention to detail to make the lips match the audio between the two versions. Not many dubs did that from what I remember.
That's CGI for you. However if it's prerendered like Chain of Memories, not so much.
@@bobo577ikr, recom’s lipsyncing sucks since it’s prerendered from the jp ver.
2:39 The quiet yet menacing laugh ever.
Two variants of Mansex... On one hand, we have Charles Xi Britannia and Alexander Anderson. But on the other hand, we have Wamuu, Leomon and Kurama.
And Igniz
And Cell
Xemnas Asmr
The Japanese voice actor sounded pretty great, but it didn't fit Xemnas as well as the English voice actor did in my opinion.
English voice Xemnas is slower and sounds emptier. He's like a shallow Ansem.
@@lordghirahim9975 Because he literally is a nobody.
English also sounds deep and sexy
@@lordghirahim9975 if he sounds emptier, then that’s literally the point
You dare disrespect Norio Wakamoto?
Just a reminder that Japanese Xemnas is actually Cell.
And Charles Zi Britannia.

Ki-Bu-Re-DOOOOO!!!
Ahahaah
Don't forget KINGUDOMU HASUH
X-BRADO
It's impressive for ps2 game to have accurate lip sync.
Xemnas is always calm in this game.
Norio Wakamoto even when he's being subtle he still has fun line delivery.
Norio Wakamoto is a great actor and I usually like to hear him but I thought that he was an odd choice for Xemnas. I just can't picture that voice coming out of that pretty boy face.
Thats interesting because as someone kinda unfamiliar with Norio’s work, he seems to sound more pretty boy than Paul
I always imagine Xemnas's japanese voice to be like pain's voice from Naruto
That would’ve been so fucking cool, just imagine Xemnas saying “these worlds shall know, nothingness!”
Yea but basically the voice actor who played him also played Cell
Awaken my masters
JP voice was good, but the English voice was a lot better IMO
I swear the Japanese voice actor did Igniz from KoF.
Yup. And Rugal in KOF 2002.
My god I love both so much, I can't pick between either
Let's see, do I pick Dracula from the original Symphony of the Night, or Wormmon from Digimon? Sorry, Mr. Wakamoto, but I'm going with the worm.
Yeah the English dub was much better IMO but it's cool if you prefer the original
english is so much better, i cannot stress it enough.
These are very well done! Could you do one for DiZ/Ansem the Wise?
That actually sounds like a good idea, especially since he has 3 voices to compare (1 in Japanese and 2 in English).
Jo how does no one mention that f in cell is his voice actor in Japanese
I preffer English
His voice is just satisfying and one of a kind
Japanese sound...uh...edgy?
Take it as Nobody version of Dracula from Castlevania.
is it me or i hear Naruto at 3:02? xD
For the first time ever I prefer the English voice. The japanese one isn't low enough...

Norio Wakamoto is a good va, but he doesn't really fit well with emotionless villains like Xemnas.
in french too
Fun Fact: the German voice Actir is just as great as the English one
to think the japanese voice is the from the same guy who voiced Chiyo-chichi
AEMN!
