Comparing the Japanese and English voices of Saix.
Ginpei Sato vs. Kirk Thornton
No contest here. Ginpei Sato barely had any voice-acting experience before being assigned to this role, and he doesn't come off as appropriately stoic, he comes off as wooden. What's more, his tone is too high, and it neuters the menace Saix is supposed to have. Kirk Thornton nails it, coming off as perfectly cold and composed with underlying sadism, and an appropriately deep but not too deep tone of voice. So Thornton emerges as the winner.

He sounds a lot younger in Japanese. I like both versions a lot but generally prefer English for him, I like the more clipped and enunciated tone he has, feels like it fits his character better

Never played this, but Sato is hands-down better than the other guy on Samurai Champloo. I could listen to him all day long.
