My take: First off, his introductory scene (and battle) in KH:FM? Scary as HELL. It's easily one of the most frightening moments in the whole game, and effectively establishes Xemnas as an ominous, powerful foe unlike any other. Xemnas' screentime in KH2:FM is a VAST improvement over the original KH2, with several new scenes actually showing him as the leader of Organization XIII and informing us even more about his character. Right before entering the final world, we are reminded that he's the big boss of the group and final boss of the game, and early into the World That Never Was, we see him again in Roxas' flashback and are shown how heinously malicious he is, giving us more incentive to want to kick his ass. With all the strengths from KH2 but with none of the weaknesses, this is Xemnas' definitive showing.
The Mark Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix overall added much more to the storyline and Organization XIII. It gave us more insight into their personalities and the structure of their plans.
That’s what I love about him....I kinda have an mo for loving bad guys and Xemnas is a big one for me. Besides his final fight is calming to me, so I specifically have a save point just before it that I play when I have a hard day.

So there shouldn't be a "Terra half" looking for his friends For all intents and purposes Xemnas should only have memories from Xehanort and Terra not desires. He is practically an empty shell with two sets of conflicting memories. I suppose you could justify it as him being confused by Terra's memories.
Anyone else feels like Xemnas is Sora’s arch-nemesis? Even in KHI (Final Mix), he was a mysterious foe antagonizing him. Then, in 358/2 Days & and KHII, he antagonizes similarly like Ansem did to Riku. Xemnas abuses his Nobody and Replica, manipulates him into killing Heartless, has Kairi kidnapped, and is noticeably the only Xehanort Sora fights in 1, 2, & 3. In DDD (even though it kinda ruins his character), Xemnas only goes specifically for Sora.
I respect that about Xemnas strangely enough. The other members just manipulate and toy with Sora just to piss him off. Xemnas goes for the throat every time. I want Xemnas to come back somehow.

I thought xemnas sent Ansem to gather the princess of hearts and open kingdom hearts so more heartless can pour out and Sora can destroy them. But then Sora basically fucked that plan up and so he goes to see roxas to make him destroy heartless and make kingdom hearts
I think DDD does a great job at showing that Xemnas is Sora's half of Xehanort to face off against whereas Ansem is Riku's. I just wish they did more with that than Sora just stopping him because he's the hero lol
I wouldn't be surprised if Nomura tried to find a way to bring Xemnas back into the series, considering how popular the character is. Not sure how the fans would feel about him coming back a third time though.
Agreed. What's funny is that the casting was a miraculous fluke. Disney saw Norio Wakamoto did Xemnas in Japanese, so they wanted to cast the English voice of Vicious from "Cowboy Bebop" (who Wakamoto voiced in Japan) as Xemnas. But since that voice actor went under an alias when doing the role, Disney didn't know who it was, and they made a mistake and cast Paul St. Peter thinking it was him when it was actually Skip Stellrecht. And no offense to Skip, but I just cannot imagine him giving the kind of voice and performance that Paul did. Paul didn't voice Vicious, but he ended up as the PERFECT English match for Wakamoto's Xemnas.
Honestly i feel like they're gonna come back in KH4 but as good guys or anti heroes at least, remember when xemnas summoned marluxia demyx larxene and luxord to those rock pillars and said something about awakening their ancient keyblade legacy that slumbers in them

Of course, I still love Kingsom Hearts. But KH2FM will always be my favorite. The story just hit me differently. It was a completely random encounter for sora and he had no clue what the mysterious figure was doing (taking his memories of kairi to make Xion), honestly wouldn't make that much of an impression with everything else going on at the time.

I'm sorry but I refuse to accept there was a developed concept for BBS at this point in the series. Or at least original KH2. They try so hard to shoehorn the BBS characters into a series that so obviously was never meant to include them. I mean many of these scenes added only reinforce there only being one singular, unique keyblade per each realm, which as of this game would make 3 in total (Roxas and Xion both have/mimic Sora's) Lingering Will when I first encountered him felt like some ancient ghost of a keyblade master from the distant past. He felt like a ghost or something from another timeline. A person with an untold story who met with a tragic end. I wish Nomura just left well enough alone.
KH2 Final Mix was released around the same time Birth by Sleep was in development, plus the secret ending of the original KH2 already featured the three. Final Mix's secret ending only expanded the secret ending of the original version. They weren't shoehorned in because we were already shown these guys before These scenes don't reinforce anything of the sort. There were never physical, whole Keyblades in each realm. What Sora obtained were _keychains_ which he attached to his Keyblade to transform into that particular form. 358/2 Days even shows Roxas transforming two Kingdom Keys into his Oathkeeper and Oblivion, reinforcing the notion that the weapons have always been polymorphs. They can take on all kinds of forms. After Riku got rid of his Ansem form, he was wielding a new Keyblade instead of the Soul Eater and before that, he handed Kairi a Keyblade, too. By the final battle of KH2, there were four Keyblade Wielders, Sora, Mickey, Riku and Kairi.

Xemnas is my all-time favorite villain in the Kingdom Hearts series. I've played pretty much every game. For me, no other villain/boss tops him.
