Maybe they were saving the casting budget for actors like Christopher Lee, Jesse McCartney, George Newbern, Rachel Leigh Cook, Ming-Na Wen, Cheech Marin, etc But still, I liked hearing the likes of Richard Epcar and Kirk Thornton in Kingdom Hearts. I'd already heard them as E. Honda and Guile in the Street Fighter II anime I enjoyed.

I appreciate that Sora is at a state where he just had all of his powers taken away by Yen Sid, he has fallen into a realm of sleep so deep that it's pretty much impossible to escape, the darkness from said realm is eating away at him, and he's still able to solo Xemnas, probably KH's most powerful villain so far.
And Sora still fails the exam.
Xemnas was mostly likely holding back since they wanted Sora to be one of Xehanort's vessels. I don't know all the requirements for that, but it probably wouldn't work if he was dead.
Xemnas didn't hold back, he want to weaken Sora as much as possible so why he have to hold back? Sora did his best to beat Xemnas, however whole damn Organization XIII put all effort to drag him into deep sleep while Yen Sid just sit on his seat and know nothing until everything almost too late, so Sora's struggle can only bring him to loss(fall to deep sleep) in the end.
But again, Xemnas isn't most powerful villain in term of story-wise, even his twilight form kinda strong as hell because power of Kingdom Hearts but that isn't his real strength, it's borrowed power.
I think overall DDD was horribly written on Soras end. Literally has outside forces interfering with his exam, and ALL focused onto him, WHILE having someone elses heart inside him. Like I dont understand. How the hell was one supposed to see through all that shit.
For me, just watch it carefully and I would understand all important things, but for other minor details I really had to watch it many times. Thanks to its short story, it didn't take me too much time.
DDD wasn't horribly written for real, but its story is too deep with plain facade and suddenly big plot twists, so it's hard to understand and can easily confuse people. For KH's story theme that make it look kinda off. It sound more fit to Final Fantasy.
+Very Normal guy well whatever the hell it was, it didnt work. It was executed in a way they that made it seem like it wanted to be deep and complex. The story provided no way of knowing how Sora fell for the organizations trap and falling to darkness slowly, when all along he was being tracked. Going from one world to another.

Xemnas honestly gave the greatest speeches in Kingdom Hearts, making everyone he speaks to feel like nothing but assets and science experiments he is simply observing on behalf of his true self.
Honestly, this was probably a pretty good way to do a retcon.

While it’s debatable if this was ALWAYS the plan the series was heading in this direction since at least 2007.
The PS2 remake of Chain of Memories added a scene where Axel is taken aback by the fact he’s actually enjoying himself and KHII Final Mix has Axel cry during his meeting with Roxas in the “afterlife”

Just realized that the reason Xemnas can control "buildings" is because Xehanort figured out the essence of creation and destruction through his Nobody's conception and created the World that Never Was through that ability, resulting in his complete control over it's metaphysics
Nothing is also the thing Master Xehanort wants to bring Reality back to, so he can reconstruct it with Balance. Basically, so Light and Darkness cancel each other out.

now to be fair, Marluxia, Luxord, Larxene , and Demyx were chosen do to the their past keyblade heritage, so it makes sense why he chose them. Xigbar and Saix were Xemnas most trusted soldiers so he chose them. Demyx later got benched for Xion so aside from that they were good candidates to keep around

Basically! Xehanort's simple but complicated plan is such:
BBS- Watch Naruto, read Harry Potter, pull an Orochimaru, and also do like 2 side quests
KH1- Absorb worlds, get Heart, but loses
KH2- Absorb people hearts, get Heart, but loses
Before 3D- Re-read Harry Potter
3D- Do a Voldemort but complicate it (also combine all plans to make it seem like it's not a loss)

I noticed when Sora announces about his friends, Xion and Kairi are both there. He barely knows Xion but his connection to Roxas means he would most certainly consider her a friend. And Kairi already has a keyblade in hand - Sora trusts her newfound strength wholeheartedly
I swear I will never tire of this boss theme or this fight. It is definitely my favorite in the game and one of my favorites in the series. Xemnas will always be my villain husbando.

Riku Falls to Darkness, Betrays the light, kidnaps Kairi, Tries to Kill Sora, opens his heart to Ansem, Keyblade Master.
Sora defeats most of Organization 13, Ansem and Xemnas, Saves other worlds along the way, defeats countless Heartless and Nobodies, Not a Keyblade Master.
Well he did recover sora heart and defeated roxas to get it back. All while using both dark and light.

This cutscene literally shows why he failed to become a Keyblade Master though. If you fell to the darkness, no shot you're gonna be the Keyblade Master.

Best boss in kingdom hearts for me, I know that's a bold claim but, that music is just legendary compared to any other track for me, combined with the fairness of this fight (he can kill you if you don't prepare properly with some powerful attacks but if you prepare he's not too hard) and I love the mix of every mechanic in the fight since flowmotion can be really useful and dream eaters can help a lot here. A lot of the other bosses in this game are either way too easy or ridiculously unfair so when I get to this boss it's always such a thrill ❤️👍
He one shots when his lasers go around you. But a good strategy is something he says himself "Guard" HAHA. I finished him off with Roll Call sheep and Meow Bounce

ThecompanyofSunshine it was also what they used to track Sora through his adventures in the worlds. That's how they were able to follow him around.
Guys, the Recusant Sigil has another meaning
Recusant: one who refuses to accept or obey established authority.
Sigil: is a magical symbol, seal or sign.
Put it all together and we get a magical seal/symbol on someone who doesn’t obey/accept authority.
It weird that Xemnas keeps saying that it is on Sora’s flesh when in fact it is on his shirt. However, who do we know does have it in their flesh? Saix has it on his face. What did he do to get it on his face?

Each attack that Sora can execute raises the value by a consistent amount, meaning that the intervals at which a boss will retaliate are *predictable,* not random.

Probably some kind of parallel thing. Luxu was chosen to play a big role and is practically without real friends. Meanwhile, Sora wasn’t chosen to wield the keyblade originally but he’s fine with that and has tons of friends.

A: I fu**ing love this line. Easily the best line in the game.
B: So Sora like the organisation 13 members has the X sigil on his clothing but he isn't affiliated with them. Xemnas' line basically means that Sora is known to the organisation as someone who time and time again refuses to submit to their will despite the odds that are against him in each situation.
Its a very simple line but the meaning behind is deep. (I love this kind of writing I wish we had more of it in the series)
