My heart utterly broke when Sora reached for Tron and missed.
Tron is gonna fine.
I was like "oh man, this is gonna be one of the best endings in a KH world when they meet again" and then the world just... ended. I think I sat with the DS in my hands for a couple minutes going "what the ACTUAL FUCK".
I literally always cry when I see that. I can’t help it.
Thankfully with a third Tron film confirmed maybe this story will finally get a happy ending

He's right, it isn't that tron. Space Paranoids and its inhabitants were copies of The Grid and its inhabitants. This is the "original" Tron, but not the one from KH2. Still, Sora doesn't know that so the fight still carries that weight.
It may not be the same Tron that Sora met on KH2 but Sora was able to Link with him & he Still had Loosed Memories of Sora. Same case as with Jiminy & Mickey on this game, they hadn;t met Sora yet but somehow they felt him familiar & thought they met him before

Sora meeting Tron in 2.5 was a sight for my eyes because Tron (original and Legacy) are my favorite Disney movies. Unfortunately it is so underrated that whenever my friends ask me what my favorite Disney original is, I mention something they have never heard of.
Me when they ask me about my favorite Disney franchise and my Answer is Kingdom Hearts.
With his final act of heroism, Tron saved the strongest light there was.
I love this scene so much, it’s something that really speaks to soras charecter towards always being there for his friends.
That being said can we consider what he actually just did...
While it’s not made entirely clear I look at this through two scenarios.
One, Sora’s recompilement of trons data restored him to the way he was in this world before clu repurposed him. Which is awesome he did but it’s still technically not the tron sora knows, him reaching for his hand could be explained not as tron remembering sora but rather just reaching out because he simply recognized his name being called out.
Or
Two, sora’s heart has data in it based from the scenes from coded and the end of this game. Him entering ansems computer in kh2 could have interacted with that data inside him and gave him a cache of that system including some of that systems tron data. The flash of sora in his space paranoids outfit makes me think something like that is being implied.
As such sora recompiling tron is merging data from ansems system with the grid, meaning it’s merging a copy of the memories from tron in SP with this tron. Meaning this is in some way the tron from kh2 now modified into this new system. Which means sora basically yanked his friend from a entirely different world and put him into a worse off world ruled by a tyrant.
Well in KH there is a concept where if someone has a strong enough bond with a different "version" of you, then you'll be able to feel that connection to some degree and be drawn to them because of it. For example, when Roxas tries to call out to Namine and ends up reaching Kairi somehow. They are able to connect because of their connections to people they have bonded with, Roxas and Namine to Sora and Kairi.
A better example for this scenario would be Roxas and the Twilight Town crew. Roxas never actually interacted with the real Hayner Pence and Olette at all, only the data versions that Ansem had in his Twilight Town. So the real ones were never Roxas' friends. Yet they fell into a funk when Roxas faded back into Sora, feeling something was taken even though they couldn't explain it, and when Sora met them, they felt certain that they knew him somehow. Same thing here. Sora was friends with a different version of Tron, but that connection is enough for Tron to feel that kinship with him even if he doesn't understand it. It's like when Sora meets Leon and the others in "Traverse Town" when he is going through Castle Oblivion. The crew makes it clear they have no memory of Sora, yet they all clearly know him.

This Tron may have Never Met Sora, but he still felt him familiar due to Sora's ability to influence those around him. Same case with The Jimminy & Mickeys on this game, they hadn't met Sora yet but they somehow he looked familiar & thought they recognized him
This was litteraly the only fight from the Disney side that made me feel emotional in any way. Especially after what happened at the end of Trons world in KH2. They really need to give Tron a conclusion imstead of just falling into nothing like in the movie.

Yet again Clu could possibly not decide to turn Tron back and keep him as Rinzler. But yeah Sora legit can just get his Keyblade back easy peasy.
He could've, but there was no way of knowing if CLU would've actually kept that promise.
That would actually be possible or not, I mean, when Yozora steals the keyblade Sora just can't summon it again at will. Hope KH4 explains this

If this is true, then, assuming CLU doesn't have a strong heart, this is possible. If CLU is of strong heart (and a strong heart doesn't necessarily mean good), then he would eventually gain a Keyblade. Even if Sora didn't know this, it was probably ingrained into him by the Keyblade itself to some degree.
CLU wouldn't have kept his side of the deal.

This fight is also hard and emotional for Sora considering that he always stands by his friends for power, but it's the exact opposite and that's having to fight a friend.

It's a flashback to KH2. Sora went to the Space Paranoids before, which was where he met Tron. We are shown that Space Paranoids Sora for a second. He does the Tron Limit finisher "Reprogram" right after.
It would have been awsome if they brought tron back and he thanks sora for saving him.

Anyone else love how much Rinzler/Tron fights just like in the movie? The attacks he uses from the way he enters the fight to things like his jump attack after the gravity goes back to normal are EXACTLY like in Legacy.

I really wish the "Tron: Legacy" World Storyline had a Continuation in a form of a KH Game, even though the Plot in "Dream Drop Distance" is supposed to be about an Alternate Timeline where the Disney Characters have never met Sora and Riku,
I do feel it's still a strong Possibility that the "Tron: Legacy" World might still Exist somewhere after the KH3 Era where the Original "Tron" still takes place,
Since "Kingdom Hearts 4" will take place in the Future, it would make a whole lot of Sense for "Tron: Legacy" to Co-Exist within because it does take place in the Future after the Original "Tron" as well.

*Pro:* Rinzler's boss fight being a recreation of the fight Sam has in the movie is pretty cool. The "Combatant 13" thing is also a cute bit of foreshadowing while also being a nod to Roxas.
*Con:* I'm annoyed that Sora doesn't fight CLU for what he did here. He just hears that CLU is going to retrieve Tron and is all "Okay, have fun with that." and just leaves. It's like the writers just didn't make an ending for this world.

When Tron smacks Sora down, he doesn't remember he fights for the users ? And he's still mute for some reason.

Not to mention that Sora had only visited Tron in Xehanort's computer. When in DDD, he was in the original meaning he'd never met this version of Tron

I am pretty sure I was under leveled for this fight when I first fought Tron so I just spammed counters and won after about 20-30 minutes of constantly trying.
