I picked out what were in my opinion the best speeches given by Master Xehanort, 'Ansem' and Xemnas through the Kingdom Hearts games. This ... is ... the Xehanort Saga montage! Enjoy the sermons on darkness and nothingness.

Leonard Nimoy didn't die. He's just forgone his brittle old body and is now taking control of a younger, stronger, new one.

Fun fact, Eraqus is voiced by Mark Hamill and Xehanort is voiced by Leonard Nimoy. So Luke Skywalker kinda just fought Spock.
And Luke was killed by Spock because the force was illogical. :P
And in the end, Luke Skywalker was victorious.

After playing the future games I like this quote even more now, it really seems like he's describing Xehanort.

apart from Riku being possessed by Xehanort, and having him confront the part of Xehanort that still resided inside him in Chain of Memories? Which ended up with him adopting Xehanort's Heartless' form for the majority of Kingdom Hearts 2?

Kurt Crockenberg Well he's not connected because of Terra, he is connected because Riku and Xehanort are the same kind of person. Riku wanted to leave Destiny Islands for the same reasons and mastered control over darkness like Xehanort does. That's why they are connected. Unlike Xehanort though, Riku maintains a balance of light and dark in his heart.

I'm still laughing at the fact that the first clip is essentially Luke Skywalker arguing with Spock of all people. That would make an interesting argument over the existence of the Force with Spock saying belief in the Force is illogical.

Billy Zane as Ansem just took the game to a whole other level
You know, I love how they connected Kingdom Hearts 1 and Birth By Sleep by having Terranort and Ansem using the same Darkness monologue.
I feel it was to make the players sure that, in fact, it was ansem's somebody, xehanort. No more terra, only a shell.
Well Ansem sod is the heart tank of the old geezer after all the moment he got artificially younger when kicking terra out of his own existence so it fits

I'm surprised that Xemnas was the only one out of Xehanort and Ansem that never wielded the keyblade
MovieManiac 95 Maybe it's just because the Keyblade can be wielded by the darkness or the light, not Nothing. With the exception of Roxas and Xion, maybe Vanitas.
MovieManiac 95 xemnas could wield the keyblade he just never did other wise the rest of the organization would find out about his plans to use them all as vessels. Because they were all told they would be creating kingdom hearts to receive a heart

Me: "You know full well Xemnas. All you and the other nobodies had to do is go out and experience life like a normal person. Instead you LIED to them and told them they had no hearts!
I honestly never believed Xenmas and DiZ's bunk about nobodies being heartless even way back during the release of KH 2. If Axel had no heart there is no way that he would have sacrificed himself for Sora like he did.

Yeah. To me it always seemed like that they could have had hearts if they had just believed in it.
Like for christ's sake Naminé even shed a tear and she's a nobody too.
Naminé, Xion, Roxas, Axel, they could all feel emotions and so had a heart.
They were just so 100% sure that they didn't have a heart that they thought it was just an illusion.
I mean he tried to live like the first time and look what happened he got possessed and do I need to remind you what happened the first time if you look at dark road I mean come on
Billy Zane Was perfect for Ansem "Heartless" His voice was perfect, he could be coy, smooth, and angry all at the same time. I would paid himself to keep with the series throught the the other games instead of his replacement actor
Yeah, I like Richard Epcar as much as the next guy but he can never really replace Billy Zane as Ansem.
Richard Epcar is pretty good. How can you go wrong with the same voice actor for Raiden from Mortal Kombat?

SPOILERS FOR DREAM DROP DISTANCE!!!! I find it ironic how Sora thought Xemnas was pretending to feel sadness, when in reality, Xemnas was acctually trying to pretend he was emotionless.
Yeah..no matter how much they tried to deny having hearts, each member of the Organization harvested feeling in one way or another.
*Axel--Love (Even after being told his friendships were only imaginary over and over again, he never stopped trying to mend the broken ties)
*Saix---Jealousy /Rage ( He swears is allegiance to Xemnas, but still can't seem to stay out of Axel's business. Even goes as far too compare his new relationships with their old one.

In fact, I think the only one who was even close to not having any feelings was Larxene. If someone told me she was really heartless, I'd believe it. XD

Yes. Right before the Xemnas boss battle in DDD, they explain to Sora that Nobodies start off having no hearts, but can eventually grow them back, due to emotions.
Dang. I don't know why? But for some reason, I really love Xehanort's speeches.

I will always miss and cherish Leonard Nimoy's talents, exploits, and persona. He was truly unique. Perhaps Frank Langella can voice his character, Master Xehanort, if recordings have not been finished already.
In the end, EVERY heart returns to the darkness whence it CAME!
Xehanort's obsessed with the unknown, and has long desired to see what lies beyond the great darkness.
But when he gave his heart to its shadow and became a Heartless, he forgot there even WAS something beyond that darkness, and for a time his obsession lost its original target. Thus the light of Kingdom Hearts literally blindsided him.
Who knows what else he's lost sight of in his pursuit of darkness?

While xehanort Set up everything his heartless and Nobody thanks to Terras i fluence wher able to make ther own Plans anstelle. Still influenced by Xehanort they didnt stop the Plans that would alow Xehanort to continue himself if needed . Xehanort could have taken control at any point but he didntas the end goel was a new World and trough ansem or Xwmnas he could have geten that endgoel
Leonard has the best gravelly voice in existence. It's brilliant.

Oh don't get me wrong. I like Richard Epcar and like his work. He makes Xehanort's Heartless sound very sinister and ambitious. But there was just something about Billy Zane that added a sort of grace and civility to his voice. A sort of confidence.

For a Rated E game, you gotta admit, Kingdom Hearts taps into some deep, dark places at times. Probably the only "kids" game I know that really dares to dive into such deep subjects such as "the good and evil in one's heart." And the funny thing is that half of the time, the villian Xehanort asks really good questions. Which came first? Darkness or Light? Good or Evil? Are some people just born evil, or are some people destined to be good? He's one of the only villians I know that makes really good, logical inquiries and statements from time to time. Can a good person be taken over by evil? Can the opposite happen? Can we always trust our hearts? Does the heart ever lie? Are memories kept in the heart or in the head?How important are loved ones? What does it take to push a person to the point of no return? Is Darkness bad if it's used for a good reason? Most video games would never attempt to dive into subjects that complex. This is the probably the only Rated E game that can get away with people being possessed, having hearts stolen, dying in violent ways, or having a manga version of it that allows the characters to swear.

I like how philosophical Kingdom Hearts is too, but I feel like they go over board with it to an extent. Symbolism is good, but not when EVERY LITTLE THING IS CONSTANTLY used for symbolism, cause then that can get tiresome...to me at least. I also feel like they give emotion too much credit. I'd rather THINK then allow some emotion to take control over me. Plus I'm not a very emotional person, so I guess in KH I'd be a Nobody

xemnas's would be a sad song about wanting a heart no matter what. Ansem would be a song about covering everything in darkness. and xehanort would have a song about the keyblade war.

Xehanort used xemnas (organization) style when e leaves ventus on destiny island at the beginning of BBS, if I remember well ^_^

xehanort himself was literally a walking heart after he cast aside terra body Aka the robe guy up until the point he highjacked riku at the end of kingdom hearts 1 and made his actual first artificial body resembling what his heart ❤️ is.

Chikao Otsuka passed away at the age of 85 a few weeks back. Leonard Nimoy, at 83 today. Both well renowned actors in their respective countries, one in voice, and the other, live action. Both lent their voices to Master Xehanort...and now they're both gone. The fact that the main antagonist of the next game is currently voiceless aside, one has to wonder if perhaps the role of Master Xehanort, like the play Macbeth, is cursed...I guess we'll never know, seeing how the next game is the last of the MX saga and presumably the last we'll ever see of the cunning tactician. Shame it couldn't have come sooner when the both of them were still walking amongst us.
I do have to wonder who exactly will take up the mantle in both Japanese and English dubs. I would think his Chikao's son (whose name currently escapes me. Apologies) could fill his father's role for one more game. After all, he's been in many of the works that Chikao has been in (He is Ansem SoD. Sure it was a surprise to find out his father would be his more complete predecessor), so I'm sure he's familiar with his father's voice. I'd also think it'd be a good way to pay tribute to his memory, having the son surpass the father, but who knows if that'll be the case. As for Mr. Nimoy, I haven't the slightest. There's probably someone who can impersonate him (just as there was someone who could impersonate Mako long enough to finish up Avatar, just as how Corey Burton is THE Christopher Lee replacement amongst other things in terms of voice acting, and just as how the voice of Mickey didn't end with Wayne Alwine), but I wouldn't know any names. This is all just speculation border lining rambling at this point, but any way you look at it, it's a big loss for the acting world and for Square Enix. Hope they pay their respects to these two fine men and their careers, just as they did with Mr. Alwine (semi-related, on the off chance Scrooge McDuck is coming back to KH for whatever reason and/or DuckTales 2 Remastered is a thing, hope Alan Young's name won't show up next to the word "dies" any time soon...*knocks on wood*).
+Rexaura888 While the voice of Xehanort will not be as powerful, they can find someone who has a similar voice, and let technology handle the rest.. but, there is very few if anyone who can voice Xehanort like those two.. But, no, the role isn't cursed. Just old men with normal issues.. of course I cannot say the roles were not the cause of the stress that led to that but... hahah.

In a way, I think Eraqus is worse than Xehanort. He was so blinded by his doggmatic views of light and forgot that for there to be light, there must always be darkness. Xehanort understood this and so in a way, he was right all along. I think Eraqus realized his mistake as he was dying, but it was too late.

Eraqus is dogmatic in a way. I don't see how that makes him worse than Xehanort, who is a liar, manipulator, murderer, an insane person with a twisted mindset that would risk countless lives for the sake of his insane curiosity.
You have a point, Xehanort's a crazy maniac and his actions will probably make things worse. But should curiosity be condemmed? Especially when it could ultimately lead to balance between light and darkness? I do think that someone less mad should be the one to bring balance though.
Of course curiosity is not to be condemned. It is a good thing. Most things are not wrong in themselves, and are actually to be encouraged. But it is also true that almost all things can be turned into obsession, insanity and evil if not reasonably measured. That is the case of Xehanort, i think. Curiosity is a great thing that drives every great mind. Madness is not.

@@d4rksonic474 No, it was because of a movie that Zane was in before KH2 came out. Some Turkish movie; it apparently didn't zen well with the Disney execs so they thought they had to wash their hands of him (which was dumb since NONE of us knew about the movie at the time... or until someone told us about it years later).
Zane is still damn good at being an antagonist. Just look up the 2017 KFC commercials he was in.

***** YES! My personal favorite is when Anakin began killing the younglings you seen his eyes turn yellow, he was officially a sith. In kingdom hearts when a heart is stained with darkness the persons eyes become yellow. Hence Xehanort, Braig, Terra, and Riku. (when he starts talking more and more villainous.) Also I don't know if anyone knows this but the emperors true purpose was to use Vader's body to live on then Luke's, since Vader's becomes mostly machine. Tetsuya Nomura had to be influenced by Star Wars.
Wow good point I didn't even catch that. That's also the color of the eyes of all Shadows in the Shin Megami Tensei series of video games. (Persona 4 notably)

The constant talk of the dark side and darkness being fuelled by hate rage etc.
And then the final gummi route to Twilight Town in KH2.

And you destroy it by flying INSIDE it and SHOOTING AT ITS CORE.

And Riku was seducded by the dark side just like Anakin was.
But later returned to the dark side just like Anakin.
And they both were scarred. ( Riku looking like Ansem at first ).

Yes and the list can go on. Bottomline is even if Tetsuya Nomura never admits it he was heavily influenced by star wars. Also since you brought up the light saber thing he also uses electricity like the other sith do.
I believe out of everybody in the 13 Seekers of Darkness, Young Xehanort would be the last remaining seeker alongside Master Xehanort.

And plus, how come we see only 12 people wearing black cloaks, including Young Xehanort, and he also said to Sora that he is their 13th member, before Lea saved him?

I find it interesting how all three of his forms all want different goals. Master Xeanhort believes that light and darkness and must coexist. He wants to re-create the keyblade war to stop the "tyranny of light" and restore balance between the two. Ansem, Seeker of Darkness (AKA Xeanhort's Heartless) sought to return everything to darkness. And Xemnas only wanted to become whole.
SirJedi Consular Xemnas didn't want to become whole though. That was just what he told the other members of Organisation XIII to trick them into helping him. What he really wanted was to absorb the power of Kingdom Hearts and to turn the other members into vessels for Xehanort's heart.
No, if you think about it his two forms carry out the same goals but split them between the two. Ansem wanted to return everything to darkness because according to Master Xehanort the world was once covered in darkness due to the Keyblade War and gather the 7 princesses of light. Xemnas goal was to find 13 empty vessels to fill with Xehanort's heart using the artificial Kingdom Hearts he created. Put both together and bam, Keyblade War.

I don't hate Xehanort's goal, I just absolutely hate his methods, and if you think about his 'the world is too bright' mindset, you'll see that he's ultimately correct...if only from a certain point of view.
Leonard Nemoy was the PERFECT voice for Xehanort.
I find it interesting how the villains never, if not rarely, mention Light but throw out the word Darkness like candy at Halloween while the heroes rarely mention Darkness while throwing out Light constantly.

All of the Master Xehanort Character are SO cool to me. They are all so cunning, mysterious and powerful. They all have those qualities. Nomura can really do anything he wants with their storyline and it would make sense

Me and a few buddies one late night were cracking up while doing impressions of "Master Xehanort with tourettes syndrome" (I don't know how it started or why), but now that the voice actor; Leonard Nimoy has passed, it just saddens me that my favorite voice in the series is no longer with us. Hopefully he fulfilled all of his parts in KH3, and if not, I hope the next Xehanort is still very good.
Rest in peace, Leonard. You were a great Spock and Xehanort.

Dumb question is HP older than KH? And well as a hardcore hpfan i dont see similarities. Voldemort was more or less based on Hitler. He wants to eradicate all who have "impure" blood. That and not dying because he fears death are all his motives. Xehanorts idea of balance of light and darkness makes him a far more interesting villain. But well the 13 Xehanorts sure remind of the horcruxes. If thats what you mean
I do intend to eventually put out a new video including Dream Drop Distance cutscenes but I sort of want to wait for the whole Xehanort saga to finally end. But for all we know as of now, KH3 won't be out for another one or two years (optimistic thinking) so I might get impatient and just do it.

ThatGuyfromBrazil I could be wrong in this theory but I think when Square Enix first made Kingdom Hearts way back when they had no idea that it would become such a hit and that they get the funding necessary to Greenlight a sequel game but by the time they got the go-ahead it was too late to rehire Billy Zane or maybe Billy Zane simply just didn't want to do it again I don't know

Xehenort possessing Tera then spouting the same darkness rhetoric that his heartless says is so cathartic cause you see the madness literally take shape.
Xehanort, the man with the mind, desire, and the heart to change the worlds.
Xemnas is so sad. Ya wonder why the characters wanted to murder him so badly (Roxas and Axel aren't even there so why does everyone else have a bone to pick with him)?
Maybe simply because he's a literally heartless asshole that played with pretty much the lives of all worlds just for the sake of power while feigning to be a victim more than anyone else, not touching the subject about kidnapping Kairi just to make sure Sora would keep destroying Heartless even after he knew he was helping them reaching their goal.
When you really think about it, how Xemnas came to (non) existence is rather sad, but apart from that he's pretty much a cruel monster not the least concerned about the well-being of anybody else, not even his direct subordinates.
Oh, and one more thing, before it's gotten wrong: Xemnas is my favourite character in the whole franchise so long, exactly because he's such a bastard.
He totally is a jerk. But being two different people (Terra and Xehanort) is pretty difficult to deal with. My point though, is that Sora only thought Xemnas was using Kingdom Hearts to gain a heart at the time. Even after feeling bad for Axel, Sora insults Xemnas for not having feelings. Like, What's up with that?
Roman Draco To put it simply, Sora in that moment was facing (what he thought was) the very source of all the hardship he and his friends had to face throughout the game. Knowing that, all the lives that were lost for the sole purpose to feed Kingdom Hearts, and generally the enormous jerkasses the member of the Organization were proven to be, it's quite understandable that he was even just a little frustrated facing their leader. Even if said leader put up a sorrowful façade to sway them, which convinced him Xemnas was feigning anyway, because he's a Nobody and cannot feel sorrow.
Btw, in a sense, Roxas IS there. He's inside Sora, so it's possible he's influencing partially Sora's judgement and emotions on a subconscious level. He suffered very much because of Xemnas too, even if he doesn't remember why.

Kingdom Hearts: "Xehanort's Chronicles" Wouldn't it be nice? A game about the past of Xehanort and how he becomes: "evil". Bet he had a drunken dad that hit him. But jokes aside, I'm very interesting in Xehanort's early years. There wasn't to much in the 3DS game about Young Xehanort.
I cannot believe the voice of old xehanort pass away. Its So depressing. RIP Leonard nimoy :(
